I am starting to run out of places to go with the kids during Snowpocalpse 2-1-, so that is what lead us here today.
Me; What do you guys wanna do today?
3 year old: Wanna go someplace fun

To be honest, the original plan was to head to House of Bounce but we had a bathroom emergency and I saw a Target (which usually has clean restrooms) and did not realize it was attached to an actual mall.
All one level except for the Macy's and JC Penney's. The "food court" consists of a smoothie/yogurt place where the employee looked like she was hiding underneath the counter; a japanese grill place...and something else not memorable.
No playplace! Booo. I wound up blowing all of my quarters on those stupid ride on thingies near the pseudo food court. I give this mall an extra star because in an area where all grocery stores are out of EVERYTHING, the SuperWalmart was stocked with milk and essentials.

Caveat: My favorite "Hard Times" location is King Street. There, I said it.
Went here this past Friday, and surprisingly, got seated right away. When the waitress came to check on the first time I put in the kids' orders right away (under 4's do not deal with kitchen delays well). Their food came out within minutes and at that point, hubster and I went ahead and ordered (the Texas Chicken Sandwich for hubs, 3 way Terilingua for me). It was at that point that things went..a little wrong.
For whatever reason , it took about 10 minutes for mine and hubs entrees to come out. Maybe the waitress thought they had been brought out with the kids' food. Maybe the kitchen got bogged down. Who knows.
Extra point for the manager checking on us and making things right. And giving our little man a balloon.

We were silly enough to try to go to the Urban Market today (yeah, 2 vendors braving the 40 degree weather). The kids were hungry, we had just been out to dinner the night before so the goal was quick and cheap.
Horray for Delhi Dhaba. We were the only people in the place (noon on a Saturday). About 15 minutes later some other people started popping in, but there were maybe 4 other patrons aside from our little group.
We ordered the"3 Eat in Combo" - I chose Chicken Tikka Masala, Alu Mateer and Lamb Vindaloo. OMG, the lamb was sppp-iiii-cy. The guy behind the counter did not give me a big hassle about wanting rice AND Naan, so that was cool. Since we all spilt the combo (plus with ordering the yummy veggie samosas) we all ate for $21.
The Bollywood videos playing on the TV's throughout the place are a nice touch. Don't be scared away by the major construction project in back -- they are still open.

Had a great lunch here today with hubby and the kids today. Had no idea that kids eat free on Sunday. Awesome.
I did the 1/2 and 1/2 combo with is a deal where you can choice a 1/2 sandwich and either soup or salad. The bummer is that if you want the featured sandwich, the half and half deal is a buck more. So, I went with the chicken salad sandwich which was quite good. I picked the butternut squash soup which was super yummy - both kids had almost half of the bowl. Thankfully, it was a generous serving.
The staff behind the counter was quite young (like high school) but courteous and quick.

First thing, the door guy. Seriously, check him out - his profile is totally Brad Pitt in his "Legends Of The Fall" period.
Hit Little Branch last night with new friends I met at a conference. It is a teeny-ish space so they can only let a few people in at a time.
We only had to wait about 10 minutes to get in (while Psuedo Brad Bitt told us a great story about an obnoxious drunk). Down the stairs we went, to the sounds of a Jazz trio. Up to the bar, where I ordered and savored the most delicious Sloe Gin Fizz I have had, ever.
Actually got a table after a while, and once you are in the seating area the place seems much larger than it actually is. Love the silver (or pewter?) straw/swizzle stick combos. Did not know I could have bought one (thanks to the reviews here) so next time I am in town, I will totally do that.

I found the most adorable black and white notecards here. They have become my signature stationery for thank you notes and personal correspondence. Artfully also carries the Del Ray festival bags in September. Pair a card with a bar or box of chocolate from ACKC down the street and voila --- the perfect present.

Like the name implies, the condition of the clothing, bags and shoes here is close to prestine. My tip for true bargain hunters like myself is to head directly upstairs to the room that has the jeans on shelves on one wall and the evening dresses in a closet.
This magical room is where the $25 and under bag lives. And the sale rack. Everything else is priced a tad on the high side, especially for consignment/ vintage items. But the labels are designer for sure. Channel suit? Check. Barely worn Manolos? Double check.
Friendly but youngish staff, chill atmosphere (other than the "Security Cameras In Use, Shoplifters Will Be Prosecuted" signs, that is).

When I looked at the address of this place (on Yelp, of course) I thought it was actually in Del Ray. But, it really isn't. Look for the CVS across the street as your landmark.
Went here a week ago. We hadn't had good cajun/New Orleans style food since..well, a trip to New Orleans. Hubby had the pasta jumbalaya and was happy to find out it was served with a "red" sauce rather than a cream sauce. I was in the mood for seafood so I ordered the salmon. Really well cooked and the triple mustard sauce on it was yummilicious. I question the $20 per entree price, but the quality and authentic spiciness/flavor of the food are worth it...I guess.

We were served water the minute we sat down. Our server was super helpful, pointing out his favorites from the menu. I went with the pork loin, because -- well, how could I not when it was described as being marinated for more than 15 hours? Hubby got the chicken, a friend got the steak and frites and our other friend got the fish. Oh, and I had the amazing lobster ravioli appetizer while hubby had the cesar roulade. Both were really, really good.
Not sure what spices they put in the butter that is served with the fresh baked bread, but whatever they are, they are addictive.
