I refuse to try it as I care what my pizza tastes like and have been burned by Domino's too many times in the past, but I am curious.
In particular, I respect the honesty of their ad campaign and commercials where they're basically like- yeah, our pizza used to taste like shit and our sauce tasted like ketchup, but we fixed it and it's awesome now.
So is it really better or just different and still sub-par?1/4/2010 -

I used to order Domino's pizza here and there on West 8th Street when they had the 5-5-5 deal. 3 Medium Pizzas for $15 each with one topping.
Sometimes, you'z a broke.1/4/2010 -

Living in New York city and eating Dominos is akin to Tiger Woods ****ing ugly white trash trailor-tramps while married to a Swedish bikini model.

not every pizzeria in nyc is good and quite honestly i'd rather have domino's than some of the shit pizza i've had at more than a few "famous ray's pizza" spots in nyc.1/4/2010 -

Once you've had fresh mozzarella on your pizza, there's no turning back.

Yes I have tried it, that applique of garlic/herb on the crust is off putting.
I actually prefer the old recipe.1/4/2010 -

Better... but not by much. Seriously, it can't get any worse than the old one. I think it was 2 pies for 10 bucks which isn't bad when your liquored up. My wasted friend thought he was eating a jelly donut, I was the only one that remembered eating pizza on NYE. I need to try it again sober, everything tastes better when you got some drinks in you.

You can't be serious that you actually eat Domino's in NYC. UGGHH. You need to be SHOTTT. Ha.
They even say that people tell them the sauce tastes like ketchup in the commercial!

I used to think I liked domino's b/c it was what the fat kid like on goonies. he seemed so excited. I thought it was like a premium brand of pizza. then we got it one time and it sucked. I believe that is/was my last slice of domino's

What's crazy is that they're just now figuring out NOW that their pizza sucks. It's been sucking for decades.

Even though it's far from good pizza, I prefer the old Domino's pizza than the new one. Now the sauce tastes way too sweet for me.

Frankly, I haven't had Domino's for at least ten years when I was down south. I should give it a shot to see what all the noise is about. I've got John's Pizzeria down by Grand Ave, Avelino's in Rego Park and, not to mention, Nick's of Forest Hills. Pizza party anyone?

My brother ordered it just last week claiming that it was only $8 cus of some promotion. They then told him they won't deliver for under $10 and his order ended up being around $15 which is nearly double what he intended to originally spend. The pizza was horrible tasting. Yea it doesn't taste like ketchup anymore but that's because they loaded it up with garlic. Now it just tastes like garlicky pile of cheese and tomato sauce.

OK come on - Dominos is Dominos. I call it a Dominos Pizza as opposed to a Pizza made by Dominos because i feel that it is a standalone product.
Kinda like a McD's cheeseburger, which we all know, isn't a real hamburger (or atleast nothing like what we will drive miles for) - but its pretty damn good in its own category.
I am curious about the "new taste" as well though. Interesting: Dominos is rated #1 in Service but dead last in taste. Can't get much worse than dead last...1/5/2010 -

i tried it today... their hand tossed pie actually tastes pretty good. i got 2 pies (buy 1 large get 1 large free). the first pie was their new and improved hand tossed crust w/ pepperoni and green peppers. not bad at all
however, i made the mistake of ordering the 2nd pie with the thin and crispy crust (w/ olives and onions). it legit was no different from an elliot pizza. pretty gross, even for dominos standards.
if youre looking to order from dominos, order the hand tossed1/30/2010 -

Yes we have- and it's awesome.
I even had an issue with the buttery garlic crust.. my local one wasn't doing it. One stop by, and talk with the manager, straightened shit up.
I've begun to hate my local pizzaria's. freaking horrible, unreliable- and sometimes amazingly expensive. Fortunately I am off to get my FAVORITE pizza in 2 weeks.. in Michigan: louispizza.net1/30/2010 -

i just read a GQ article stating that Dominos' priority was always "convenience," and that taste was never even an afterthought. well, until now.

Because college students are in the habit of leaving Domino's pizza out for a couple of days and eating it, my friend got sick from their new recipe because, hell, it actually contains real, perishable food. I'll be damned whether that's a good or bad thing.
