I really like this place. I've been three times recently while on business in the Broomfield / Interlocken area. Sushi is very good. Not world class but really very good for these quite reasonable prices. The basic rolls are solid and they have a nice assortment of special rolls. Can't go wrong with a Denver roll or a Rainbow roll here. I have also tried their teriyaki and tempura combos. Good food, good value. They have various specials; at one point they took off 20 percent because I was dining on a Monday. Staff is friendly and polite. I will return when back in the area.

New owner has turned this place around immensely. The fish selects are astounding, ESPECIALLY THE SEARED TUNA SASHIMI!!! Do yourself a favor and try it.
His menu is incredibly priced for the quality of fish you get from here (we are in Colorado, 900 miles from any ocean, so getting fish this fresh and good quality costs money). The presentation is great, owner/head chef classically trained and it shows in his flavors and plating. Make sure if there is space open at the sushi bar to sit and watch him construct the rolls. As well the Musago Tataki is divine. Make sure you try it, If you don't do well with heat, ask for no jalapeño ;-)
I want to address the last 2 reviews before mine quickly. If you aren't happy with your meal, tell your wait staff of the chef... this isn't an episode of Kitchen Nightmares, the chef will do what he can to make your meal enjoyable. FACT: The takoyaki is on the menu because my wife asked him to make it. I can understand a 2 Star review if you asked for a new plate of food and the owner refused. But if yo don't ask, your bad review is just passive aggressive.
Back to the review: this area is problematic for small business. Even large business, like the closed Best Buy and closing Pier One imports. It's expensive. Prices reflect this at all the 2 or 3 star restaurants here in the area.
Anyway, the menu has a wide assortment of options, even Tonkatsu and Soyo Ramen, which both taste great (I'm not a ramen fan however, they taste great none the less) and Katsu Curry dishes. Signature rolls are quite impressive and large. Typically we get 4 rolls at most other places, here we only get 2 and are completely filled after! The happy hour is great, buy one get one beers or Large Hot Sake!! (5-7 dollars depending, can't beat that price).
Again, do yourself a favor and come try it out for dinner (rolls get miso and salad at dinner), and be impressed!!!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - I I.Lake Forest, CA0188Nov 14, 2017
Ok food. Nothing special. Premium sashimi was just standard tuna, salmon, snapper, yellowtail. Spider roll was oily. Heat up you oil before you fry your soft shell crab, please. While you are at it, keep your rice hot and moist (it was cold and dry). If you cannot cook your rice properly, you will not succeed as a sushi restaurant. (Korean operated Japanese restaurant)
Plus: it is very close to my hotel. Empty and quiet restaurant.
Conclusion: HMart or Mitzuwa sashimi for twice the price. Maybe I am just too picky. Nahhhhhh!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Emily J.Broomfield, CO67217Dec 21, 2016
I have had my share of sushi (been to Nobu, west coast, etc.). This is hands down top of the charts sushi.
We take our time and read reviews of places before we eat at them, and we saw negative reviews about this place... not sure why?
We started with the miso soup. ABSOLUTE PERFECTION!! We also opted for the all you can eat buffet. It's a little pricy, but totally worth it.
We started with some basic sushi (salmon/tuna on rice) and then got some of the specialty rolls! The specialty rolls are super filling, pace yourself. My favorite was the mango roll, super refreshing with a lot of flavor!
In all we had a couple specialty rolls, some basic sushi rolls and sushi. DELICIOUS!! So filling though, but you definitely get your monies worth.
The service was impeccable. They were very on top of filling drinks, answering questions, and just overall attentive to their customers!
It was a wonderful place and we will most definitely be coming back!! Definitely an awesome place to get sushi.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Charles T.Broomfield, CO352217May 1, 2017
Good lunch place. Ordered two rolls combo and I think it is not worth the $11. Rice is hard and dry, but if the price is $8, I will be happy at it's quality.
Clean and good place to eat with friends here.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Feb 22, 2010Updated review
Ok, I gave them a second chance. Much better this go around.
Again, the service was courteous, and the food very good. I think the trick is not to come during the height of the lunch time rush...Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Feb 29, 2008Previous reviewInstant minus one star for forgetting the soup. Service was slow and clumsy, but in their defense, it was the height of the lunch hour.
They were, however, very courteous, and the food was pretty good. Three stars - about what you expect. Not phenomenal, not bad. - Gloria M.Montclair, CA151192256Nov 14, 2015
I came here after reading all the positive reviews and was very disappointed. The sushi prices are average but the entree prices are overpriced. The sushi was mediocre. The teriyaki was horrible and bland. My friend had the chicken Katsu and he stated it was great! The shrimp tempura was fresh and delicious!
Service was good but it took almost 1 hr and half to get our food they ran out of rice.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Lani P.Las Vegas, NV4523266786Mar 17, 2017
Yeah won't be coming back and save yr money and don't get all you can eat because it's the cheap basic rolls Now and took off the Specialty ones, that you have to order ala carte. Use to like this place NOT anymore!

Downgrading review to one star. These guys saw us pulled through the parking and hurried up to lock the door and turn off the open sign. This is 45mins before they are supposed to close. We knocked regardless and was told that they are understaffed and they are just going to close early. I hope they do close permanently.
I'd give the old Taigun 5 stars. The new eat all you can is lower quality... Not going back. Time to find a new sushi comfort place.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Aug 5, 2016Previous reviewI'd give the old Taigun 5 stars. The new eat all you can is lower quality... Not going back. Honestly shocked that this place has 4 stars. It used to be great sushi a couple years ago but recently the quality of everything has substantially decreased.
Staff is awesome and super friendly but the fish is awful. The tuna roll isn't a piece of solid tuna, but a mushy mix of tuna that doesn't taste fresh at all. The rice is hard and flavorless and the seaweed is slimy.
Hoping something turns around for this place soon.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - J. A. P.Erie, CO01Oct 8, 2016
This used to be my regular go-to sushi place for over 7 years. To my dismay the former, tried and true, sushi bar is now under new management.
The new management has taken a one-of-a-kind amazing menu and completely dumped it. The new menu has unappealing sushi rolls as well as the usual rolls common to all U.S. sushi bars, but they substantially raised the prices, even doubled them in some cases.
When will owners learn that "if it's not broken, Don't fix it".
I will now be taking my long standing, loyal, patronage to a sushi establishment that respects its customers enough to keep them satisfied and not try to gouge them by inflating the prices and changing a very successful menu.
I'm sure the new management does not care at all for the previous loyal and dedicated customers as they prefer to prey on new unsuspecting patrons who do not know any better about what they missed.
WARNING : Take your business elsewhere or suffer the consequences of poor service and substandard quality at ridiculous new prices. PLEASE NOTE: The majority of positive reviews are for Taigun under the pervious Management. Don't be fooled.
*** This place deserves only half a star for merely existing for unknowing customers, but that rating option is not available. ***Helpful 7Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0
