The two stars are for the waitstaff which is very accommodating and friendly and the decor which is beautiful. Otherwise this place would get no stars from me due to their questionable practices. If you look at everything that happened to my party yesterday by itself it's no big deal, but after us being there for several hours it adds up to problematic Behavior. We got there half an hour before reservation and were forced to coat check and charged $5 for that.

When our full party arrived we notified the front staff, who was still not ready for us even though this reservation was made months in advance and we had given them at least a half-hour notice that our party was coming in. We waited about another 20 minutes, and were told to go upstairs and wait by the bar, where we then waited another 15 minutes watching one person set up our table as slowly as possible.

Once we sat, the waitstaff did a fabulous job of making sure we had water and brought out our first cocktails within 15 minutes. It took about half an hour before they took our order, so at this point it's been almost two hours since we first arrived and we still haven't eaten and have only had one drink. The food did take a while which was expected because we were a large group and when 50% of us were done eating we requested a refill on our drinks. The waitress informed us that we would have to pay for the next round as complimentary only includes 3 rounds of drinks. This was not in the contract that my cousin agreed to when making a reservation here. When you reserve a table for such a large group you have to give a deposit and the restaurant sends you a contract. We were paying for unlimited drinks yet the restaurant switched it up on us.

As many reviewers have stated, the brunch offer is for unlimited drinks.

At this point they're playing at semantics and purposely leaving out pertinent information from the contract. Throughout this the DJ is playing fantastic music which I could not fully enjoy because they seemed to be a fan of Tinder and kept swiping left at every song after it played for 10 seconds. It was auditory whiplash!

Once brunch was over, we bought a few bottles and stayed for a bit longer. I opened a tab at the bar and when I went to close it out the bartender gave me only the merchant and customer copy of the credit card receipts, I gave her a very generous tip as she was very nice. But then I asked for the itemized receipt and to my surprise they had already given themselves a generous tip. Which by the way is not legal unless it's a party of six or more. at this point I wanted out of this place, and promptly left. I called my credit card company immediately to remove the extra tip charge and I will be following up about their shady dealings.

While this is a negative post, my family had an amazing time, why because we're fun people. We make do with what we have. However we are not people that enjoy being taken advantage of no matter how nicely you do it. This place is lucky they have the wait staff that they do but I don't see them being around for much longer if they continue their Shady business dealings.

I have lived in Harlem my entire life and was pleasantly surprised to see this juice spot open. I was feeling a bit under the weather today and decided to get a boost of vitamin C, via a juice and acai bowl. While the establishment was clean and the staff pleasant, spending 40+ min in a store for 2 items was not.

When I walked in there were only 3 ppl ahead of me. One had already placed their order and was waiting. That medium sized smoothie took approximately 6+ minutes then the other person ordered. I didnt realize the time passing because i was on the phone, but was shocked to note that 16 minutes had passed and the 2nd person had yet to recieve their one smoothie. Each person only ordered ONE item. At about 22 minutes in, the 3rd person ordered her bowl, that came around the 30 min mark. My order took a bit over 10 minutes.

For those wondering why I stayed, i honestly dont know, under normal circumstances I would have walked out at 10min. I guess our social contract to be polite even in uncomfortable situations wins again. Blame it on my fevered body that didnt want to go out in the rain. Luckily I had sent a text as soon as I entered and when I walked out I noticed about 45min had passed.

I dont know about you, but in NYC, or in any business really, that's way too long of a wait when the 3ppl in front of you ordered one item each. As far as taste, the ingredients were not balanced in the juice. Ginger should be used sparingly, and it was a bit much, and the acai bowl was ok, no real flavor. So a 3 star deduction.

I'll give them another try and update accordingly (probably not if the experience is worse). But I think I rather go to my local deli for my juice fix.

On another note, it saddens me that other ppl have replied negatively in their reviews to some of the other reviewers. My review is my honest opinion and I have no problems defending it, if need be.

Overall enjoyable experience at this restaurant. One star less because the food, while good, was...messy (for lack of a better word). I had the nachos and even though it seemed organized, after a while it looked like a mess on my plate (not sure if that speaks more to my style of eating or that some of the wet food components were too wet). Drinks were on point, nothing extraordinary and definitely nothing sexy or dirty about the place. I expected a bit more.

    • Tacos

      Harlem, New York

Given the many trucks with delicious Mexican food in the neighborhood, I would think this eatery would go a step above what is offered outside. While the menu looks delicious, they only really offer tacos (yes, I know the name is Taco Bar) and wings. The tacos are also about 30% smaller than similar eateries but 30% more expensive.

The margarita is fantastic and I will be back for cocktails, but first I'll stop by one of the trucks for tacos.
