      1 check-in

this is located on street level at the chandler / ahmanson plaza, so couldn't be more convenient if you are seeing a show there. idk if they serve lunch since there's offices and superior court right across the street (i doubt anyone in court has the stomach for a nice french brasserie lunch!), but when i went it said hours were only 5pm-8pm which was pre-show. also because of that - MAKE RESERVATIONS!

the vibe here is lively, energetic. the decor generally soothing, inviting -- if not a touch bland. but looks like a place where you'd enjoy a nice meal, drinks and good company... and that is indeed what everyone seemed to be doing when i went my first time here before "funny lady"... which tbh... was not really funny! the crowd is clearly excited for whatever show they're about to see, and that makes the energy here high and infectious. and everything is fast and efficient, because the place certainly knows you have limited to time to dine... and dash!

there were 4 of us we all just split this and that. had fries with short rib (the meat was super salty but the fries were great), french onion soup (excellent), linguine with clams (yum), some pasta chicken dish (also delicious) and fries with truffles (a bit woodsy overpowering...). everything was wonderfully and quickly prepared, and you can tell they absolutely know what they are doing, and are really geared to give you an efficient and great preshow dinner or bite. tbh i think i liked the restaurant more than the show!

the place is pricey. $42 ie, for linguine with clams. $22 for the short rib fries. yes it was delicious. yes you're paying for location and convenience and definitely a nice theater experience. even tho it's expensive... that's literally the price of a delicious and wise dinner option. you can't go out for an evening and expect to enjoy it if you're going to be cheap. and like i said, i enjoyed the food here more than the show!

this is an absolute and solid choice for a place to eat, in anticipation of a nice night on the town / in the theater. just be prepared to $pend!

fast friendly service. was never here before but my usual smog test place said they couldn't see my cat (converter... not, my cat as in kitty kat here garfield, come out come out wherever you are...) because there was a shield over it! (i had my cat stolen before, had a shield put on after).

my mechanic at affordable care (great place btw) said, my usual smog person is just being lazy (bc i called my mechanic to see if he could take off, the shield so i the smog guy COULD see the cat?)! so i broke out the interweb, yelped some nearby places and le voila... found hollywood smog check. you know there are like a dozen places all similar names, but found this one (it is BEHIND the exxon on hollywood blvd btw, it is NOT the 3 garage bays near the exxon directly on the blvd).

the guy here told me he knows how to see around the shield, and hooked up the car, did the test, and i passed. and it all electronically transmits to the DMV. it was EASY. NO HASSLE. and FAST, FRIENDLY service. i was in... and out. like it was a hamburger drive through almost! well not really but u know what i mean.

anyway no one likes getting a smog test. but just come here and get it done. as long as you pass, haha, you'll be on your merry little way and think, boy that was easy!

easy, no nonsense, fair normal pricing (everyone charges the same), legit service. highly recommended.

ordered the large vegetable pizza, thinking it would not be my first choice, but i had a vegetarian friend coming, otherwise i woulda had meat for sure! well let me tell you it was fantastic. plump olives, juicy green peppers, tasty mushrooms, generous amounts of mouth-dripping tomato sauce. so delicious i could have devoured the whole pie. i would totally order this again and not crave meat doing so.

have had fresh bros many many times and enjoyed it all. my italian friend scoffs at me saying it's not real pizza but idk it tastes good so i put it in my mouf and eat it. i personally have loved it every time and would highly recommend the place.

my only peeve is, i ordered online for self pickup. and the ordering menu before you check out, asks if you want to leave a tip. options are none, 10%, 15%, 20%... i really don't get why you should leave a tip on pickup. sure they'll give you all the reasons - 'oh someone in the kitchen had to prepare it...' or what not. yes. that's what a restaurant does. but if i order myself, pick up myself, who and why am i tipping? i did leave a tip - guilted in to it. plus i don't want to put 0%, and they see it, and who knows what they do to it thinking i'm a cheap sob! but anyhoo i really don't like this aggressive tipping culture.

i'd def order online and pick up myself again but i would prefer not to see the somewhat forced tip option at the end. i even googled if you should leave a tip on a pickup and a lot of places said no including culinary magazines.

oh- also they cut the pizza into squares. they are 'fun' to eat but next time i order i'll ask for actual slices bc tbh its very hard to portion control and know how many 'slices' you've eaten when they are a square here, a square there. and i'd rather know i stopped at like, two slices! at least... for now!

Large veggie pizza, delicious! I'm not vegetarian but loved it and would eagerly order it again.

these guys will come to you, they have very competitive - if not, superior - prices, and they have prompt professional service. they replaced the main batter on my prius with a greatly priced, well guaranteed refurb, and made it worthwhile to keep the car which i am ecologically but also economically trying to do. and they made it very convenient, showing up in my driveway and doing a switch in less than 45 minutes. it's been months since they did the work (at least 6), and i have had no problems since.

all service and interaction was prompt and professional.

if you have a prius, and it needs saving with a replacement main battery, call these guys. they will save your prius.

beautiful chill space. good food. scattered service. but definitely a great place to check out and chow down at! you will enjoy yourself here for sure. lovely views. scintillating general vibe of people happy to eat and explore a scenic space. and even tho you are only 6 stories above the busy, loud, curious corner of hollywood and vine... you feel like you are a world away.

the food was good. the service for dinner earnest. the service at bar... maybe they had a few drinks before they served us drinks?! i dunno but all over the place.

but definitely a lovely, scenic and tasty place to have a nice meal. definitely worth checking out.
