SuzAnne’s 5-star review:
9/18/2011-
Living In Temecula has its upsides, and having a buffet in a casino is for sure one of them.
SO parking was so easy and FREE, like that.
First thing I noticed was when I walked into the casino the cigarette smell, now for some it might bother ( I am not of that persnickety persuasion on that stuff) I personally don't care, sucking down diesel fumes from a bus I am stuck behind while sitting in my car- during rush hour traffic I think kills more grey cells then casino smoke. But I digress, I was however, instantly memory laned back to VEGAS BABY and the casinos of blue haze smoke, sexy drink girls and the ringa-linga-chach-ing of the machines paying off.. how exciting.
Okay no sexy drink girls but the rest was there. Reality!
Buffet $21.00 plus drink per person, they charged full price for my 11 yr old. hmm. but ya know she can do some damage so in hind-site not a bad deal according to my husband when I said wow that's a lot for her!
It's very clean, servers are polite and attentive, dishes are removed quickly and refills on tea was speedy. The bathroom is located outside in the casino but then so are the bathrooms in Vegas hotels for the restaurants so, no big deal the walk can help you burn calories.
FOOD:
Crab legs, oysters and mussels, all very very good, so daughter and I proceeded to eat well over our entrance ticket on these 3 items, along with the tuna poke, Chinese broccoli, mini dim sum and pork buns... I suggest having your crab legs reheated in the crab boil as its easier to remove the meat. The oysters were delish and I love oysters raw, they were for us-- not as awesome as when your hanging with the fish mongers in NY or Redondo Beach etc-- ya know - right on the water- but not bad for a buffet -fast turn over on all foods! nothing looked dry or old, small portions were cooked and served quickly.
Peel and eat shrimp- big, yummy- 'nuff said!
Hubby had BBQ, the Fast 5 Chinese dishes,( see previous posts ) and he enjoyed his choices very much. The salads and fresh fruit bar we so refreshing and the prime rib was YUM!
I have to say they have this corn on the cob I had to sample, it was like salty sweetie goodness on a stick, with snappy kernels of corn-reminded me that I didn't have floss in my hand bag and that was okay, this was good corn on the cob nom nom.
Desserts- here is my take, I love the sweets, but the bananas foster was soo good hands down you have to try it, on ice cream or by itself, really my daughter had 3 servings and was then promptly as she called it, "in a food coma".
She is "wafer thin" I have no idea where she puts it all.
I enjoyed the creme brulee and the dark chocolate dessert cup, the mini cheesecake bon-bons and flan were very good, there was a pistachio with raspberry reduction as well, pretty tasty.. the typical cakes, brownies, etc.. were all very tempting but I need to save for my next trip. Hubby had the mini cakes on a stick he said they were pretty good but he enjoyed the fresh fruit more along with the dark chocolate cups.
So all in all- it was a Sunday night at 5:30p, no one was really there yet but when we left at 7:45p, there was a long and winding line at the register and the place was filling up fast. Some people can get pushy especially at the seafood station which I found totally RUDE, but I guess if your starving and have not eaten in days then its okay to be rude.
This is a buffet at Pechanga (think Monty Python) is a really great buffet that you could seriously do some damage to your self and when they offer the mint and tell you its Wafer thin--- don't do it!
(Kids here are behaved) that in itself is a reason to (and you know how I feel about spawn that cannot behave in public)
