If they don't have it, you don't need it.

This antique store is floor to ceiling and packed with so much stuff. It feels a little overwhelming, but it's actually somewhat organized. All items are priced pretty well.

There are a few spots out front to park. The owner and his wife are very nice and have been collecting since the 1980s. He is a veteran and has a lot of neat stories.

Some of the categories they have are:

Toys, movies, DVDs, books, kitchen items, amber glass, carnival glass, Corelle, teapots. glassware, baskets, Avon bottles, figurines, and much more.

Driving down the freeway, just past the ferris wheel, a long line of cars is always present at Portillo's. We decided to stop in and see what all the fuss was about.

The inside is as busy as a Chick-fil-a or In n Out, but the service moves pretty fast. After standing in a long line, we placed our order and patiently waited. A woman called out the orders over a speaker that was inaudible and muffled. Luckily there is a screen that shows which order is up and ready.

The menu offers hotdogs, hamburgers, shakes, fries, onion rings, fish sandwiches, and more. They even had a veggie dog for the vegetarians. I got the veggie dog, fries, and a cup of their cheese sauce for dippin. Overall, my meal was less than $10 and I was pleased. My only recommendation would be to offer a veggie burger using Impossible or Beyond if possible.

I didn't see many staff members cleaning tables after customers left, but the place overall seemed generally picked up and tidy. The gentleman who took our order was very friendly and polite.

The interior has a fun vibe like you're on a classic Americana road trip. If you're in town, it's worth the stop.

This small coffee shop tucked away in the Kohl's shopping center is a nice place to stop for coffee or a bite to eat.

There is plenty of parking and it is located next to the esthetician and a bit hard to see. The inside has maybe 6 tables and there is one outside as well.

It has a cozy vibe with green chairs and a bookshelf. We enjoyed several of the toasts and the chocolate orange latte. The pastries were out when we arrived at noon, but everything we had was fantastic.

The staff is kind and they offer a points reward system so that you can earn free items. I will come back and try more items for sure.

The DCR and secret side bar are a chill place to hang and get a signature cocktail. Step just off Fremont and Las Vegas Blvd into this low lit vibe.

Theres plenty of comfortable seating for small or larger groups. The signature cocktails are all unique and are an experience.

If you want a more intimate quirky vibe, just around the corner in the alley you can access the side bar.

The staff are all friendly and have great recommendations based on your taste and mood.

I was pleasantly surprised by this little restaurant. The outside screams "seafood," and while they do offer that, they offer much more. We ordered a few pizzas and sides, and everything was very good. It was ready and hot when we arrived.

The inside is small, and you feel like a local when there. It reminds me of the inside of a boat or a small bar in a fishing town.

Don't overlook this place when you're in Carlsbad, it's definitely worth a stop.
