Indonesian at its best!
The owner,Jazz is such a warm and friendly person. The space is small,3 tables and a counter by the window to enjoy your meal.
Here's why I love Bali Kitchen:
-Plenty of vegetarian,even Vegan options
-food is delicious - authentic Nasi Goreng, betutu and other Indonesian specialities, all cooked to order.
-BYOB
-the homemade hot sauce has a great kick
Sadly, the fabulous master stylist Jessica Muniz is no longer here. Her sass and expertise have gone to another salon in Park Slope (so not offend the overseers of Yelp, google her to find out where).
Four stars for the fantastic location, the friendly staff that work for the owner and the delicious pistachios / complimentary coffee / tea.
If you are walking by Brooklyn Heights on your way to the waterfront, the windows of the salon are decorated seasonally and fun to look at. Great artwork in the salon too.
If you do need a hair cut or treatment, note they are cash only but their prices are lower than most salons in Brooklyn Heights.
I've been going to Jessica at Van Sickel for 6 years - having gone through many haircuts over the years: the Zac Efron, the Beiber (hey it was in at one time!), the Brad, the Boardwalk Empire and now the Peeky Blinders cut, I can unequivocally say Jessica knows her cuts!
Cute salon on a tree lined Brooklyn Heights street. Enjoy a cup of herbal tea and pistachios while you get your hair rinsed, have a fun catch up chat with Jessica and then walk along the promenade with your new 'do. Perfect way to spend a late afternoon when you need to get your hair done right.
On a tree lined street in Brooklyn Heights, Van Sickel is my new place to get my precision cut and learn new tips to get my coiff looking fierce!
I've had Jessica cut my hair the past few occasions and she is a misstress with the single blade! After telling her my preferences, she followed what I wanted and even suggested things that I wouldn't have thought of for my hair (straight Asian hair) -- and you know, she was right! Not only did my cut look great the first week, but it grew out evenly & with minimum maintenance (I'm not a heavy gel kind of guy). Even five weeks later -- it looks fab and I can't wait to go back to get my Summer cut!
Best of all, you pay a fraction of what you would expect at a B&B, Fekkai, or any of the other large NYC salons.
Nice touches with complimentary coffee & tea too!
Jessica is amazing!!! After seeing her for almost 10 years at another salon in Brooklyn Heights, she's moved full time to this charming salon at the border of Park Slope and Gowanas. Friendly service, expert cut and she's saved me from making hair style faux paus (no, the Zac Efron / Justin beiber hairstyle from 2008 is not coming back).
Book your appointments with her at Le Petit Chandelier in Park Slope, Brooklyn today!
From booking, arrival and execution - 800-GOT-JUNK did the job fast and correct. Had to clear out the unwanted belongings from my sellers apartment days before the closing on the 6th floor of a walk-up building - the pros at 800-GOT-JUNK were up for the task.
Two queen sized mattresses w/boxsprings, an XL sofa, dishes, glassware and kitchen items, and two large sized mirrors down six flights of stairs!!! This was no easy feat but the team of Carlos V and Glen tackled the job with grace and resourcefulness. At the end of two hours, the items in the apartment filled up the entire truck!! The cost was reasonable and most important it got done fast.
Highly recommend the hardworking pros at 800-GOT-JUNK!
