After a bad plumbing incident in our bathroom we knew right away that we needed to hire professional cleaners in order to feel comfortable in our space again. I contacted Cleaning Day NY who was able to send a cleaner early the next morning. They left my space spotless and I feel like I can finally relax after such a stressful event. Communication was great and I felt like I was in good hands throughout the entire process from booking to cleaning. I highly recommend them!

To respond to the company's "clarifications," I did in fact emphasize that it was a construction cleaning more than once, and we already had once vacuumed the dust off the floors--TWICE over for the cleaners. So the level of dust in the photos sent to the owners were already significantly lower. My space is also a 2600 square feet home, and when I first contacted Cleaning Day, they said that it would require two cleaners. So this is the first time I'm hearing that three were needed, but for the cleaning that was provided, I think probably 4 of their cleaners were needed to actually do the job.
Note that the person responding to my message was NOT present at the cleaning and is relying solely on her workers account (who was obviously again, not interested in doing a good job, lacked professionalism, and left me to deal with the fridge mess she knew she didn't finish). While one of the cleaners may have maybe mopped twice in one space (the basement was fine), it's notable that the company's response completely ignored the fact that rooms paid for (a whole bathroom and at least one bedroom) were left UNTOUCHED.
Not sure why I would hire a cleaning company to do "deep clean" and then leave the rest of the house (handles, fireplace, etc.) unclean--I guess BEWARE that when you hire cleaners to clean a house, they're not going to really "clean" everything and will leave visibly dusty places untouched.
Also, with respect to the windows, there was no expectation for them to be "deep cleaned," really just wiped. Aside from the front few windows, they remaining were literally UNTOUCHED. Had to do them myself.
To clarify as to pricing, even with the photos sent over, the company quoted me $360, and after the "refund," charged me $330. We did acknowledge the watermark stains on the floor and again validated all of your points regarding the fridge etc, this is why we issued you the refund for the deep clean and windows that were not done. Our response was not made to belittle your experience but to share our perspective on some of the items noted, what we learned, and why we issued the refund that we did. We do still have to pay the cleaners for their time there, even if not done to the standards that our company expects of our cleaners unfortunately. Your charge directly went to the cleaners. Also note that we did issue you the refund discussed, as well as the discount. Your receipt would note every single item, charge, discount/refund, and the charge differential would likely be the taxes on the service. Lastly, since your experience, we are in the process of growing our team, giving more extensive testing/training to ensure that our cleaners are top notch and enthusiastic about helping our clients. We are saddened that this was your experience and truly did the best we could to hear your concerns and fairly address this.
We are including additional details and responses below to make sure that we can clarify some things noted. We know this does not change your experience and we also want to be sure that future clients get a full understanding of the situation and how we handled this overall.
We do appreciate your feedback and we want you to know that we have created new protocol to avoid situations like this in the future. We have also addressed the specific feedback that you shared regarding one of the cleaners who did not do the job expected. We have also added protocols in place and more thorough questions to ask of our clients to ensure we can provide the level of service expected and needed.
You mentioned that we called you day of about not being able to do that cleaning. This was because we had a cleaner call out on us last minute and our other cleaners were booked for the day. We mentioned that this was a three person job and tried to re-schedule so that you would receive the best cleaning possible but, as you stated, you could not (reasonably so) move your cleaning due to the movers coming the next day.
In hindsight we are realizing that your job was a post construction cleaning and not so much your typical deep clean. When you sent us photos, we did ask if the level of dust represented in the photos would be what we would find and you mentioned the contractors would clean the floors so there would be some dust but nothing near as much. The level of construction dust was really heavy and I know you mentioned you would not consider the work done a “broom swept clean” but our cleaners did sweep and mop twice. Our cleanings also do not include fixtures, fireplaces or handles which you mentioned were not done.
Regarding pricing, you had a 4 level, 3 bedrooms, 3 bathroom house around 2500-3000 square feet. Our pricing was already very competitive for the area. Other cleaning companies charge anywhere from around $500-650 for a deep clean of this size, post construction cleans are more expensive. In addition to our lower pricing, we also gave you a $73 discount.
Once we discussed your concerns about the windows being half cleaned and not feeling like this was a deep clean- we refunded you fully for the deep clean up charge, as well as for the cost of the windows which was the additional $65 refunded. That totals $137 off of your cleaning. We provided the most money off that we could while still paying our cleaners for their time there.
Again, we are not providing this information to undermine your experience. We did want to clarify and make sure that as much detail was provided. After looking for a good cleaning service, I decided to go with Cleaning Day and while the personnel is nice, the cleaning job was beyond unsatisfactory. It first started off with a call day of the cleaning that they may not be able to do the cleaning, but because I was moving into a newly constructed house, I couldn't move the date. They ended up sending the cleaners.
The cleaners did not do a good job cleaning at all. While I did not expect the place to be spotless because it was post-construction, it was not even considered broom clean. One of the ladies had no interest in doing a good job. When I booked, they asked me what in particular would make me happy, I said to clean the fridge and the stove. The stove cleaning was fantastic, but the other lady who cleaned my fridge only cleaned the freezer. After I had tipped them and they called their car service, I noticed the other side of the fridge was not touched and asked about it. I was told "I pulled the door and it didn't open so I left it." She watched me clean it and then started to help, but halfway through, she ran for her car service and left without saying anything and left the fridge uncleaned and opened.
I paid extra for window cleaning and aside from six window panels in the entire house, none of them were cleaned. Other than mopping, the living room was not even touched. I paid for 3 bed rooms and 2.5 bathrooms to be cleaned and one bedroom was not even swept, and one bathroom was "forgotten." The floors were still filled with dust, all the door handles were not touched so they were dusty. They watched me clean corners and wipe light fixtures, but they did none of that. I actually cleaned after them (light fixtures and fireplace) and they watched me do it. I only got a small refund because they had to pay their workers, which I understand, but this was NOT worth the money at all. Even my movers the next day told me I should hire a cleaning company because the place was so dirty, and was surprised I had told them they already cleaned.
The owner tried to be nice and understanding, and was, but the job itself was just very poor. Would not go back or recommend unfortunately.

This was my first time using Cleaning Day as I needed a deep clean for my apartment. Ruth was a pleasure to have. She arrived to my apartment on time and completed the job throughly. I have zero complaints and when I'm ready to rebook for another service I will book with Ruth!

I used Cleaning Day to handle a same day cleaning for my rental unit. I was pleasantly surprised by the communication with Management from the start. The cleaner even got some almost impossible stains out in my tub, I will definitely be using them again soon.

This business is amateurs looking for over inflated prices and do not understand cleaning structures at all. It will take them 3 hours for a basic clean. What are they building their cleaning supplies?

To future clients, LP is basing their review on not getting the pricing that they wanted. They have never used our services and are not basing this one star review on a cleaning. LP, you asked for a quote for a standard 2 bed/1 bath with additional add-ons such as refrigerator, oven, tile and grout, as well as laundry cleaning. Instead of a standard cleaning quote, we quoted you for a deep clean which includes interior/exterior of appliances (if added on separately, it would have cost more than what we quoted you for). Additionally, you offered to pay $1,000/m for 15 deep cleanings which would amount to $66 a clean. You also stated that you would expect the cleaner to clean an apartment of your size in an hr - which would not allow for a job well done. We pride ourselves in being competitive with our prices, providing a thorough clean, and also pay our cleaners a living wage for the hard work that they do. I can assure you there are no companies willing to charge $66 per clean for a deep cleaning of a 2 bed/1 bath 1200 sqft apartment. Knowing that we would not be able to the take the job on and meet your expectations, we offered free advice on who you should contact if you’re looking for a deal. We do wish you the best in your AirBnB business of over 40+ properties and hope that you are hiring quality cleaners, especially during a time like this.

I never felt like I needed a cleaning person, as I would take care of things myself. After months of working from home - a friend gifted me a deep clean. I was so impressed by Ruth and the company that I now have a scheduled cleaning every 2 weeks. I highly recommend cleaning day, as my now VERY clean apartment has improved my happiness with my Home.
