So, we were walking by and headed to grab a pizza. Never being here before, we thought it may be a good place to grab dessert, and we were out of whole bean coffee at home, so we thought we'd kill two birds with one stone.
Upon entering, we were greeted by the girl behind the counter. Since there appeared to be nothing for sale, other than the desserts, I asked if they sold their coffee beans and if so, I'd like to purchase a bag. Total deer in the headlights look.......Ok, you don't know? Can you ask someone? So after I prompted her to ask, she comes back and smiles. She says nothing. Picture crickets chirping.....So after asking her what she found out, she explained that whomever she asked didn't know, but we were in luck, because the "big boss" was there sitting at a table. Wow, I'm not feeling lucky? After 2nd person returns from speaking to "the big boss", she confirms they will sell some for 12.99 a bag. Phew! Ok, I'll take some please.
While said associate is supposedly getting my coffee, the first "helper" tries on selling us some desserts. Then she says, "I'm sure you found us on facebook, everybody does"! No, I didn't. It's apparent to me now that this place is full of millenials. The type of young people that have zero clue about anything in life, except social media. Ughhhh. So, after I tried to explain I was walking by, I chose the pumpkin spice cheesecake. Told her twice it was to go, but it didn't take.
Now we have two slices of cheesecake and a bag of coffee totaled up. $29+? Really? 12.99 for coffee and I think about $15 for 2 pieces of cheesecake. Not 1 whole cheesecake. 2 pieces. Ok, I'm ready to end this experience. Then I see the "big boss" in the corner talking with other patrons. She was asked if this was a franchise? She proudly exclaimed, "nope, it's all my idea"! I laughed and thought to myself, poor service, untrained staff and high prices were all your idea? Great stuff.....said no one ever.
So back to the task at hand. Crickets again. Ummm, do you have my coffee? No. She's putting it in a bag. Yes, this bagging of the coffee has been going on the entire time. I actually at this point sat down. I knew this 5 minute stop was turning into 20 minutes due to incompetence. 2 employees, 1 bag of coffee and they couldn't even figure out how to seal the bag of coffee between the 2 of them. Apparently, Facebook didn't have instructions for that? By the way, the open bag of coffee was only 11ozs. When I asked for a receipt, so I could remember this monumental occasion, guess what? Yep, can't do it? Why? Um, er, oh, I think our printer is broken, but we can text it to you. I just laughed. Of course you can! Nevermind.
Overall, a poor experience and I won't return. With prices and service like that, I'm guessing that I couldn't return in the near future, even if I wanted to. By the way, the cheesecake was just OK.
Ordered from here a few times. Last time, the driver changed my "3" into an "8" in the tip column and stole 5 extra dollars from me. Called the store when I received my credit card bill. Explained the situation and was given the run around. I was told on three different calls the manager would contact me. Never happened. It's not that 5 dollars is going to break me, it's just the point. What does this say about the management here? I guess it's ok to allow scum bag employees to steal. I will also guess the managers are piss poor at their job? So Pizza Hut on Overlook Drive, fuck you!
Decent enough place in the myriad of overpriced, under valued food offerings in Ft Lauderdale.
We went on a Sunday early afternoon and sat out on the deck. It was crowded but the service was up to par. We had a couple of sandwiches and beers. I honestly don't remember what we had, so It must not have been all that impressive, but it was not bad.
I would return for Sunday brunch because the fritatta's that were coming out looked really good. Tried to return for said breakfast a day or two later and found out they aren't open for breakfast.....bummer. One other note, they add an 18% tip to your bill. I deduct for being forced to do anything.........
Dr Greenburg,
Of course you would remember it differently! I spent alot of my money and got nothing for it. Thats the plain and simple truth. You did tell me that there were no guarantees. You also told me if anything went wrong with the service you performed, you would make it right. Remember that conversation?
In the end, all you did was push me off to another dentist because you did'nt want to deal with me. That by the way was a HUGE additional expense to me, NOT you.
Thanks for the reply, years later......

This posting was particularly distressing to me as it is so unual. We have numerous hand written patient testimonals in our reception area for new patients to read.
I have also placed testimonials on our website, centralpennperio.com, which can be viewed by anyone. I encourage visiting the website to see what we are about.
'Unfortunately, I am bound by HIPPA not revel patient infromations, so I cannot give you all the efforts we have made to satify this patient's concerns while he was a patient and after we learned of this review.
We see hundreds of new patients each year and have thousands of patiient visits, due to our excellent reputation for patient satisfaction and care. If you have an implant or periodontal need, I hope you vist our webvsite, centralpennperio.com
Went to Dr Greenberg to have a dental implant done. It was a lengthy and expensive procedure that insurance does not cover. At the first appointment, he assured me if anything went wrong with the implant, he would take care of it. For what I was paying, I hoped so!
The first thing that went wrong was the "screw" he placed into my gum fell out after a few weeks. I called him and he said come in and I will take care of it. When I got there he just couldn't believe I didn't have the screw! I told him it fell out in a public place and I wasn't able to find it. Not that it was going back in my mouth even if I had! He went on and on about how expensive it was. Guess he should have placed it properly to begin with?
Secondly, he charged me a hefty fee to do a bone graft. Although he did say there were no guarantees that it would work, he did guarantee me that I would in fact have to pay for it. After a few more visits, and some of his "abrasive" comments and "abrasive" staff, I decided that I would go to a different dentist to have the crown placed onto the implant. At this point I had paid Dr Greenburg in the vicinity of $2500.
I went to other said dentist who I believe over tightened my implant screw, and then was not able to remove it to place the crown. She asked me to go back to Greenberg since he placed it and could probably get it out. So I went the same day without an appointment and he took me in. He did manage to get it loose, but in the process, broke loose the entire implant. He then at that point took zero responsibility for anything. He was clearly not happy that I chose to go elsewhere.
He then told me that the bone graft obviously didn't take and that was why it had broken loose. See a pattern here? Both dentists did nothing wrong(in their own mind). Remember when he told me if anything went wrong, he would fix it?
He now tells me to go to another dentist to have another bone graft done. I assumed since he told me he would take care of it, that he would make arrangements with this dentist as far as payment. When I got there, this dentist said no, hes not paying, you are. It was another $1800. I said I'm done. All told, I spent $4000 to get an implant and I never got it. Dentist number two did refund my money, but Greenberg wanted nothing to do with that.
This guy in my opinion is no good. I spent allot of money to have him preform a service, which he never did. He was sure to take my money though. I have given consideration to reporting him to the BBB. You've been warned.
It pains me to give this place a poor review. I have been wanting to try it for sometime and finally made it for lunch during the week.
4 of us go for lunch around 1pm. It isn't very busy and we are seated almost immediately. No problems there. One of the things that attracted me to Mount Hill Tavern was the old building. Based on the decor and the nice patio and outdoor deck, I would easily give it 4 stars, but the food and service has to be top notch as well. I can't say I was at all impressed with the food.
First, it took at least 10 minutes before our server showed up. I thought this to be odd since it wasn't crowded or the lunch rush. When she finally showed, you could tell she was less then thrilled and wasn't very pleasant. Not rude, just not how I would want my employees to act in front of customers.
So she takes our drink order. 3 ice teas and a water. It seems as if it takes quite some time to return again. In fact, we had all looked over the menus and knew what we wanted to order before she returned with the drinks. She did at that time mention the specials. It would have been more helpful had she done that BEFORE we decided, but no big deal.
I ordered a 1/2 blackened chicken focaccia sandwich with a grilled caesar salad. Everyone else ordered the tuna salad and either a soup or salad. It took quiet some time for our food to arrive. Again, it wasn't busy so we thought it may be slightly quicker, but it wasn't a deal breaker.
Food arrives and looks OK. It appears as if they grilled the romaine in my caesar salad which i normally like. I noticed the dressing. It was almost non existent! But the worst part was that they grilled the lettuce so long, it was wilted and soggy. Not being picky, I dug in. The small drizzle of caesar dressing i did get was tasty, just hardly any of it. On about the third bite, I tasted something I never want to put in my mouth again. A whole anchovy! YUCK. It was hidden so I never saw it. Now I realize that most caesar dressing it made with anchovies and I'm fine with that. That doesn't mean I want to eat whole ones. It would have been nice if they would have put that in the description, but again, not a deal breaker. The sandwich was just unimpressive. It had almost zero flavor. It was just meh. Honestly, the best part of my lunch was the crispy potato chips that were served with my sandwich.
Everyone else shared the same feelings about their lunch. Lettuce was wilted and soggy from over grilling. Caesar dressing was minimal and everyone else thought it was odd with whole anchovies on the salad. Tuna salad sandwich reviews were "bland" to "just OK". Service was poor. Bill was about $50 plus tip. Not out of this world, but the food just didn't hit the mark, and the service was poor.
I would probably return to have a cocktail on the deck or patio and enjoy this old building and the decor, but I think I'll pass on the food.
