About the Business
Bringing meaning back to the phrase "neighborhood bar," The Garage on Motor Ave has become a second home for Angelenos. Whether you're a regular or a first-timer, you'll be treated like part of our community. Our bartender can often be seen shooting the breeze with the locals, and makes a point to learn each of their names and favorite drinks. It's this laid back vibe that keeps our regulars coming back week after week. With an extensive selection of craft beers on tap, as well as a crave-worthy food selection, we've got you covered. So relax on our patio or watch your favorite team every Sunday on one of our 28 HD TVs. We'll save you a seat.

Q:
How crowded does it get on a big game day?
A:
It can get pretty crowded for a big sporting event, all two rooms and outdoor areas can get pretty packed

Is the Garage open as of Jan 22, 2021? Tried last week in late-ish evening hours (~9pm), but no answer on the phone, online ordering unavailable, and the lights were off in the restaurant. Crossing our fingers it's still in business!
A:
We are still in business :) waiting for the stay at home order to be lifted so we can resume serving outside. Hope to see you soon.

I live near by and The Garage is my go to spot for any night. They show PPV UFCs fights, and they're big fans of SF 49ers, they might show every sports you follow ;)
They also have trivia nights, comedy shows, karaoke. The food is great, my go-to is the chicken nachos, so far every dish that I have tried has not disappointed.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Elizabeth R.Los Angeles, CA9913427Mar 28, 2024
Don't come here hungry!! This place has the slowest and inconsistent service I've seen in a while. Unclear on why they had 1 server & 1 bartender for the whole restaurant on trivia night. We ended up ordering at the bar because despite sitting in the center of the restaurant we were invisible to our server. Once we finally got our food- it was pretty good. Though, this could have been because we were starving by the time we ended up receiving it.
Trivia was ok but seemed like it was for an older crowd (80s movies and music questions).. nothing wrong with that but just wanted to give an FYI for y'all.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 804253217Jul 22, 2023
Very cool place walking distance from our friends place :)
Menu is standard bar food but we didn't eat. Freshly squeezed IPA was very good!
Friendly and laid back vibes with ample indoor and outdoor seating. Would come back again!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Seth R.Central LA, Los Angeles, CA8131Apr 24, 2024
My friends and I came in to watch football at about 2:00 pm on Saturday. We were there for several hours enjoying our football games. When the bouncers kicked us out because we did not pay to watch the boxing match that was going to start in a couple of hours. We had spent a lot of time in money in a place just to get disrespected. Horrible service. You should be ashamed.

Large patio that is great for groups and your dogs! This was my first time there and i'm not dinging any stars for it, but the service was slow on the patio (likely short staffed). But the service itself was really good :)
Highlight for me on their happy hour menu: P I Z Z AHelpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jun 23, 2023
My friend and I went to trivia for the first time on a Wednesday. The food and drinks were all reasonably priced for LA and they do have some deals on certain items for trivia night. The food wasn't anything spectacular, but I liked the guava cider and the service was very friendly. You can participate in trivia anywhere in the back section, as they have speakers. It's pretty loud and crowded inside, so next time I'd sit outside. You can also call ahead and reserve a table, which is what a lot of people did. Trivia had several rounds and took a little over 2 hours and we left around 10:45pm.

The Garage is a decent bar to go to for their happy hour and watch the game. They have plenty of TVs (most in decent condition) and various beers on tap. We came on a Friday late afternoon and there was a decent crowd watching the playoffs. Service was good despite the short staff.
Margarita was pretty average but good for the price, though would recommend sticking with beers. The tacos were a bit dry so wouldn't come here for the food per see.
But overall, good chill sports bar to grab some beers.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 575445592Oct 28, 2022
Solid sports bar in Culver. I haven't been able to try the food, but my non Celiac friends assure me it's pretty good bar food. So, no complaints from them. The bar is split into three areas--the patio, the Garage, and the Motor club. All three have very different feels. Our service has always been super friendly and drinks are always strong. This is an EAGLES (hi, Laura, thanks for always being awesome) and (cough cough...on the other, much weaker side Patriots) bar. I may have married a Giants fan....but two of our closest friends are also Eagles fans.
Anyways....great for happy hour, as well! Overall chill sports bar, with an east coast vibe.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 2 - Feb 13, 2023
I feel like a visit here goes hand and hand with being right across the street for a show. You're either coming here to pregame or going post show to wait out the traffic.
We did the unthinkable by dropping in twice this past Friday night. We had a half hour to eat before the Jeselnik show. Our table if 4 shared the chicken nachos, tater tots and the pretzel. When I tell you we cleaned up everything like a bunch of savages. That's why I have no photos. We ate everything so quickly we managed to still have a couple minutes to spare before we had to cross over. The pretzel was my favorite out of the 3. The nachos tasted like something was missing. We showered it with ALL the hot sauce and it got better. The white sauce on the tots tasted kinda sweet which isn't usually a problem but it didn't mix well with the tots.
We came back after the show and shared a pitcher of the mango beer. The fact that they had that on top - amazing.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 2 - Apr 19, 2023
It was a fun date. The food were good and we love the pork sliders. The server that serves us was nice but the other one was a little rude and not friendly. Maybe he think he don't serve us and he couldn't get tips or whatever it was. Anyway, is a cool place to hangout. We had Guinness stout and also Irish bomb! It was good. We both enjoy it and we played ping pong after. The bad thing with the ping pong was not convenient because the ball roll under people chairs or tables and we have to disturb others to pick up the ball. Maybe they should put a net or something ..
