Don't bother. There are many other places in SF and even right nearby in the Mission for far better mexican food (and better service). We sat at the bar and our server/bartender was completely inattentive and uninterested in getting our orders or checking in on us. I do love me a spicy cocktail, so the picante margarita sounded perfect, not only was it not in any way discernibly spicy it was incredibly sweet. After trying to flag down our bartender while he chatted at the other end of the bar, I finally got his attention and asked for a few limes to try to make the margarita palatable. The 2 measly, dry lime slices I was given did nothing to help the sugary drink. By then our food had arrived and it was just one disappointment after another. The only non-meat tacos available for me were both fried (fish and avocado), and the fish seemed like it had been fried earlier in the day as it was rubbery, not hot or crispy. BF had the carnitas and the carne asada, both of which he was underwhelmed by and didn't even finish. We also had a side of rice(....meh,) and beans which were completely uninteresting and could have come right out of a can. At this point I decided I needed a drink I would actually enjoy but since no one had come back to check in with us at all since our food was dropped off it was another eternity before I could get the bartender back. I politely said the margarita was just too sweet for me and ordered a glass of wine. I did not ask or expect the margarita to be taken off our bill, and it wasn't, but I have to admit it would have made up for a lot as a nice gesture if it had been. The decor is nicely done but really, without decent food or good cocktails, this place is just not worth it.
