We all find ourselves with too little time.
Not enough time to do laundry.
Not enough time to call others.
Not enough time to mail out bills.
Not enough time to read that book we keep on picking up. And then putting back down.
Not enough time to do yoga.
Time is so often so fleeting in our lives that we find ourselves prioritizing things in our head, in an attempt to just stay afloat with the bombardment of life tasks, moving in on us.
If you find yourself struggling for air one weekend morning, and find yourself exasperated about the shortage of time in your life - take a deep breath. Open your window. And then head on over to Three Bee's Nursery.
Three Bee's Nursery has a profound way of making you forget that you have a time schedule. It forces you to slow down. To admire and bask in the wonder of nature and it's serene beauty.
Perusing through carefully potted flowers, lush ferns, and neon lined succulents, I felt the weight of my daily stresses loosen and lighten. Marveling at creatively potted succulents gracefully emerging from old TV screens, and ivy wrapped around old bike tires, I leisurely moved throughout Three Bee's Nursery, studying their array of visually nourishing greenery. They have a slew of different sized plants, carry a wealth of potting and plant caring supplies, stock a variety of different clay pots, and even offer free delivery for purchases over 100 dollars.
Nestled amongst the quiet stores of Richmond, Three Bee's buzzes with leafy wisdom and healthy vibes.

Great little nursery with friendly and helpful staff. It is small and the 2 times I have been there it wasn't crowded.
Because it is small, the selection is limited (thus only 4 stars), but they make up for that with:
- quality of product
- knowledgeable staff
- interesting and unique ideas
and they deliver.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - 76312305762Dec 20, 2012
Delancey moved or closed their Christmas tree lot in the Inner Richmond so I Yelped to find a place to buy my tree.
I was very directional in my need for a Christmas tree therefore, I didn't take a good look around the entire nursery.
I will say that my tree is very fresh (very few needles dropping) and at $40 for a 6' tree, it was extremely well-priced.
This business seems to be family run and it's very friendly and service-oriented. I will definitely return for a potted plant - and next year's Christmas tree.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Starla D.San Francisco, CA6123479Nov 29, 2007
I ventured here yesterday because I had to re-pot my ficus tree. It was assaulted and violated. My kitten Gus decided that he should not only climb it, but attack each branch and eat all the leaves and send it crashing to the carpet leaving its broken roots exposed from the dirt. It was sad, and almost...indecent. He probably peed on it for good measure, not that I would ever notice because my apartment always smells like pee.
So I came in looking for a pot and soil and explained my situation to the dude there who was very helpful and showed me a variety of beautiful painted ceramic pots. I selected a lovely (cheaper) plastic pot and a bag of extra rich dirt with electrolytes, amino acids and 26% of the daily recommended allowance of dietary fiber!
This place has a lot of lovely houseplants and cacti! I was thinking of planting a cactus garden all around my ficus tree for added protection. Kind of like a cacti moat. Cats don't like those.
Also, they have very inexpensive Poinsettias, perfect for the holidays!! They are poisonous to cats I heard. I bought out most of their stock, so if you want one I suggest you go soon before they are sold out.Helpful 24Thanks 0Love this 37Oh no 0 - Amanda B.Denver, CO1653242Dec 9, 2010
I like any business that has cats. Well, so long as they stay out of the kitchen. Three Bees, being a nursery, has no kitchen that I'm aware of, so that's not problem.
What they do have are plants. Lots of them, all green and alive and happily waiting for someone to give them a forever home, in a random collection of connected rooms and outdoor spaces. While the layout was somewhat confusing for me, I imagine its designed to keep the fairies from escaping, which I understand is pretty important in the flora business.
I picked out several little pots of herbs which, due to the lack of fairy presence in my house and my general inability to remember to water things, are sadly destined to die a slow death in the greenhouse window. We also purchased some sort of large leafy thing for the BF to care for. Given his family history of farming we're hoping he has better success at not killing things. If not, we may have to resort to artificial greenery. All these plant deaths are starting to weigh heavily on my heart.
Summary: Three Bee's has a cat, ample fairy presence and many plants for adoption.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Danielle K.Santa Cruz, CA32625554Jan 28, 2009
With this place being a 1/2 a block from my house I can't help but come here.
The first time I came here was with my room mate. We had just recently moved to the neighborhood and we discovered that our house at fruit fly's or nat's whatever you call them. Yes gross I know right, so how the hell do you get rid of them? We tried a few different sprays. With me trying to be as natural and organic as possible really didn't like this idea. So we went to this place to find a solution.
We found fly paper. Pretty cheap. Guy was really nice and helpful.
We were pretty excited to to try out our fly paper thinking we had solved the problem. Ha ha not even close. We put up the fly paper and maybe 1 or 2 of them got stuck on the paper but there was a lot of them .So we decided we would just "catch" them with the fly paper. Well just picture 2 girls with sticky fly paper jumping around a small bathroom trying to kill these little f-ing fly's. Pretty funny. We used like 10 things of fly paper but we killed most of them. One of the times my room mate hit my hand with her fly paper and I totally freaked. Good thing there were no fly's on it at the time but it was still gross.
Anyways, this place temporarily killed our fruit fly's. But they came back and we ended up buying some spray that actually killed them and kept them away. I'm a bad hippy I know. :(Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Kalah A.Hopkinton, MA2246Apr 17, 2011
Three Bee's Nursery is a cute neighborhood nursery. The two times I have been there they've been staffed with more than enough people. All staff is happy and helpful. I've had a couple situations when the person I was asking questions to didn't 100% know the answer - they quickly asked another staff for the answer rather than giving a possibly wrong answer. I appreciated that.
Prices aren't the best, but it's a nursery in a city so what can you expect? I'd def go back again for the convince, friendly staff and well taken care of plants.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Ms M.Portland, OR20162Sep 18, 2009
This nursery is small, but it makes up for it in what they have, and if they don't have it, they will do their darnest to get it for you. That's how quaint it is - makes me say "darn".
I live closer to a Sloat location,( which has its plus's but more minus's for me), but I can always count on the plants themselves, the service & the knowledge at Three Bees. I really can't say anything bad about this Nursery.
Check out their succulent room - makes me want to move back to Arizona. But then I wouldn't have Three Bees !Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Cinnamon Z.San Francisco, CA394781Jun 16, 2011
Now that I've found The Three Bees I'll never need to set foot in Sloat again. These guys also deliver, in fact their delivery fee/minimum order is better than Sloat's.
Their space is smaller than Sloat's but that ok, they work within the small space to provide a lot to choose from.
I've had the best luck with the guys who work there - NOT the LOUD elderly women.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Ali M.Boulder, CO3929328Jun 29, 2007
Super Cute, but WAY more expensive than you can get things elsewhere...but hey, they're neighbors, right?
The woman who works here is really nice and helpful. She gets 4 stars. I didn't have a very good experience with the guy. I asked him to show me a certain plant and he blew me off and helped a dude that came in after me, who clearly was looking to spend some more $$$$.
But geez, I just wanted him to point out a certain lily.
Whatever.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0
