Cadl J.Syosset, NY02May 7, 2022We brought Dan an aged Subaru with a leaky head gasket. The car is driven only locally by my elderly mother-in-law so we did not want to put a lot of money in the car. The dealer had estimated many thousands for the job. Dan did some research and found that a special oil additive can "lubricate" the rubber gaskets along with a fresh oil change and buy us some time. What a relief for all parties concerned. Kudos to this shop for their honesty and integrity, so refreshing when the industry has a lower approval than Biden!

just had my car serviced. Good job - honest, reasonably priced and perfectly done! I have quite an experience dealing with other shops in the area and it was not all pleasant.Luckily found Jo-Dan Automotive Service. It's not that there are no honest mechanics, it's just not an easy task to find them.

But likely (against all odds) I managed to find one and can't help sharing my story. I was looking some local shop to bring my car over. I had no idea of nature of the problem (some weird noise) and was prepared to do my best refusing long list of expensive repairs. But (what a pleasant surprise) it was nothing like it. Absolutely different approach:
1.I was heard right away
2.Got ride home
3.Got a phone call in few hours
4.I was offered delivery (it would be too much, just called Uber)
5.Got honest picture of the car condition (instead of long list of problems - "your car is in good shape sir")
6.The price was way below of what I expected, honest and fair
7.The good aftertaste of the whole experience with Jo-Dan

Easy to get an appointment, quick drop off, job was done in a few hours and pick up was just as quick. What a stark contrast to service centers at the dealerships. We are lucky to have this gem.

Excellent and honest mechanic. Dan resolved a battery drain issue in my Ram truck that even the dealership could not locate. He is very organized and thorough and explained his thought process along the way. I highly recommend him.
