I recently had the pleasure of staying at this spectacular hotel, and it exceeded my expectations in every way. From the moment I stepped into the spacious room, I was captivated by the stunning view overlooking the pool, Jacuzzi, and Marina. I believe I booked a marina room, which led to such a beautiful view.

Despite a minor issue with a clogged toilet, the swift and efficient resolution by the attentive hotel staff showcased their commitment to guest satisfaction. Their responsiveness added to the overall positive experience.

The common areas are a true highlight, featuring a heated pool and Jacuzzi, complemented by direct access to the scenic Marina del Rey bike path. For someone like me, coming from Hawaii, the convenient five-minute walk to Trader Joe's and REI was an unexpected but delightful bonus.

The bar and dining areas, adorned with inviting fire pits, provided a cozy and stylish ambiance. Planning a romantic getaway with my wife during an extended LAX layover is already in the works, a testament to the lasting impression this hotel has left on us.

Overall, this establishment stands out not just as a place to stay, but as an experience to savor. I wholeheartedly recommend it for anyone seeking a blend of luxury, convenience, and exceptional service.

The hotel location is great, but our overall experience was very disappointing. We had booked 2 rooms, and below is a recap of our experiences for one of the rooms:

      * We were surprised when arriving that there weren't other parking options other than valet. When booking, we noted the $45 valet fee on the website FAQ, but it would have been helpful to include that valet is the ONLY parking option.
      * Housecleaning is standard in most hotels, and since that's not the case at this hotel, we should have been told that upon arrival. But no one alerted us to this. The fact that our rooms have door tags requesting privacy reinforces the norm that there is daily housecleaning. When our rooms weren't cleaned after the first day, we asked reception why, and only then were we told that we have to request housecleaning. We requested it for the following day, and again no one came, so we were left a 2nd day without housecleaning. Super frustrating.
      * The television had a continual flicker, making it difficult to watch whatever was on the screen.
      * None of the dresser drawers opened or closed smoothly, and one drawer had fallen off its rail, making it difficult to open or close at all. Also, the cabinet door to the refrigerator was either broken or misaligned, making it hard to close. When we called reception about the drawer, they did send someone right away to fix it. But the furnishings really need to be updated or at least checked regularly to make sure things work properly.
      * The morning of checking out, at 10:15am we requested a bell hop for 10:45. No one came at that time, and we were not alerted by reception that anyone was running late. We had to call again and waited almost 15 minutes for the bell hop to arrive.

Our recent stay at the Marina Del Ray Hotel left me deeply disappointed. After being loyal guests for over a decade, our family was met with rudeness and a complete lack of hospitality.

During our stay, we were relaxing by the pool, not swimming, just enjoying a moment with our adult children, when we were approached by the hotel staff. To our shock, they informed us that our own family members were not allowed to be poolside with us unless they paid a ridiculous $150 resort fee per day for the three of them. This new policy is not only absurd but also a stark departure from the welcoming atmosphere we've come to expect over the years.

What stings even more is the way they went about telling us. The staff came out twice within a ten minute window to scold us coldly, making us feel as if we were not welcome, and this was coming from a place we once considered a home away from home.

It's truly unfortunate to witness such a shift in hospitality and customer service at a place we held dear for so long. We will undoubtedly be searching for a friendlier and more accommodating resort for our future stays.

The rooms are basic as is everything else. They seem to be going for an exclusive vibe and we feel they have gone in the wrong direction. The luxury element they are going for is failing when they treat guests like culprits.

The Marina Del Ray Hotel's attitude and approach have left us with no choice but to take our business elsewhere. It's a shame to see the downfall of what was once a cherished establishment.

My family of three had a great weekend at the Marina Del Rey Hotel. Everyone on staff was friendly, welcoming and professional. From the valet staff, to front desk, to SALT staff to housekeeping, we felt like everyone went above and beyond to provide great service. We enjoyed our time at the pool, the beautiful views of the Marina and really appreciated the updated modern decor throughout the hotel. The lobby even smelled amazing. We had a wonderful dinner outdoors near a cozy fire at SALT. The location of the hotel is super convenient. Close to LAX, Venice beach was a short drive away and even cental LA was reasonably close by LA standards. Would 100% recommend or stay again.

This place was cool and we loved our room being right by the water. My husband debated renting a scooter to visit the nearby beach but honestly it just didn't work out. It would've been cool though! We were only here a few days but the service was great and the room was nice.

Beautiful location surrounded by the classic marina. Friendly helpful staff easy checkin, rooms clean with small refrigerator & Keurig coffee very comfortable beds, spacious bathroom with nice walk-in shower. The Marina is bigger than I remember lots of good safe walking and biking. A few new restaurants are open along the new renovated asphalt & concrete paths it's only going to get better

Really classy hotel located directly on the Marina. All of the staff that I interacted with from the front desk to housekeeping, and maintenance were all very courteous and friendly.

The interior of the hotel is pretty open and spacious. The room was updated and had all the basic amenities but nothing in terms of light cooking just FYI. They had good toiletries made by a local company named Lather. I was really happy that they were all paraben and sulfate free. I think the room could have been a bit cleaner as I did notice some crumbs under the bed when retrieving some dropped items.

The hotel has a few features like a pool and a hot tub. The hot tub is open from 8:30am - 10:00pm. It looks out onto the marina which is very scenic. You can actually hear the seals barking from the marina while you're out there.

The hotel also has a restaurant which is also very good! If you do venture out a little farther, there is a nearby plaza that has some food options there too.

Yuck! This hotel is awful. It looks great from the outside, but is not well maintained on the inside. Booked my dad here for a week during this holiday season.

In the hallway, on the way the room, there were about ten room service trays outside various rooms of meals that had been partially eaten and the kitchen hadn't come to pick them up yet. It was disgusting. Even one of the hotel employees knew it was awful and was on the phone with the kitchen trying to get the trays picked up.

Also, when we checked in, we were told that the room will not be cleaned everyday, in fact it won't be cleaned at all unless cleaning is requested 24 hours in advance.

Finally, when we entered the room it was disorderly. The lamps were crooked, the garbage can was in the middle of the entry hallway. It was sloppy.

The handles and glass in the shower had soap scum.

He returned to the front desk to see about a different room and was told that they "would all be the same." He wasn't comfortable staying there, and the hotel said that they were going to charge him for the first night whether or not he stayed. Poor management is infuriating. Dirty bathrooms are infuriating. Lost money is infuriating. Grrrrr

My partner and I came here for a work trip, and it happened to be the ONLY rainy days the whole week! Huge bummer. The lobby is pretty, and the front desk staff is fabulous. The valet staff is, too. It's interesting that this hotel has different tiers of early check-in fees. I've never seen that before.

I don't love staying on the first floor (with cars right outside our window) but it was a cute room, and you could see the fog-filled marina. I wish the weather was nicer to enjoy the pool and hot tub areas. Main downside is that not much is located within walking distance.

It's notoriously the best hotel in Marina del Rey, so I'm grateful for the opportunity to stay andn relax for a few days! Next time I'll have to check out their in-house restaurant, SALT.

      Pro:
**Nice/open guest area - they did a great job with decorating and adding relaxing seats in the "public" areas. It looks like it'd be nice to just chill in those areas with friends.
**Location - by the marina; third floor gives you great view of the marina and/or swimming pool. It's also walkable distance to many nearby restaurants
      **WiFi - free
      **Patio space
      **Sanitizing wipes by the elevator
**Check out is at noon so you get to sleep in

      The "Meh":
**Room - very small; not a lot of space to lay out the suitcases (we only had carryon sized)
**Comfort - lint on the bed sheet made it itchy
**Restroom - feels cramped to me; door directly in front of toilet, half of the sink space is blocked by toilet; have to close door completely to get into the shower; I'd recommend bringing your own shampoo/conditioner - theirs was horrible
**Parking - $$, but they got nice valet an Tesla superchargers there
      **TV - keeps glitching
**Fitness Center - very stuffy; limited equipment, and they didn't replenish the sanitizing wipes for 2 days (even after I informed them that it was out)
**No microwave, but you can rent it for $10/night

Overall, I would say that $300 is overpriced for what the room offers compared to other hotels in the area. BUT! If you don't plan on staying inside the hotel room much or if you're able to get a special deal/discount, I'd say go for it
