Godfather's has had a complete makeover since my previous review in 2018! I stopped in for lunch today for the first time in 6 years and found a larger, better set up in general. I called my food in, specifically ordering their veggie pizza on traditional crust, and it was absolutely delicious. It was a touch greasy, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing. Good toppings, crust, cheese, and sauce (actual sauce you can taste) were all present; what more can you ask for with a franchise pizza? The staff there were also super helpful and friendly. They do appear to have increased their lunch buffet options including some meatless options. If you come in for a buffet lunch here, and you do not intend to eat meat, I think you will do just fine. If you have time to order a special pizza be made, you will do swimmingly.
This is a very specific review, so it may well not apply to you. As a vegetarian, the lunch buffet offers very little.
I came here on a 30 minute lunch break because it is very close to my office and their ad boasts unlimited pizza, pasta, and salad. Pizza was clearly their primary focus, it was constantly being refreshed while I was there. Unfortunately for me and anyone else who doesn't eat meat, there was no cheese or veggie pizza on the buffet, there were absolutely no pasta options anywhere, and the salad bar was maintained at a very low priority.
They did have mixed greens as well as iceberg lettuce, various pizza toppings repurposed as salad toppings, carrots, cucumbers, and a few dressings on the salad bar; it's not the worst I've seen, but also nothing to get excited about.
Even with the $1 off coupon from their ad, I had what amounted to a very expensive and lackluster salad with some bread sticks in dipping sauce. I have no doubt that their pizza was fresh and delicious, it is a shame that they didn't think to have any meatless options. Who knows about the phantom pasta? With only 30 minutes to spare, it isn't like I could put in a special request.
Just as a sidenote: This place is tiny, they claim to be able to seat 30, but it looked packed with less than 15. You will not be impressed with the leg room. You will also eat on paper plates with plastic forks, which I'm sure is a necessity because they lack room and staff to deal with washing dishes at that volume.
Fast and helpful service, our tacos were out in a flash and super tasty. Absolutely everything about my grilled Portabella Fajita taco was perfect! He even picked out the onions from the pepper and onion mix because it is the one vegetable I don't like! (Onion is a spice, not an ingredient.) My wife ordered the Slammin' Salmon, and 100% loved it as well. One taco would be sufficient for a light lunch, but we said "no, thanks" to light and immediately went back for more; it was delicious gluttony and we regret nothing!
Vegetarian Ramen, right on the menu?! Absolutely.
Picture this, it is Sunday in the middle of the day, and I've just finished hiking at the nature center with my little girl. She's tired and hungry; I'm tired and hungry. My four year old daughter and I are both vegetarians, so finding a restaurant on a Sunday isn't easy. Omo was PERFECT!
Our server was great, our food was fast and fresh, and I didn't have to order off-menu to satisfy my ultra-picky kiddo. This was her first *real* ramen experience. To her, "ramen" is the noodles that come out of a plastic sleeve with a powder packet. She was absolutely delighted to discover this place, and she wants to go back here all the time.
We've been back twice, and we'll be back again.
I came here on a whim, as I thought alcohol in a milkshake in the middle of the day sounded exactly like the kind of thing I ought to do on my day off with the wife. I was right. The whiskey infused shake made up for their odd rustic decor and overly meat-a-tarian menu.
I would have given a 3 star review myself, as their "bean veggin' out" veggie burger was a very weak comparison to my wife's meaty burger. They are also obsessed with mayonnaise, and I'm a mustard man. But, the fries, and the sheer joy on my wife's face while eating, brought me up to a reluctant 4 stars. I hear, through the social media grape-vine, that some of their locations have other vegetarian options that are superior. I'll update once I've tried those, if they are any better.
Came for "The Impossible Burger" and had a "Hippy Burger" (black bean burger) for comparison. My wife and I split them, having half of each. We ended up ordering a 2nd impossible burger to share because it was so damn good! Their fries were also perfect; right on par with Black Sheep's fries but not quite as fancy.
I feel like this place hasn't found its identity yet, but I love all the Vegetarian options on their menu. On a continuum between fast food and fancy-schmancy, The Grotto is way closer to the fast food side! The decor is sparse, the menu is incomplete, you order at a counter and take your buzzer to a table and wait. The food, however, was not just fast, it was fantastic.
Overall, this is a great place to take mixed company of eaters as they have a little of everything and lots of options at a fair price point. I would go again.
