I never thought I'd be writing a great review for a car dealership, but here I am! I had the pleasure of working with Kipp Dawson at Hayward Honda while purchasing a car with my mom. I called into the dealership asking for more information on two specific cars I was interested in, and they connected me with Kipp. We chatted over the phone and then continued conversations over text. He was straightforward, friendly, and overall super easy to work with. I never felt any pressure to buy and instead felt like he was helping us get all the details needed to make our decision and move at a pace we were comfortable with.
After test driving the car (another easy process) and making the decision to buy, it was smooth sailing. Paperwork was fast and easy - all under Covid protocols too. It almost happened so fast that I was surprised when it was over! I've gotten so used to the ridiculous 3+ hours of back and forth to get the best price that it was amazing to walk in and out with a great deal and such efficiency.
I also spoke with a few other folks during my visit, and everyone was super friendly. I would definitely recommend Hayward Honda, which I believe is privately owned. I brought my car in for a maintenance check on my Honda CRV. Savannah was quick to assist and helped me get my car into service. Hayward Honda quickly finished my car's oil change and routine checkup within 1.5 hours. This was quicker than the 4 hours wait I had when I brought my car into Honda San Leandro for a simple oil change... So that is a major plus!
When I picked up my car, Savannah was helpful enough to quickly walk me through the inspection with detail. Break pad rating, tire thread rating, fluid levels, etc. It was helpful for me to understand how to better care for my car. Review for Honda Service. I came here for the first time for an oil change and general maintenance. Savannah helped me through the whole process and answered all my questions. I'll definitely come back again for maintenance. Compared to the 2 LA Honda dealerships I went to, this dealership is more organized and professional.
After my appointment, they asked if I wanted to change my engine and dashboard filter for $195 but I ended up saving that for the future.

SALES REVIEW ONLY*
I had set my mind on a 2024 CRV Honda Hybrid and contacted multiple Honda's in the Bay Area. I did end up purchasing from Hayward Honda because of Ferdinand 'Bong'.
Initially, a rep from Hayward Honda had contacted me and I went down twice. I don't know what he thought, but he wasn't taking me seriously and wasn't willing to negotiate the price and I felt he was trying to upsell me. I don't know if it was the fact I was a woman car shopping or what, but I did not enjoy that experience. (If you want his name, message me)
Ferdinand 'Bong' reached out to my father and sold us on a great deal solely over the phone. We went on the same day and honestly, 15/10 experience working with him. He listens and tries to get you the best deal, which he did for us. He's also welcoming and doesn't talk down to you, which I appreciate. He understood we were here to take a car home and worked his magic. Highly recommend going to him for your car purchase.

The easiest and friendliest car buying experience I ever had, my advisor Ilia made the whole process super simple and it felt like he was doing it for a family member. He showed us a bunch of cool convenience features on the mobile app that added even more value to being a new Honda owner. Also they had a great vehicle selection, we were able to get exactly what we wanted without any compromise, and the price was right! Also Jay and the desk manager were very helpful and answered all of our questions and made us feel valued!!! Thank you guys!!!!!

So, I just recently bought two (2) cars at this dealership. I previously bought two (2) other cars from here too and I do believe they may have changed ownership. I will say the buying experience here was just okay. The reason for the lost star is because I traded in a vehicle and received fastrak violations on the license plate. I contacted them and they said you need to talk to financing and put me on hold. Left me sitting on hold up to the point where the phone just disconnected. Called back and they picked up and hung up instantly. Quite interesting that they will try and get you in when buying but as soon as you need something after the sale they disappear. All I was trying to do is have them email me proof that they took possession of the car was and it was no longer mine because fastrak requires it.

Apr 5, 2016Previous reviewSo, I have visited this dealership for various things; such as purchasing vehicles and service. So here it goes-
Their service department has been quite fast when providing service and I haven't had any problems. The only concern I have is their price for service is higher than other dealerships. Makes me wonder, as I have no answer to their method or tactics of pricing their service.
Now their sales, I have had worked with this dealership on three new car purchases. I would have to say the people who have helped me, non management, have been great. I have never felt pressured by them. Although I feel at times they can provide me a better price for my trade in and a better price on my purchase, they have let me leave to see if I could find a better deal some where else.
So all in all, this place can be fair, with a sales team that has been great. At times, it may feel as if they are hustling you because they have to be the middlemen for their management team. If you have ever purchased a new vehicle, you know it is management who determines the price of your trade in and purchase price. So don't hold the sales rep accountable, most of the times they are sincere and just want to make a sale, but become the bad guy because of their management.
One thing I know is dealerships are out to make money, just like any other business. I can only recommend that you shop around do your homework and try to strike the best overall deal for you.

I came there to purchase my lease, They said that I had to finance and purchase products in order for them to finalize my deal. I asked for general manager they gave me store number. Then I asked for corporate email then they gave me Ken@haywardhonda.com. Gave me wrong info again. This is so that I don't talk to corporate so they could cheat their customers.I would never do business with this shady company even though Honda financial told me that they would take care of us.

Every awful stereotype of a car dealer, be it used or new, fulfilled. "A.K." Is a lazy liar who embarrasses the entire Honda company. He assured me over the phone that they had exactly the models I wanted to test drive (and buy one of!). Once I was at the lot, none were there. He told me they MIGHT be at "his other lot". He supposedly drove there --in his Lexus!--and when he got back, he told me that lot was closed, 2 hours before their official closing time. !?! At this point, I couldn't trust him even if he ended up with exactly the car I wanted. Never again...

Called in today to purchase a new car. We spoke to Cesar Sandoval and he let us know to come in right away. We came in this morning and he showed us a test drive of a Honda Civic. We were very happy from his early greeting until the very end of the purchase. Cesar is professional and a very happy person to make a purchase with. He made everything easy as possible for upon our arrival and final purchase. I highly recommend anyone coming here and looking for a car to ask for Cesar. He is very thorough with numbers and got us a good deal. Where have we been all our vehicle purchases? Cesar is the way to go at Hayward Honda! There was no hesitation with his work. Best experience ever for a car purchase! I have been leasing cars for over ten years, and Manoj "Ron" Guragain from Hayward Honda was spot on. The car that I had agreed upon, a CR-V EX AWD, after many communications, was waiting for me at the front when I arrived. The price quoted was the price given. Unfortunately, I had a negative experience at a different Honda dealership the night before. I'm so glad I met Ron. He made the process seamless and was true to his word. That's all a customer asks for: transparency and to be treated with respect... and Ron delivered.
