Nice rooms, very good kitchen and bar. Best breakfast I've had in Ireland, best Chips I've had in Ireland. This generation of Irish hosts and chefs have had done away with the myth of bad food in the UK, as far as I'm concerned. The grounds were beautiful, and the wait staff was good. The gym was stocked well enough for a hotel, and I was able to get a few decent work outs in. If I'm lucky enough to come to Clonmel again, I hope I stay here.
The only knocks against it were the faucets were short (so I touched the back of the basin when I washed my hands) and the tub was so narrow that the shower curtain touched me when the water was on.
It's a nice bar/pub. My lamb stew was nice, my brother's fish and chips were good. Standard good chips. Wait staff was quick and attentive for a pub. If I were a local I'd probably haunt this place regularly.
Good food, friendly wait staff. Everything tasted and felt like it was made from scratch, and the kitchen has their recipes down.
Budapest potato pancake was what I ate, and I recommend it if you like either of these things. My dining buddies had pierogi, and Polish plate, and both were pleased. I'll be back to try more.
I came here a lot when I worked in Des Plaines. I tried most of the Pho, I like it. I only regret that I didn't try more of the menu. It gets crowded at lunch time, so try to get there early and come hungry. This fat hombre has conquered the 2 burrito challenge at chipotle (I was younger in those days, and a little wild), but I've never finished a bowl in Dung Gia, came close once.
It's a nice date place, the pork belly I had was tasty, but I was still hungry at the end. Luckily they had more food in the kitchen, so tragedy was averted.
