I really should have paid more attention to the bad reviews here.
I moved back to the CBD area for 4 months and sent Prime Fitness a note asking if I could do a temporary membership. They said sure (see picture).
I am right next to the St. Charles location, but had to go up to Poydras to meet them today. There I find out that the quote I was given isn't what they're going to charge. I'm not only going to be charged the $150 termination fee (please see picture for the in writing waiving of that fee) I'm also going to be charged $663 instead of $544. This is for LESS THAN 4 MONTHS! Holy cow.
On top of that, Sacha had an incredibly arrogant attitude, kept accusing me of telling her I only wanted 3 months, not 3 months and less than 3 weeks (as if that accounts for a ~$300 difference) and didn't care that she put in writing that there was no $150 termination fee.
Cool gym, interesting equipment, but horrible ownership and dishonest business practices. Obviously, I am not a member there...but I did go to another gym that was close...and paid about as much for 4 months as Prime Fitness wanted to upcharge me. It was less than half the price and 1/3 of the attitude.

Hey Mr. Sean M., thank you for attempting to sign up with us! The actual policy of the gym is to only offer 12-month memberships which can be broken with a $150 buyout fee. Sacha was bending the rules to accommodate your short stay in the city, but it appears that the communication broke down. We really wish it could have worked out, and thank you again.
Been coming here for years and love both the people who work here and the beers. Selections rotate frequently, with some main staples like Hoppenheimer on the menu at all times. I'm personally a fan of the Belgian Trippel with its high alcohol and sweet flavors.
The other reviewers comments about food are correct...Rigerbertos for Mexican, Time Out Pizza (or Dominos) and the food trucks are the best bet. Sushi and Chinese from Origami is also close and easy.
I really wanted to like this restaurant. Great location, cool outdoor seating to people watch and have a cocktail...but everything missed the target on my visit.
I came to this place with 3 other friends and sat outside in the street seating. After waiting for 15 minutes for someone to come by and introduce themselves, we finally flagged someone down to bring us menus. We ordered cocktails and out of the 4 only the 24k Old Fashioned was one we'd order again. One was too sweet and the one with Japanese whiskey and matcha was just not good.
With this we ordered a charcuterie plate and 1/2 dozen oysters. The charcuterie plate was something thrown together from Costco. For the price it was offensive. Cheap manchego cheese, cheap smoked gouda (and VERY processed cheese food) and the meats were just ok at best.
The oysters were absolutely not something that should be served anywhere. They were tiny and had a strong fishy smell. That almost always means they've turned and gone bad.
When we called the waiter over to tell him about the oysters, he grabbed the plate with the 4 remaining ones and left. No 'I'm sorry'...nothing. It was like he knew they were rancid and just left with them.
Finally, after about an hour of waiting, the entrees came out. The 'wild caught Chinook salmon' was a tail end piece of filet that was massively overcooked. My friend didn't eat it other than 2-3 bites. Completely ruined a good piece of fish.
I had the miso sea bass and mine was ok, but the plate was hot and the dish was cold. It's a clear sign of a plate sitting under an expo line heater for a long time before being served.
Brussels sprouts and creamed spinach were just as bad. The highlight was the lobster mac and cheese. Very little lobster, but hot and great flavor.
In all, we paid for a rather high end meal, with it being ~$275 for 4 people, but it was no better than dining at Chilis. Absolutely ruined the evening and would not return.
Absolutely fraudulent company. Took my $150 deposit and wanted it via Zelle rather than credit card (which was my first red flag and I should have stopped then). I was told that it was a 7.5% (!) surcharge for credit.
After I sent the deposit, the pick up and drop off date changed twice and the overall cost of shipping was jacked up after I got in writing a firm quote.
I've had to dispute this with my bank as the guy I worked with, Robin Walker, was rude and unwilling to work with me at all.
Fraudulent company, avoid at all costs.
Ok...I have an inner fat kid and a craving for good Indian food.
This means my girlfriend and I try lots of places for Indian, and this was our most recent. Really, really impressed.
We got chicken Raarha, Bhutto Paneer Simla, Chicken Biryani and some roti/garlic naan. I liked the paneer the best, girlfriend liked the raarha. Spicy in the Indian sense, so more than normal, but rather perfect level for us (we ordered it spicy). Everything was really well done, great flavors and hit the spot. We'll order from here again for sure. Can't wait to try the jalfreze and khadai!
