I stopped in for an oil change and inspection. They told me the anticipated wait time and reviewed the cost with me before doing anything. I waited less than the anticipated wait time and cost was accurate. Great customer service. Highly recommend.

I asked the price for an oil change. The guy said that with 30,000 miles on the car he recommended full synthetic. That is BS, but I wanted synthetic anyway. He told me it would be $87. I knew that was high, but went ahead and OK'd it. When they handed me the invoice the final price, minus tax, was $123.99. The charges for Valvoline synthetic oil, oil filter and labor added up to $87. But there was an additional line item - 'Synthetic Oil Upgrade' with a charge of $36. There is no possible legitimate reason for telling me $87 and charging $124.

Unfortunately, the customer service at this place seems to be deteriorating. I don't have hardly any auto repairs, so I primarily use Express for our inspections.
Used to be that someone would greet you when you first pulled up and they acted like they wanted your business. Today I pull up and wait and wait and wait for someone to ask me how they can help me. When someone finally approaches me and I explain why I'm there, I get a kind of dismissive, complaining attitude of, "it will be 40 minutes and I have this car over here and then this one ... " and then he just turns his back on me and walks away. I told him that the keys and registration would be on the dash, and he doesn't even acknowledge it.
I'm sorry that you don't like your job, and you feel pressured for having to DO YOUR JOB, but try taking your surly attitude elsewhere. I don't like having to take a part of my busy day to get a car inspection and pay for it.
UPDATE: As you will see, I got a reply from the company. They provided a phone number to contact them. I phoned that number twice, chose Option 2 as they indicated, and got a dead line each time. The oil stains in my driveway are quite irritating. I used jiffy lube for years... no issues... thought I would try these guys as they were close by. Bad idea...they don't seem to know how to tighten the plug. Back to jiffy lube for me

Our oil light came on, and my wife had to drive out of town the next day. So she took it to Oil Express. They overcharged us for oil. They charged for regular oil, then charged again, the full price, for the synthetic oil. I think they called it an "upcharge." I call it a rip off. Contacted corporate, who put me in touch with the manager. Manager never followed up. They charged us $73 for 5 quarts of oil, way above retail price (and they don't pay retail). If you go there, check your receipt for overcharges. As for us, we're going back to the dealer. That's right, the dealer was way cheaper than this place!

Terrible. I went here to get my car inspected. They put in my wrong VIN number, had to go back, redo it. Sometimes fast is NOT always better.

Today this company lost a long time customer. I've been unhappy the last few times and just thought it was a busy day and all... but today was the last straw.
Josh made me feel like I was bothering them by getting my car inspected today. I was fine waiting for the hour... they said they were queued up... hmm, 3 cars at the place and the staff lumbering around.... but I agreed and waited.
I've had my truck inspected there for years. Never failed. Today, Josh comes out to tell me the tint (factory installed in 2011) was too dark and it fails inspection. Well, the ncdot web site says it only pertains to the windshield... and only for after-market...
Josh must've been sleeping during his training.
I went down the street and waited less than 10 mins - and Passed as expected.
No more inspections and/or oil changes (full synthetic $$$) will be had from Express Oil.

I dropped my car off this morning for new front brakes and rotors. Will called me shortly thereafter and told me the price of the brakes & rotors. He then priced some tires for me. I had them replace all 4 tires, front brakes and rotors and synthetic oil change. My car was ready within a couple of hours. When I went to pick it up, all the gentlemen working there were friendly. There were some technical difficulties at the time and Daniel was very accommodating to get everything worked out. I will definitely be back to get my car serviced!
