Service and food/drink usually pretty good. Not today. I ordered a mocha café au lait and a bagel and lox. The drink is good, but the lox does not taste fresh at all and it has brown spots on it. When I told an employee, they just shrugged it off. Very disappointing experience.

Thrifting and kitties all in one place? You really cannot beat that.

Overall, I really love SFOF. Their policies are very admirable. I wouldn't call them a "no-kill" shelter, as sometimes the only humane thing to do for a kitty in suffering is to euthanize it, but this is only in the most severe cases when there is literally no other choice. Unlike many other animal shelters, they never put a cat down for lack of room, behavioral problems, or health issues (both mild and severe) that can be treated. Their foster families are wonderful people who open their homes to kitties in need of a place to grow, heal, or wait for their chance at finding their forever home.

Also, Unlike most animal shelters that are so eager to move their animals in order to make room for new ones that they tend to gloss over many red flags of adoptive families, SFOF does everything in their power to make sure a potential adopter is suited for pet ownership, especially with regards to making sure a cat will be kept indoors unless otherwise specified and making sure they will not go through the torturous "declawing" operation that will leave the cat all but crippled for the rest of its life.

As for the thrift store, the prices are extremely reasonable. I bought two beautiful vases for $0.75, a pair of gently used cozy boots for $2.00, and a gorgeous 32/pc china set for a whopping $8.00! I even found a beautiful antique kimono in there recently. Now that's something you don't find every day!

All in all, this place is amazing. Great place to volunteer at, as well.

I came into some money recently for my birthday. Being an avid thrift shopper, I decided what better way to spend that money than an epic thrift shopping spree! Usually I stick to Goodwill, Friends of Felines, and the Humane Society thrift store downtown. However, having money to spend, I decided to expand my horizons a bit and try someplace new. I'd heard a lot of good things about VV and so I chose this as my new destination of choice.

The first thing I noticed upon walking into the store was an odd odor. Now, as I said, I am an avid thrift shopper. I am very accustomed to the usual thrift store smells of dust, musk, and bodily odors. However, this was something different. A sickly sweet. It took me a good five minutes to pinpoint the smell: vomit. I don't consider myself to be a snobby person, but shopping for clothing in a store that smelled like puke put me off a good deal. However, I persevered, determined to see for myself what all the hype is about.

As for the clothing itself, I found the selection to be pretty lacking. There were some things I thought were okay, but after an hour of combing through the racks I only came up with two items I thought were decent.

And this leads me to the prices. Holy crap was I misled. "Value" Village? That's almost laughable considering they priced well-worn jeans with holes in the hem at $14 and a plain off-brand mini skirt at $5. Sure they have the markdown half price of the day per color code, but a lot of the stuff wasn't worth even that.

In the end, I am giving this place one star because I did manage to find two items which I thought were decent enough to cough up the absurd price for. But overall, my experience here did not impress me and I really do not see myself shopping here again in the near future. Guess I will be sticking with my tried and true places after all.

I know this is only BK so true quality service is not to be expected, but I would at the very least expect to get the items I've paid for. This BK fails on that front very often.

Today we ordered a veggie burger, and a 2 for $5 whopper and chicken sandwich. We pull away and lo-and-behold, the chicken sandwich is nowhere to be seen. Even worse? They did not give us a receipt. So we parked and I ran in and re-ordered the chicken sandwich and also added on some sweet potato fries. Received the order and went back to the car. Again, they did not give us a receipt. Oh, and they totally forgot the fries.

We go here often but after this incident (on top of many others over the course of the last few years), we have decided to take our business elsewhere. This place is just not worth the inconvenience.

We were visiting from Salem and since my sister has been wanting to try Burgerville for awhile we decided to stop there for lunch. It was terrible. Not only was the employee rude but the food tasted worse than Burger King and cost twice as much. The only thing I liked was the fruit smoothie, and that's not enough to make me a repeat customer. Sorry.
