Very cute place with attentive staff despite the crazy lines and very good bagels. Lots of kitsch products and every type of person in line. Is it worth waiting in line for 45 minutes? Maybe just as much as it is to wait in line for cat and rabbit. Very crowded even at 9 am on a weekday. I had a friend mention it and saw it was close to my work and thought I'd pick up treats for the office. Little did I know what I was getting into when I stepped in line! They were limiting bagels to 6/person when I got there. I had the garlic cream cheese, mixed berry cream cheese, vegan (mikonos brand) cream cheese and the bagel types that were left at 9 am. I'd love to come back again to try some other items maybe when it's less crowded. You cannot order ahead at this time. They are doing a great job keeping up with the enormous demand. I love having great businesses that way. :)
Jay was exceptional. He provided great quality, speed and precision and his 18 year experience in the business is clear. I went to another nearby screen repair place that was $10 less but took hours to fix and I had to go back twice. Immediately my cell phone felt brand new again after Jay's work. If you are looking for cell phone repair this would be my preferred place to go and Jay answered the phone twice for me and gave great customer service. (They are located next to h and m and Victoria secret at a kiosk). I hope I don't have to go back but if my cell phone breaks again there is no doubt this is where I will go!
One of our favorite breakfast spots. Portage bay is a Seattle staple for a reason. The indoor/outdoor dining area, locally sourced foods, expansive menu and hot breakfast bar are fun features. Crowded at peak hours but child friendly and consistent dishes and service keep us coming back. The regular French toast, pancakes, and breakfast bar items are enough as is. With the oatmeal crusted or bananas foster french toast (although tasty), take away from the joy of the breakfast bar. Some items have been more of a miss but the kids menu is great. The chilaquiles and some version of the Phil always end up on our plates. I can't believe the Swedish pancakes are gluten free. Normally GF items always taste a little off but these pancakes were anything but. The servings are giant and delivery is timely. I can't wait to go back.
Xian Noodles is delicious. The hot oil noodles are the best item. I've tried the curried lamb and other specialities but the simplicity of the hot oil noodles really lets the noodles shine. I wish there was more parking and less people knew about it so I didn't have to fight the crowd and the other dishes are good, not outstanding but this is definitely a spot worth checking.
Lots of crazy foods with ingredients and styles I've never heard of. It's fun and generally tasty and they even encourage kids dine in with a very creative menu. I enjoyed my somewhat pricey meal here but it was not all that memorable (outside of the portlandia style jokes about the restaurant). It's not my style for a nice restaurant but I certainly don't have anything against it.
