One of the better quality to value omakases you can get in greater orlando. Note this would be an omakase in the traditional sense of nigri, handroll and a soup at the end, chef's choice. You'll find a beautiful selection of various fish, and I would highly recommend their standard omakase for your first time - 10 pieces of nigri, one handroll, and a miso soup to finish. Best way to eat it here is unadulterated - eat it how it's served, with ginger in between to refresh that palette. They excel at their white fish, and their scallop is out of this world.

The name is also creative - I'm a sucker for creative, punny names. With the majority of their name being 'Origami', each of their sushi is served on a beautiful origami paper. Nori means seaweed in japanese, which isn't always utilized in their selection, but I appreciate the pun nonetheless.

A point is docked for mainly two things - one, maybe since this restaurant is a stall in a food stall, they don't serve tap water. This is a bit jarring for us Americans as we don't really want to spend money on water. But if you're planning on getting a beer a few stores down anyways, they do partner with Crooked Can, and they'll bring your drink right to you. The other is their Toro (fatty tuna) is a bit hit or miss - sometimes, a bit chewy (not ideal), others, nice and buttery. They do source their toro from Mexico tuna, so not sure if that's a factor to quality, but in comparison to Edobody's toro, there's a difference.

Overall, if I plan on being in winter garden, I tend to make an effort to make a reservation for this place.

This MONTHLY event needs more love than it gets! You get a free movie at the park (Central Park) at Winter Park off Park Ave. They set up at the stage across from the street from Briarpatch. They normally start at 7pm or 8pm (depending on when the sun sets) and you'll always see plenty of people with their picnic blankets, lounge chairs, or whatever comfortable devices you sit/lay on!

It's hosted by the Enzian, a non-profit movie theater in Maitland (also highly recommend going there and supporting the arts, the theater is really nice there). They provide the vibes, as well as popcorn, so what excuse do you have to not go?? I love how they play a lot of popular but older movies that I probably wouldn't select on my Netflix rotation, so it's always a pleasant experience finding myself enjoying the movies more than I would have thought. They also rotate some more popular and modern movies as well (Shrek is playing this May!) so go find a nice spot, bring some friends, and enjoy!

Used to really love this place when it was under the radar and less presumptuous, but ever since it's promo in Somebody Feed Phil, they've gotten much more stingy that I miss the original Crocante that we fell in love with.

In the past, you could get a heaping plate of rotisserie chicken, two sides with cornbread and dipping sauce. Now, you just get the chicken dressed on a brand new stone plate, chopped nicely in an aesthetic way (100% feels like less chicken but I wasn't going to Lego them back together), with another plate for the side to live on.

NO!! Give me my plate of loaded, delicious food! Make it messy just the way it should be!! Grr. Service was also so bad - waiter was rarely there, and water was never refilled. So if you're trying to, you know, go "elevated" - then the service needs to match. You can't just make everything look fancy and get rid of half the plate, yet keep the same bad service that is typically correlated with delicious and cheap food. The patron is losing out here in all aspects.

Well, at the very least, the food quality is still spot on. Tostones are amazing, and so are the maduros. Chicken is very delicious as well. I'm not sure that's enough to come back nor bring out of town guests here again, and will try to find another hole in the wall.

We had as good an experience as one could have bringing a pet in for an emergency. For us, our little bunny was seizing non-stop for over an hour before we decided to make the hour trip from Orlando to this 24/7 clinic (closest one that could accept specialty animals). We arrived tired, sad, and beaten at 2am, trying to hold our bunny still as she continued her spasms.

Doing our own research on the way there, we knew things probably didn't look good for our bunny, so we were already set on knowing what we had to do to relieve her of the pain. When we arrived, it was empty, and the receptionist immediately took a look at the situation and started the process quickly. Our bunny was taken into the back even before we were fully checked in.

The receptionist asked if we wanted the vet to stabilize our bunny. We weren't too sure what that meant, but if there was a chance to calm her spasms and see if there was more to be done, we would, so we paid the $600 stabilization fee. I think it took about 15-20 minutes before we were then taken to the back to meet with the diagnosis, which generally wasn't good. They proposed a bill of $6k+ to run a bunch of tests and were honest to us that they could run all of these, and our bun still could have a poor quality of life or even pass. So we asked to put her to sleep peacefully and were able to hold and spend our last moments with her before they took her away for the injection. They offered us some options for how we wanted to bring her home, which included cremation services, but we just wanted to have her back and bury her in our garden that had her favorite basil that she munched on. She was returned to us in a simple box, and we went home.

The thing that stuck out the most that made me need to review and leave a strong 5 stars, was that contrary to most of the negative reviews I was reading about the place only caring about money, was that before we left, the technician mentioned we may get some of the $600 stabilization fee back since we ended up putting our bunny down. I didn't really understand the details of it, and honestly didn't expect them to follow through, but I thanked her and left and forgot about that conversation.

A few months later, we received a call from the clinic asking if our credit card on file was still valid/current, as they were going to process that refund that was mentioned so long ago. We ended up receiving almost 1/3 of the fee back. They could have easily "forgotten" or even not mentioned this when we were there and pocketed the full amount, but they didn't. I really appreciated the thoughtfulness in what should have been a capitalistic transaction, and I would come here for emergency services again if I generally knew what was needed.

Honestly, I kinda love this place. It's retained its retro vibes which is a blast in the past for me. So the fact that it's outdated isn't really an issue as they lean into that aesthetic.

The prices are fair ($7.50 for a matinee) and food is on par with other big cinema. Popcorn was pretty solid so no issues here. Seats are older but still comfy, and cinema was definitely not crowded so pretty for when you want a more private viewing space.

Screens are pretty good, and sound is loud. So it's a solid movie experience all in. We paid less than $25 for a large popcorn and two adult matinee tickets for a movie at 3pm on Saturday.

I just wish they'd do something about the dead mall it's in! So sad to see what's happening at fashion square. There's just so much dead space with the interior with the movie theater being one of the most busiest stores here. Make it an experience venue or demo a portion of it to just get more heads into the building!
