Worst service ever. Knows nothing about customer service and retention. Always dirty. Staff has the worst attitude.

Upon arrival at this beautiful space, expectations were high. The design and preservation of certain building aspects offset each other well. Market lights and chic rustic furniture pulled it all together for a fresh and airy New Californian vibe.
I wish the plates we ordered were more in-line with the balanced atmosphere of this beautiful space.
Hamachi Crudo starter arrived in a pool of heavily spiced coconut milk, overpowering the fish's natural brightness. I wondered if a lightly dotted drizzle of the sauce, which tasted like Thai green curry, would have been enough of an enhancement.

Foraged Mushrooms were delicious, with a nutty, earthy flavor. But the Manchego cream sauce served alongside them was surprisingly bland, with none of the sharp pepperiness or smoke one might expect.

Speaking of smoky, Brussels Sprouts were beautifully charred with melty, tender chunks of pork belly, but the usual nutty flavor was completely drowned out by the agave-based dressing, making the dish much too sweet.

The Broiled Feta was served with a pretty garnish of edible petals. In similar fashion to the sprouts and crudo, the usual delicious salt and tang of feta was drowned out by honey. It almost might have been better as a dessert than a starter.
Overall, very exciting ideas but that night, food was heavily masked with the sweet and the rich, without balance or space for natural flavors to come through ... unlike the design of the restaurant's pleasing aesthetic.

Service was excellent, although the staff could be better educated about the cook staff.

My Mom Gang and and I were lucky enough to book Vince for "our" daughter's Sweet 16 bash. Dude came on time and set up like lightning. He was super accommodating about placement and hook ups as the party was outside. And then the music ... seriously good! Vince had me acting like a basic B*, dancing by mahself on the floor, drink in one hand, eyes closed, lip syncing to songs.... He knows how to read a crowd, bring the vibe up or down, and transitions were smooth. This is how good he is: our nighttime soiree got heavily rained on and people were STILL dancing, in the rain, wet clothes and all! And did I mention how NICE he is?
Our event just would not have been the same without him spinning there. Thank you Vince!

Can't stop, won't stop... even in the rain!
      Thanks Vince!

So Daymn Good. Really. Here's my Ig take on it:
"10thanniversary celebratory dinner at Ryla in Hermosa. Amazing tweaks on Asian homestyle (i.e comfort) dishes such as Hokkaido Milk Bread w/ creamy tobiko spread; smoky and soul-warming, the Agedashi tofu was topped w/ tiny slivers of buttery uni and ikura that delightfully pop at the end for a salty finish.
Hubby enjoyed his Wellfleet w/hibiscus gelee. The Umeboshi chicken reminded me of mom's cookin', a lil sweet vs. a lil toasty sesame.
But the GOAT here is this fluffy, earthy bowl of TRUFFLE FRIED RICE.
The base reminds of my Taiwanese friend's mom's cooking, except for the addition of Truffle-Love and Chinese sausage (my college staple!) speckled throughout. Ah.Maw.Gawd.
The Hubbs & I are still fighting over the leftovers

My husband and I are way too old and fragile to be putting together large furniture. That's where Rudy came in and helped us out. He was on time, efficient, looked after all the small details, and even had some time to install a bidet day for us. I'll definitely be calling on him in the future for other projects.
