Very clean, professional and reasonably priced nail salon in West Miami. These nail salons are a dime a dozen, but i was VERY impressed here because of the cleanliness. The staff will definitely be the reason I'll be coming back when I'm in Miami; Cindy is a sweetheart and has been in the industry for 20+ years.
Not much else to say besides highly recommend if you're in the market for a nail salon. I was able to call and get in right away. There are a lot of tables and chairs so your mileage may vary with wait times.
My group ordered the grilled pork with rice, salmon with rice, pho and bun Cha Ha Noi and I would definitely recommend any of the above. I love that what you see is what you get, not a pared down half assed version that doesn't resemble the pictures. Everything from the rice/noodles, meats and veggies were super fresh.
Also the coffee: damn. THE most authentic flavor and kick you'd expect from a Vietnamese coffee. It's bitter, but also sweet. Hits hard and fast Brewed fresh daily too.
It's great having other authentic Vietnamese options in the Oakland area. This is my new default spot for Vietnamese cuisine.
A year later during the pandemic, and Phin is still going strong just as good as day 1. The best part is that they've now opened up indoor seating, giving me a true Vietnam-esque vibe.
They've started offering other variations to their coffee and some other beverage options, but the coffee is still traditional and amazing. This isn't your grab and go, in and out coffee shop. The best experience is sitting down and having the espresso drip while relaxing and catching up on everything else.
Do allow yourself time.
Do enjoy the ambience.
Definitely do try the waffle to supplement your coffee.
I still bring all my family and friends here, and they always walk away happy.
It's hard to gauge how good a shop is, especially when they first open. An amazing weekend grand opening can sometimes mean a lackluster Tuesday afternoon.
I'll be honest, I came back for the pandan waffles. It's by far the BEST I've had in Seattle, since no one else really makes it. Crispy crust, but still moist and chewy inside. Of course, had to wash it down with a coffee as well. I really like this place because they make coffee like you would traditionally see in Vietnam, one at a time through the small metal pour-over espresso press (I have no idea what it's called in English, see pic). Apparently, coffee beans sourced from Vietnam and homemade condensed milk. Definitely a lot of effort to recreate the experience--even through the decor. All that's missing is the humidity and the honking of hundreds of scooters passing by.
Great food and even better service. Ramen broth was savory without being too salty (seems to be status quo for most dishes in Honolulu lately). The spicy tonkatsu was perfect, and the Tantan had a peanuty taste which balanced well with the ground pork. Housemade chips and the potato salad are must haves!
Owners and workers were all lovely and friendly. Will be sending all my friends and family here.
This is not your typical Chinese restaurant in Chinatown (International District). Every dish we ordered had a nice refreshing take, and didn't leave you feeling bloated or heavy from too much oil. Even the deep fried giant chicken drumsticks we ordered tasted light and easy to eat.
Try it all; me and my friends tasted just about everything on the menu and were thoroughly impressed. Clay pot, deep fried tofu, fried noodles in XO sauce, egg omelet with shrimp, fried wings (two varieties), and a couple others I can't remember. Don't forget the drinks! Allen (Alan?) and Yen(?) were awesome hosts and servers, but even better bartenders! Creative drinks that were mixed well and dangerous because they were so good.
