If only we had found Garage Door Doctor (Kenji) sooner!
My husband gave MY # to Angi (Angie's List) & Home Advisor and yeesh
Call after call. I looked for reviews on all that called & couldn't find reviews on some of them. Only one came over to take a look & give an estimate
We remembered that our son & his wife needed a garage door repair and that they were happy with the service received.
These reviews don't lie. Kenji & his service was great!
Kenji himself came over to see what a new garage door would entail for us
His estimate was fair & we scheduled the work
The man who installed our new door was quick! Done in a matter of a few hours.
We couldn't be happier with the overall experience & would definitely recommend this service.
My husband retired and with it, we had to find new medical plans. Ugh.
He's had on and off problems with one of his eyes since November 2020
Got a referral to an ophthalmologist office that we had been to before.
He called in February & had problems getting our insurance verified
They gave him an appointment for JULY even though they had multiple locations & doctors.
He needed to be seen a lot sooner than that!
A really bad flare-up in May sent him to Urgent Care. The doctor who saw him found Alliance Eye Medical Group and helped get an appointment for the next day with Dr. Phillip Doss
It's a busy office but he was seen in a timely manner & got a full exam.
Received prescriptions that helped alleviate the pain within days
Follow-up visits were with his daughter, Dr.Lauren Doss, a cataract & corneal surgeon. The husband appreciates how thorough they were with the diagnosis process.
We both are going to be staying with this office for the long term.
We're feeling a lot better with the overall care you can receive here.
We were looking for a dog-friendly motel close to the shoreline for a 3-night stay.
Bayfront Inn turned out to be a good choice!
Friendly staff.
Room was small but comfortable and clean.
(Loved the pillows!)
Cute decor outside.
Breakfast in the galley 7:30-10:30. Also given a coupon for free cinnamon rolls from the case next door for every morning.
Coupon for a 5-piece fish and chips from Giovanni's across the street.
Our dog was gifted an awesome swag bag.
Parking was convenient.
Quiet at night.
Location was perfect. Easy walk to the main drag. (Most shops and eateries close early though)
Central for our day trips to places north and south.
Overall, we were very satisfied with everything and will stay again on our next visit!
What's with the big price increases?!?
I would go in to buy a dozen or so pastries for parties & potlucks because the prices were reasonable for a good product.
Recent visit-
Guava strudel- Went from $1.20 to 1.75, as an example
That's too much of a price jump, IMHO.
Also- that Monday Sea Salt Coffee promotional.
Bah.
I'm not waiting 30-45 (estimated) minutes for that!
See ya...
(Take note- You lost a regular customer. 22 check-ins with that being the times I remembered to check in. Also visited at least 5 other locations too.)
Yay! I'm a fan of 85C!
Mostly for their iced sea salt cream coffees and teas.
I'm diabetic and shouldn't indulge in their baked goods (Boo hoo, poor me!).
Okay, I will confess to trying a little of the much praised taro marble, brioche & guava strudel from other locations. Really good stuff! Especially that brioche.
So when I have to pick up something to take to a potluck or a visit to friends/family, I know that 85C's products are a sure thing.

The quality is consistently good at the various locations we've been to. The hubby prefers their breads over the many other Asian bakeries in the neighborhood.
This location is smaller than the others, but it's now the closest to me.
It's got what I need and that's good enough.
The coffee/tea bar. I love that they're open at 7am so that I don't have to wait until 11 for my other usual coffee spots.
The "Fresh bread!"-ers were coming out one after the other, keeping the inventory well stocked. Everything I picked up was warm.
A free parking garage right behind the building. I tend to drop by around 9am and found it's easier to park on the street (in front of Big T's mini mart) at that time.
Friendly employees!
I guess the only other downside is that there's less seating if one is looking to sit down. No biggie for me because I usually get everything to go.
One note on their sea salt cream beverages.
Their ratio of the cream topping is a lot more generous than all the other tea bars I've been to.
I'm happy!
Edited to add-
I've been treating myself to hot milk teas & those wonderfully garlicky squid ink rolls on the last few visits. Those squid ink rolls are best right out of the oven! Makes the car stinky though.
Gorgeous park!
This was a two-fer adventure for us.
To wander about and enjoy the scenery & to visit the Bloedel Conservatory up at the top.
I should have done some extra research before we went though.
If you're using public transit, there's a bit of a walk from the King Edward Station to the park.
The walk was taxing on my bum knees. Especially when we got to the park and was advised by a friendly local that the conservatory was "up there at the top". Elevations are not my friend. Looking up, I got a bit emo.
If I had known, we would have taken a taxi to the top.
Anywho....
The slow walk up afforded us extra time to see more of the park and the beautiful flowers along the way.
There were plenty of benches to relax on.
This is a well-used neighborhood park. Many folks were doing their morning exercise walks along the many trails.
I was loving the bright colors of the Autumn foliage.
This really is such a pretty park.
Anywho, again....
After our visit to the conservatory (which was worth my aching knees), I happened to see a taxi dropping some people off.
The driver saw me waving my arms like a madwoman and waited.
Best $5 ever spent.
