I had the 3 course lunch with scallop, skate and pistachio dessert and it was such a nice lunch! The dessert was unexpectedly amazing and the scallops were amazing. I would go back to try their other menu for dinner. Servers were very attentive and the interior is luxurious!

Truly memorable! We decided to celebrate our anniversary and were more than pleasantly surprised by the food and service. Although we arrived a bit early, we were seated right away and given adequate time to review the menu. Our server was very engaging and helpful in explaining the options and answering any questions. The sommelier was quite helpful and also very knowledgeable in helping my with beverage selections. Every aspect of the meal was executed with precision. All team members on the floor were so keenly observant to provide assistance at every moment and we really felt like this was an expertly crafted dining adventure.
Some of the standouts for us, Tuna app, Shellfish Medley, Skate, Merluza and then Pistachio dessert. (We did the Prix Fixe and were definitely more than satisfied!)
We greatly appreciated the additional dessert with a candle and well wishes to help celebrate the occasion--bravo Le Bernardin! -

3 Michelin Star Restaurant, VERY WELL DESERVED!!! We had a wonderful time experiencing the atmosphere, the food, the service, and being among others who truly enjoyed the experience as well.
There is a DRESS CODE! make sure to dress appropriately (especially for men!) I called a couple times just to make sure we weren't breaking any rules, but I know that no sneakers and no short sleeves were on the list, collard shirts required. I believe a jacket was not required at this time (probably because it's summer ).
Thank you to the staff who really took great care of us and helped us with their opinions! Every single staff member's priority at Le Bernardin was the customer.
The staff were so professional and so polite and were very good at timing everything. The waiters knew everything about the menu and didn't have to go back and check.
The staff also took note of any food allergies or restrictions which in my opinion makes the evening so much better rather than sitting worrying all night long.
Nothing about this place gave you the pretentious vibe; not by those dining and not by the staff either.
We had Devan & Matthieu and both were very delightful and made the evening very special for us.
We did the Prix Fixe Menu and every single dish on that menu was amazing!!!
We had a hard time choosing our dishes because every option sounded amazing!
We opted for more of the light fish. Every dish was a whole presentation! We loved every minute of it and every bite!!
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE DISHES WE HAD!
Next time I come back I definitely want to try the Whole Snapper as a main course!
FIRST COURSE (Almost Raw), we had:
Tuna- layers of thinly pounded yellowfin Tuna, Foie Gras, Toasted Baguette, Chives.
Fluke- Marinated Fluke ceviche with Thai basil, cilantro, like infused olive oil, langoustine, and lobster.
(Barley Touched), we had:
Langoustine- sautéed Langoustine; petite Mãche salad, Truffles Cream and Mushroom - Balsamic Vinaigrette.
Lobster- poached lobster; summer vegetable medley, miso-sake lobster broth.
MAIN COURSE (Lightly Cooked), we had:
DOVER SOLE- Pan Roasted Dover Sole; Green Olives, Toasted Almonds; Aged Sherry Wine Emulsion
SKATE- Poached Skate; Pickled Tiny Sweet Peppers and Fried Capers, Dill Basmati Rice, Brown Butter Sauce
DESSERT
The Caramel & The Pistachio
We were also brought a little sampler plate of Pineapple Macaroon, Strawberry Bon-Bon, Marshmallow, and chocolate peanut butter.
DRINKS
I had the Lemon Drop & Black Tea at the end of the evening. -

I was there with my wife and son, to celebrate my son's birthday. Needless to say, we went with big expectations to find something eclectic and exquisite. Instead we met with mediocre food (except for dessert) that made us leave with great sadness. Let me first begin with the ethos and then the details of the dishes. We expected french food in a french restaurant, but got what seemed to be fusion with Japanese food that seriously lacked the respect for the heritage of the latter. Identify yourself first! I am a scientist and in my parlance we call this dilettante. I hope chefs use the same word with the same meaning. Now food: the Starters. The Tuna doesn't go with foie gras, seriously lacked a touch of salt, the first foie gras I had in life that was imperceptible, I hope it was there. And with baguette to provide texture to this pounded fish, seriously! Pounding a tuna to a scallopini is blasphemous to the Japanese food culture. Tuna-urchin was good, but overly salty and not something unique. Try using more fatty parts of the tuna. As for using fat- channel some french cuisine here. Poached lobster was seriously tasteless, dry and tough. Is there a shortage of butter in the city? Sea trout on yuzu rice- in a french restaurant that seems to have zero idea of how to cook rice- let alone Japanese rice. The fish was again overcooked and tasteless and the rest of the accompaniment was a pointless and futile effort of fusion. Main course: the duck was seriously mediocre- the sauce- meh, and the duck meat itself was chewy. This was the only truly European dish, and it simply shouldn't be of that quality, in any French restaurant of repute. Finally, the Skate. One of my favorite fish, I fell in love with skate in a restaurant in Venice, the butter-caper sauce with skate is the way to be- anything else- not worth it. Stick to the classics, they are there for a reason and some things you simply don't touch, because it's not you- there were thousands of years of evolution with better men than ourselves who gave everything to come up with these. Here the caper was moved to some half-cooked basmati rice, which completely ruined the fish. Oh, did I say the fish was overcooked- thanks to someone's brilliant idea of removing the cartilage to make the fish look like some characterless cod or halibut! The dessert chef saved the day for us. Nothin exquisite, perhaps, but simply very good. All in all, this restaurant appears to have become a tourist attraction that needs to rethink the philosophy and pay respect to where it belongs.

I'm surprised I haven't written a review of this place. I came here almost two years ago but it was so amazing I still remember. I came for lunch just a couple days before thanksgiving and it was fantastic, the skate dish (family of ray fish) was so good. It was tender and the sauce was prefect with the good balance of fat and acid. The dessert was to die for as well although I don't remember all the details I can tell you all that is was good. The staff was amazing as well with great attention to detail and amazing customer service.

One of my bucket list restaurants I was able to enjoy. Excellent service, awesome atmosphere, exceptional presentation. I had the skate as the main and it was so good! Langoustine was incredible, what decadence. Too bad Eric is so far away, but probably better for my wallet. Worth every penny.

I've been taking every opportunity I can to use the lunch prix fixe menus as an affordable way to sample the food at New York's best restaurants and so I was very excited when I found out about the City Harvest lunch at Le Bernardin. For $60 ( + tax and tip) I was treated to a stunning lunch, where the food didn't just taste amazing, but also opened my mind to flavors, ingredients, and techniques that I wasn't accustomed to.
The waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu and helpful in navigating it as many of the ingredients were unfamiliar to me. The appetizer course of Maine lobster in a saffron soup was served in a teacup and was very flavorful. The subtle flavor of the small cubes of lobster and mussels contrasted well with the intensely aromatic saffron soup. My entree was the first time I ate skate, and the texture was very interesting to me, especially the way the wing easily pulled apart along the visible segments. The sweet and sour sauce it was served in added some punchiness to the otherwise mild skate. A waiter walked around with a selection of breads which I attacked multiple times during my meal - I particularly enjoyed the focaccia with olives.
The dessert was a spectacle in itself. A run soaked piece of brioche bread coated in white chocolate served with vanilla bean ice cream, liquid honey, honeycomb, and dehydrated honey. The latter was intriguing to me and for a brief moment I was hesitant about digging in. I'm glad I did as together all those ingredients complement each other as well as they sound like they do, and my only complain was that I ran out of ice cream before I finished the rum-bread.
The City Harvest menu changes every week and I'm definitely going to be back if I ever get some time for lunch in New York. Don't worry if you don't have a reservation for it; like many high-end restaurants at lunch time on a weekday, tables don't seem too hard to come by. -

An incredible culinary experience! It is super hard to get a reservation so I settled for a reservation in the middle of the day on a weekday - the tasting menu was good. We got the skate fish and the salmon. Overall everything was very new and delicately prepared. The dessert menu was amazing and something you watch on TV. Service was impeccable.

We were there for their 3-course prix fixe lunch and it costed $90 per person. I was greeted by a cold wait staff upon arrival.
We were looking forward to try their monkfish but was told they ran out of it that day. Disappointed. We ended up ordering crab cake, scallop, skate, merluza. I don't think the food lives up to Michelin three star's standard. They were fine but not exceptional. The best dish was probably the complimentary salmon they offered at the very beginning. We had apple and coconut for dessert. It is fair to say that their dessert is a piece of art. I took quite a few minutes to admire the apple.
I also ordered a glass of white wine to pair with my merluza. During the meal, I noticed there is a little fly swimming in my wine. I notified my server and they gave me another glass of wine. They didn't take this off my bill nor offer any complimentary treats to compensate such inconvenience.
Their lunch menu is much more affordable than their tasting menu. It is a bargain if you want to treat yourself on a special day. It might be worth a visit but I will not be returning. -

I have not been to bernardin for a while. I used to visit Bernardin very often. But this time was the worst experience ever. The famous fish tartar with carvier is not good at all. No taste beside carvier, wired dashi elements. The old version was sooooo much better.
The fish skate wing is so salty, felt like i was eating salt. And the explanation from the waiter was they used some ingredient from china which cause the saltness. wtf?! That's a good excuse for a bad dish.
The service used to be so good here, but now it's just below average . I won't go back in the near future for sure. A 3 star ? I bet the restaurant did a lot of networking for that. -

I came here for lunch alone on a weekday afternoon, and man, Le Bernadin really has got the power lunch thing down. I got the three course set for $90; and I think I was in and out in just over an hour. I felt the pace was a little bit too fast, personally, as I was just there to enjoy my meal, but I suppose that's not what they're used to.
Service here was excellent and every bit befitting of their three Michelin star status. I was greeted by what felt like dozens of servers. There was a complimentary salmon rillette appetizer that was served with thinly sliced toasts - very tasty. I asked for a wine recommendation and got an excellent choice from the sommelier.
The bread basket is wonderful - you have just about 6-7 choices of bread rolls, including pumpernickel, sun dried tomato, quinoa, focaccia, and more. They aren't stingy with the bread either, and came around a second time offering me seconds. The little crock of butter that came with the bread was perfectly room temperature and spreadable.
For my three course menu, I got the fluke, skate, and Mont Blanc.
All three choices were top notch. The fluke was spring rolled around some vegetables and enoki mushrooms in a sake broth, which they poured table side. The skate was perfectly tender and I enjoyed the little mushrooms served with it. Then the Mont Blanc dessert had a bit of ice cream and rum sauce, and it was just the right size to finish off the meal.
I can't wait to come back here for the full chef's tasting menu! -

Amazing, classic place. Loved the bar area. Looking at the lounge menu, there are very affordable options to have ranging from $14-$28. But my husband And I were there for dinner for my birthday. Le Bernardin exceeded in every way. Champagne was chilled perfect. Staff was wonderful, not pretentious at all. They had Nantucket scallops on the menu, definitely had to get those and they were perfection. We loved everything, from the amuse tower to the lobster and to the skate, which was the best I've had to date. And the butter..... they replace it mid meal!!!! I just wish i can take the first one home! Can't wait to come back here and experience dinner once more. It's so worth it!!!

Best birthday surprise ever from the SO! As stated by the mister, reservation for lunch was required at least a month in advance. He tried to reserve dinner last year but it was too packed but glad he made it to the lunch reservation time!
Everything about Le Bernardin was just classy and intricate, from someone opening the door for you to getting your coat checked in WITH A METAL TAG (wow fancy), to getting seated. The ambiance was amazing and there were many staffs to serve you. I felt royalty as I entered. We ordered the prixe fix lunch menu which came with three courses. The food was delicious and intricately plated. The salmon with toasted crackers were a nice way to start off. Plate after another as we indulge into the delicious seafood. Between scallops and crab cake I would go with crab cake. Between the monk fish and skate I would go with skate. And here's the best part...DESSERT!!
We ordered apple, hazelnut, and a chocolate mousse cake on the house (for my birthday). The dessert was too pretty to be eaten and my favorite was the mousse cake!
Everything about this place was just mesmerizing, private, royal, and delicious. -

Had my lunch here at the lounge. It was a 3 course menu @ $55, $5 goes to City Harvest as a donation, it is great to know that you are dining and donating at the same time with such incredible food!
I was blown away, how amazing the food was!! I wanna dine here everyday, for every meal for the rest of my life of course only if I win the lottery!
With my little budget I get to experience the first class 3 Michelin star food, it was so freaking cheap but I am not complaining!!
Service was impeccable, the ambiance was super classy but not stuffy, and the food was just extraordinary! Yes, I said extraordinary, if u don't believe, check out the images, just look at that skate!!
I do not need to write more, just try it for yourself and thank me later!! -

Once again not disappointed. Came for lunch with the wife. Tuna tartare, Hamachi tartare, the bread basket, the salmon, fig dessert, ice cream and sorbet all exceptional. The skate was just a tad salty, but the sauce was phenomenal. Did I mention the Negroni? Probably the best I've had. This place will always be the place for me.

Beautiful restaurant right in the heart of midtown. There are 2 set menus in a very affordable $200-$300 price range. We opted for the 4 course $175 menu, as you have the opportunity to chose the apps, entree's and desserts you want.
Off course with any fine dining, jacket required restaurant you start off with your amuse which included a pickled radish, cube of raw tuna, and crab. For our app the both of us chose raw oysters. For my secondi I had the langoustines and the wife had the crab cakes. For the main entrees I had the white tuna and wagyu and she had the skate. We ended with deconstructed black Forrest cake and a grill corn dessert.
The ask with All fine dining restaurants was on point. You usually have 4-5 people attending to you. Your main server, secondary, the water guy, the bread guy and your busser.
The food was all fresh and tasted delicious. My grilled white tuna was my stand out dish. Being from Hawaii, we hardly eat cooked tuna. But this was exceptionally tasty and perfectly cook. For
my wife she love skate any which way so that was her highlight. For $175 this was a great deal for a Michelin starred establishment. -

I was most blown away by the extensive bread selection - never seen so many options for a meal. The overall experience was worth the price and definitely would be in the market to make a return trip.
Did the prix-fixe lounge meal and were impressed every step of the way. From the professionalism by the staff, to the interior, to quality of the ingredients and the display of the food on the table. I had the Salmon while my wife had the Skate. -

Come for the city harvest meal in the lounge for $55 per person (where $5 is donated) and you will get the best deal from Le Bernardin. Make sure to arrive by 12:30 or you might not get a seat( we grabbed the last table). We got one of each of the six dish - two apps, two entrees and two desserts. The whole meal took about 2 hrs (amazing how time flies). Think they change the menu often so it's not the same as when we ate in December.
Apps - lobster bisque and fish tartare. We enjoyed both of them although I liked the tartare more and my friend the bisque. Both were very light and delightful.
Entrees - salmon and skate in citrusy sauce. Don't let the waiter pour too much as it might be too sour. We both like the salmon better, which was seared on one side and more rare than you see in other restaurants. We didn't like the skate fish as much. The fish had a weird texture and it was too sour.
Desert - sorbets and tres leches? The sorbets were average but the second desert was amazing. It had some sorbet for the tartness and a ball of ice cream sweet good. My god!
Lastly can't forget the bread! Go for the rosemary and cranberry. Amazing. -

**this review is toward their lunch@lounge room**
One word, four letters: L.O.V.E!
Ok- I know it's lame. But this probably best describes how I feel about my lunch experience with Le Bernardin.
It was sort of a last minute thought about going to Le Bernardin for lunch. Luckily, no reservation is required to dine in the lounge room. My friend and I got there around 12pm and we took the last table in the lounge room!
Everything is so fresh, nicely seasoned, cooked and plated! My personal favorite during the whole lunch was the skate. It was my friend's entree but I made him split half with me. But the desserts to me though probably are not the strongest suit of Le Bernardin.
I'm very satisfied with my meal. It was only $49 which includes 3 courses. I think it is a great value in comparison to other Michelin star restaurants such as Marea - 2 courses for $47!
I highly recommend their lunch options and definitely will come back for dinner! -

I had lunch here last week and it was exactly what I expected. Good service staff (waiter compliments your drink order) expectedly and not overwhelmingly moved the lunch along at a gentile pace.
Had the poached skate with kimchi reduction sauce which was the best skate I've had ever. Oysters were good too as was the strawberry dessert-- I would recommend it over the tres leches though the pastry chefs definitely know what they're doing. The only thing I didn't LOVE was the petit fours-- but I think I can forgive them!
