Steak was delicious. Best Brussel sprouts I ever had (they were sweet!) Chocolate cake dessert was yummy too. Glad to see the corn chowder and Bison burger are still on the menu. My fav! The staff is also great and can tell you a lit about the different steaks and how they were prepared. I will definitely come back again and try something new.
Updating my previous 2 posts. I have literally gone to eat here once a week since they've opened and continue to be impressed. I get nervous trying new things on a menu in case I don't like them, but Svetlana has never steered me wrong! Everything I've tried has been absolutely delicious. I just tried the brushetta bread board that includes 4 pieces of bread with different types of toppings, and it was fabulous! They are the nicest people as well! Glad y'all are doing well!

Thank you very much! It was a pleasure to meet you. We’re happy to see you again soon
Just an update to my previous post I posted a week or so ago. This place just keeps getting better. I tried the cheeseboard, and it was absolutely delicious and huge. So many different kinds of cheeses and walnuts and dates and cranberries and pickled vegetables, along with fantastic grape jelly, crustini and apples. There were so many other things I wanted to try but I'll have to do it on another visit. They are open regularly from 11 to 9 now. Happy to have this cool place in Camp Verde. I will definitely be a regular!
Astoria Bistro had their soft opening a few nights ago, and I was very impressed. They are still getting a few things ironed out but should be opening full-time soon. As of right now they don't have a FB page or online website but hopefully soon. The owner was very nice and welcoming. The menu looks great, and the dish I had was AMAZING! A few menu items (I felt) were a little pricey for me to be able to eat here regularly (ie once a week) but if the food is good and consistent, that helps. Looking forward to eating here again soon.
How does this place only have one review? I stopped by there Friday night and it was absolutely packed. Cute little place kind of with a bar and coffee house vibe. They have mixed drinks and they serve brunch until noon and then after that is a lunch type of menu with small bites and tapas. I got the cranberry smoked turkey sandwich and it was delicious. There are chairs to sit around or there are a few tables. They don't serve anything big and heavy like a restaurant but you can definitely get a light lunch and dinner. Heard great things from many people and will definitely be back. But expect for it to be busy especially on the weekends.
I was surprised I could not find this Motel 6 to give a yelp review, however after some searching I found out it used to be a hotel called Gretchen Inn with disastrous reviews? Apparently Motel 6 bought it and did some renovations. We stayed here for one night last week before our house boat trip. Really the only reason we picked it is because it was the cheapest option and from the internet photos it looked pretty clean. I think the entire property has been renovated however it's definitely not the nicest place we've ever stayed but for an affordable one night option it worked. The room and beds a very clean. The first floor icemaker was broken. One weird thing was that our refrigerator was not plugged in. When we tried to plug it in we literally could not get it in the socket, then we tried the other sockets and could not get any 3 pronged deal in. So we talked to the person on duty and he came down right away and said you just have to jam it in the socket lol we weren't about to do that and break anything but if anyone else has the same problem you can avoid having to call the front desk. It's right on the main drag across from the gas station. Several people walk along the road there But we never felt unsafe or anything like that. Would stay there again if it was just a night.
Just got back from a week long houseboat rental at Cottonwood Cove and we had a fabulous time! (We typically go to Lake Powell so there is definitely some differences between the 2 places.) It was a lot hotter here so no one from our party was able to sleep out on top of the house boat like we normally do at Powell. We also had the air conditioner going almost the whole trip. Although we didn't go very far up river, we had a pretty hefty gas bill which was from the generator running nonstop the whole trip to power the AC. On previous houseboat trips we've only run the generator in the evenings when needed so this was a little different. The house boat we rented was pretty dated and well used but everything was functional and clean. Another noticeable difference was that the Marina is full service! If you are camped within a reasonable distance to the Marina, they will deliver supplies or people in your party if needed. We had somebody joining our party midweek and they brought them out on the boat which was awesome. Water was absolutely crystal clear and perfect temperature. A little harder to find some nice beaches at least within a few miles of the Marina but we were able to do so. Another notable fact was that we hardly saw anyone on the lake compared to Lake Powell. Saturday there were a few more people but during the week there were days where we may be only saw 2 or 3 boats on the lake. It was awesome! Lastly, everyone at the Marina staff was absolutely fabulous. Huge shout out to Rex and Doug. Doug is the one who took our houseboat in-and-out of the Marina. He totally loves his job and is incredibly knowledgeable and Just an all around nice guy. Doug came out and fixed our props and also brought out somebody from our party who was joining us midweek. Both guys went above and beyond and they deserve a raise! Sunsets were gorgeous as well. We would definitely get a house boat here again but thinking maybe a little later in the season when it's not quite so hot so we can hopefully sleep up top and not run the air conditioner as much. Also, if you've never done a houseboat but before, 2 toilets are a MUST! You'll thank me :)
