What/Why:

Do you love the Oakland dining scene? How about the music one? Yelp is teaming up with some of the tastiest Oakland restaurants and some of the best local DJs for a week of beats and eats.

Special menus, complimentary chef's gifts, a live DJ spinning up some of the freshest beats; expect a unique week of dining out.

The deal: Each day/night a different Oakland restaurant will feature a special 'Beats And Eats' menu at a discounted rate. Check in on your Yelp app at any participating restaurant to receive an additional complimentary chef's gift.

A live DJ will be at each venue for a certain time (see below) serving up sweet beats go with the eats. Never fear: Even if you miss the DJ set, the menu will be available throughout the corresponding day.

Open to anyone and everyone. Seats will fill up fast -- especially during those DJ times -- so don't delay. Secure your spot and book your table with Yelp Reservations!

How to make an online reservation? Click on the Yelp listing next to the restaurant you are interested in visiting. On the right hand side, there is a place to make a reservation through Yelp! Super easy and convenient!

Beats And Eats Menu: Menu for 2: $35.
- Executive sausage platter of 3 with accoutrements and a pretzel
- Complimentary chef's gift with a Yelp check-in (per person): Ice cream float (3 options: root beer, cold brew (affogato), or beer.)
Musical Theme: Honky Tonk, folky tunes - think Johnny Cash, Dolly Parton, maybe some Elvis and more.

- Live DJ from 8-10pm.
- Menu for 2 -  $35 dollars.
Ahi Tuna Poke with Avocado - sea beans, macadamias, scallions

Mu Bing - spicy thai pork skewers, smoked peanuts, sticky rice
BT Wings - tiger sauce

    What style of beats, downtempo mostly?  Cool idea but I'd be more interested if I could see who the DJ was.. maybe a link to their SoundCloud page.

    I went on the restaurant website to book a reservation. I couldn't book through the method suggested. it said that all was booked. Is that OK? I still want to be included with the Yelp culture however, I didn't want to miss out. It seems like it'll be totally fun. I also had to use a credit card on hold for the place too. I think it's because of the amount of people in my party. IDK.. Please help :)

    Hi Keenia! So menus will be offered all day! The live DJ portion 2 hour period will fill up fast, so I'd imagine it may be getting close to that if not already there. If a restaurant says it's full, it may be full, I'd call to confirm. That's how it goes with restaurants! :) And yes, some restaurants do ask for a credit card to hold, to avoid those no-shows! That is at the discretion of each restaurant.

    There is only 1 event during the day on the weekend, and it's only 2 hours long.  This would have been fun if there was more availability.

    Hi Brendan! Thanks so much for the feedback! We agree! :) This is our first attempt at something like this, so we're testing the waters and seeing the demand before we recruit more businesses on board (especially during their most crowded times.)
