I don't know how many good things I could say about double zero! My boyfriend and I have been coming here for about 2 years ever since our first visit to San Fran. We usually order the Caesar salad (served on large romaine heart chunks yummm) with delicious Gran Padano cheese and extra lemon. Their dressing has anchovies but if you don't like them you can hardly tell. Then we get the Margherita Pizza of course can't go wrong, and the Castro pizza with soppressata and sausage and yumminess all over it!!! My favorite drink is the Paradox with sparkling wine and pear liquor and whatnot mmm but not only is the delicious food incredible, the restaurant itself is absolutely gorgeous and the service is top notch! I'm sorry I don't know his name but lately we've had the bartender who kind of looks like Kobe Bryant and he's awesome :D sometimes you need to make a reservation on weekends or there might be a 20-30 min wait. But you can usually find a seat at the bar where they serve the whole menu! So 5 stars to the yummy pizza, drinks, service, atmosphere and 00 flour! :)

Came here for a large family birthday dinner, and it was really great! The food took a while to come, but the appetizers were totally worth it! We got the Stoner Garlic Bread, which was a cheesy extravagance, along with the broccolini, and potatoes. We also got the Margherita Pizza, and the Lemon Ricotta Ravioli, both of which were awesome!! Would definitely recommend this place for larger groups for a great Italian meal!

After a long day of meetings and running around I needed a place to eat near my hotel (SF Marriott Marquis). My friend Dan who lives in the city recommended this restaurant. Upon entering this establishment you see the high ceilings and long glass mirror behind the bar to give you a grand entrance. The use of a lot of windows makes the room feel expansive. My friend Kaori and I were hungry so decided to share two entrees. We went with the short rib pasta and a margherita pizza. We loved both. The short rib pasta was tasty and very tender. The pizza was oozing with flavor with the perfect crust. Soft but crispy on the ends. We both had martinis to complement the food. Lastly we ended our meal experience with the homemade cannoli's. Our server was excellent! Very friendly, hospitable and responsive.

The Margherita pizza I ordered was only ok, unfortunately. I really wanted to like it bc I LOVE Neapolitan pizza and there aren't a lot of great options in SoMa for it. Sadly, this was a bit of a let down. The dough actually was pretty on point and had a good chew (it could have been more tender/airy but it was serviceable) and the cheese wasn't bad but the sauce is what ruined it for me. Tasted like watered down canned pasta sauce and didn't have any of the depth, umami, or sweetness that a good red sauce should have. Didn't even compare to most pizza sauces you could get off the shelf at the grocery stores, frankly :/ I don't mean to be harsh but that's just the truth.
Service was fast, kind and COVID-conscious though, so kudos to the staff! -

This restaurant is very close to the meteron and Yerba Buena center. It is also a short walk from the Powell shopping area. I had been meaning to try this place for quite some time, and I figured the best way to experience everything was to go with a group. I started off with a sweet cocktail, the inner sunset. It was the perfect balance of sweet and refreshing. We good the arancini appetizer which was the perfect small bite with 5 pieces. The black garlic aioli was so nicely done - I ended up licking the spoon because I could've bare to leave any behInd. We got the risotto from the specials menu and man was it special. Al dente all the way and I could taste the truffle. We also got a spaghetti pasta that was recommended by the chef - we got it less spicy for those of us with weak spice tolerances. They do have extra chili oil to sprinkle on for those who need it. We also got 2 pizzas. My favorite was the margherita pizza. We got the more expensive one because our server recommended the one with the special cheese. The portions were small and the prices steep though, so if I had gone there hungry, I might have been a little disappointed. -

What a fantastic joint for cocktails and carbs! We came here on the last night of our work trip to San Fran and it was the best way to cap off the trip getting to know my colleagues and peers.
The decor is fantastic, the bar really highlights their selection of great alcohol and wines and their cocktail menu reflects those selections. We ordered a giant mezcal punch bowl that all 8 of us were able to share and have multiple servings. Many of us also ordered wine later on in our meal as well.
For food we ordered the following appetizers:
- Veal and pork meatballs
- Bruschetta (two orders)
- Brussel sprouts
All the orders, except the bruschetta (they only come with three servings, so we ordered two dishes) were enough to go around the table and satisfy everyone's taste buds. My favourite was the meatballs because they had the perfect mix of sauce to meat ratio and the meatballs themselves were not too dry like you find in many italian restaurants.
For the mains we ordered the following pizzas:
- Margherita
- Colombus with prosciutto, mushrooms and mozzarella
- Golden Gate with grilled pineapple, Calabrese sausage and pickled red onion
- Geary with Manilla clams, bacon and calabrian chile
My favourite was the Golden Gate as it has the most flavour of all of the pizzas we ordered.
I can't wait to come back to the city and try this place again. -

I like the vibes of this place - dark and somewhat intimate depending on how large your party is. I came here with a group of 4 friends and we ordered a few different dishes to try together, including the squid ink conchiglie, margherita pizza and Fillmore pizza. The Fillmore pizza was my favorite, as I'm a huge fan of mushrooms, cheese and garlic on my pizza. The pizzas are a very decent size and can be shared between two people with leftovers as well. I also tried the Terroir cocktail (gin, huckleberries, basil, lemon) which was very tasty. If you're a fan of gin and a fruitier drink, I would recommend this one. If you're looking for a drink with a more relaxing vibe, go for the Hoshigaki Hot Toddy. The persimmon infused brandy really ties the drink together; it's super smooth and warming to the belly.

I went there with some friends, and we had a dinner reservation. There was construction in the area that made it difficult to get to the restaurant so we were about 10 minutes late. The staff was super accommodating and seated us right away despite this.
The food was amazing! We shared 3 pizzas between 4 of us. They were perfectly balanced with every topping complementing the rest of the pizza. We got the margherita di bufala pizza and it was so creamy! We also got another pizza with prosciutto, and the last pizza was more meaty- but I can't recall their names. They were all amazing! Their wine list complemented the pizzas beautifully.
For catching up, the ambiance at this restaurant was ideal. I would definitely recommend it and will go back soon! -
So glad I went to Zero Zero over other SF pizza choices especially knowing the upstairs was booked for a private party and they said they could not take another reservation until 8pm - I was lucky to grab a seat at the bar for dinner!!
The halibut crudo was absolutely delicious!! I'd go back for just that dish alone! The margherita pizza was outstanding! Great service, decent wine selection - some good Italian wines that I was not familiar with.
If you like Neapolitan pizza - you have to go! -

Great casual dining! We had a Cabernet on tap while waiting for our table: delicious! Started with the beet salad which had cooked red beets, ribbons of yellow beets, frisée, pear and ricotta chunks in a light dressing: wonderful. We then had the pizza of the day: a margherita with sundries tomatoes and artichokes. Yummy with a fantastic crust. We went for two desserts: the vanilla soft serve with a Chile caramel topping (phenomenal) and the doughnut with a blueberry coulis (gourmet zeppole) Great service on top of the good food!

This is a rounded up review... 2.5 stars out of 5.
Their pizzas are 12" thin crust pies and they feed about 1-1.5 people. We ordered the Margherita and Golden Gate. The Margherita was bland and not very saucy, but the dough had a pleasant chewy texture. The Golden Gate had good flavor from the garlic and red onion, but the dough was thin to the point of tasting like a flaky hollow cracker in some parts of the pizza, but fared just fine in other parts. All in all, each bite seemed to present more surprises: I didn't know whether to expect a thin crust or a dough-ey crust next.
Then came dessert. We ordered the tiramisu, which came out dry and lacked an even texture throughout. While the bottom cake layer came out flaky, the top layer came out moist in some parts and dry in others. The mascarpone, rum, and whipped cream mixture was hard and tough. I expected it to taste softer, with a more airy texture ("whipped").
IN SUMMARY: Inconsistency is a consistency here. Does that make sense? They are consistently inconsistent with the way they prepare their food, and it was evident in the number of different textures I found in a single dish multiple times that night. -
My coworker recommended this place a while back and I was working across the street and finally had an opportunity to try it.
I ordered carry out so cant really comment on the dining experience. I got the margherita di bufala pizza and flavor wise it was everything a quintessential margherita pizza should be. The crust was thin and foldable with a nice smokey char, the sauce light and sweet, and buffalo mozzarella creamy.
Being said despite the flavor being on point it was pricey and more of a snack size personal pizza. I ate it by myself and could have easily eaten 2 of them when I wasnt even overly hungry at the time. After tax and standard tip it ended up running me a bit over 30 bucks for a cheese pizza most of which didnt have any of the buffalo mozzarella which I paid extra to upgrade to on it.
Great flavor profile but now that iv crossed it off my list I'm unlikely to return. Pizza isnt a fine dining food where I'm used to eating 30 bucks worth and still being hungry when I'm a thin dude. -

The best pizza joint in San Francisco, bar none. Each pizza had excellent crust, fresh toppings, and tasty sauce. For 2, we always order:
- Taleggio stuffed arancini: Creamy, crunchy, cheesy, delicious crispy rice appetizer. Must order!
- Margherita pizza: A classic and we prefer this over the Marghertia di bufala which has too many toppings and makes the pizza soggy and limp. If you're feeling for something heartier and cheesier, do the Margherita di bufala. Otherwise, the standard Margherita is less heavy
- Castro: Their meat lovers pizza packed with sausage and sopressata
Portion-wise, I'd order a minimum of 2 pizzas for 2 people. The slices are thinner than your average commercial pizza but every bite is filled with flavor and quality ingredients you can taste. The dough has an airy almost light mochi-like consistency.
The service is always top notch and with a reservation we're always seated immediately. Keep in mind it's loud inside but the location easily accommodates large parties. -

I was looking for a nice lunch spot near the Moscone convention center to take my guest from Denmark to lunch while at a convention. The Yelp reviews did not disappoint. This was one of the better pizza places that I've been to anywhere. For the four of us, we had the Columbus pizza which had prosciutto and mushrooms, the Castro which had sausage and salami, and a simple Margherita pizza. The quality of the pizza was excellent and my friend from Denmark was impressed! Service was good and the ambience was definitely upscale for a pizza place. I would highly recommend this as a lunch spot near the convention center. Although we did not drink at this lunch meeting, the bar is fully stocked and quite attractive.

I just love pizza so much... but honestly, who doesn't? I absolutely love Neapolitan style pizza and the ones and Zero Zero do not disappoint! The crust is perfectly cooked to perfection and the breading is just SOOO good. With a lining that thin, you'd expect it to lose it's form, but NO this one holds up just fine when picking up a slice!
I've only tried the Margherita so I can't comment on all the other options they offer. But the Margherita might be one of the top ones I've tried so far... and I've tried plenty! -

Stumbled upon this place while I was out with some friends and so glad we tried it! Amazing food and cozy ambiance with dim lighting. Our table by the bar was very comfortable and we were able to finish watching the Warriors game. Very happy with the service as well. It was super busy, but our waitress was still attentive and frequently checked in with us.
We shared the Prime Beef Carpaccio, Kale & Farro Salad, Margherita di Bufala Pizza, Geary Pizza (clams and bacon), and a bottle of 2014 Ca' Di Pian Barbera D' Asti. The ingredients of each dish were so fresh and paired very well. The aioli on the Carpaccio was a nice touch and this was my favorite dish. Both pizzas were delicious, but I highly recommend the Margherita di Bufala. Buffalo mozzarella is a game changer. I'm a big fan of the crust on their pizzas. The wine was a northern Italy recommendation from our waitress. It went down very smoothly so it was great to drink with all the food. -

We made a last minute reservation to eat at Zero Zero for a Thursday evening. When I called, they seemed pretty restrictive on what they had available but when we got there ~30 minutes before our reservation, we were seated immediately and there were plenty of open tables.
We ordered the margherita pizza with pepperoni. It came out pretty quickly and tasted fresh and flavorful. The crust was thin but not too flimsy. We enjoyed our meal and would likely stop by again for a quick pizza. -

Ate here for a work dinner and had a prix fixe menu since there were about 25 of us & 1 check. Food was served family style: servers brought arancini (delicious with a tangy sauce & arugula); Caesar salad; bruschetta (not a fan...had chickpeas with a tomato sauce rather than just traditional tomatoes with basil); 3 different pizzas: Fillmore (mushrooms, leeks, garlic, mozzarella); Margherita; and Castro (sopresatta, sausage). Desserts: chocolate & vanilla ice cream; fried donut holes; & brownies.
Service was great even w/a large party. New plates & flatware were replaced after each course. Restaurant was packed on a Monday night around 6pm. All the food was great (not so much on the bruschetta but I'm pretty traditional & to each their own).
Highly recommend! Also, nice ambiance with dark wood, two floors & an open kitchen. -

Limited menu, but very tasteful. Margherita pizza is one of the best I've had.
The chickpeas toast appetizer was good as well ( though, they should've warmed the chick peas)
The tiramisu was, again, one of the better ones I've tasted.
