The Capital Grill sounded like a burger pub when I first heard the name.  It's not.  Well, it could be.  If you asked, I imagine they'd gladly (reluctantly) grind up one of their pieces of beef, for a price...  

The name is appropriate, not because they are close to the Capital, but because of the amount of capital that comes out of your wallet when you dine there.  Actually, prices are very comparable to similar high end steak houses, so not too bad, really.

If you love your steaks, this place is a sure thing.  Oh, live Maine lobster too.  Well, not when they serve it to you.  It's cooked at that point.

Only 1595 calories per serving?  How can you say no!?

I love that there is still one fast food place left that hasn't 'lightened up' their menu.  These cats genuinely don't seem to give a flying crap what we consumers shove down our yap-holes as long as it tastes delicious.  Kudos!

My friends dragged me out to this place.  They are big eaters.  By big eaters, I mean they consume a ton of food, so it's no wonder they LOVE all you can eat extravaganzas.

Katsu has an all you can eat, basically anything you want to order sushi deal for somewhere in neighborhood of $25 bucks.  For them, heaven.  For me I get to about $16 bucks worth an I'm too full to enjoy any more.

So as my friends were busy packing their gullets full of this-that-and the other thing, I ordered off the regular menu.  Went like this:

Me:  "I'd like to try the Sashimi Donburi Bowl"

Waitress (heavy Asian accent, older gal):  "No.  Not for you."

Me:  "Really, why?"

Waitress:  "White people don't order this.  It's Korean dish."

Me:  "Well, I think I'd like to try it."

Waitress:  "Ok.  Hope you like spicy"

25 minutes later a giant bowl thing came out.  It was AWESOME!  It was like a spicy rice/salad/sashimi/other stuff bowl of delight.  How have I never tried this before?

Went there again last night.  Had the same thing to make sure I wasn't liking it the first time just to prove the old gal wrong.  Awesome.  I'll be back for sure.

I am too old to write an objective review for this club, so instead I'll recount my experience:

The Reserve Inn has been a Hudson staple since before I was even a little kid, visiting my grandparents who lived right up the street.

Had a chance to swing by on a business trip last month.  Just fantastic!  I would highly recommend The Reserve Inn if you are in the Hudson area!

Kepner's has been around for ages.  In fact, it's where my Grandpa used to go grab a scotch with his pals back in the 40's.  While I'm sure he would hardly recognize the place if he were alive today, I imagine that other than the multitude of flat screen TVs, the layout hasn't changed all that much.

It's small, so I can see why it would get very crowded.  Still, I came in on a business trip and stopped by to visit the town where I had spent many a summer vacation as a kid, and mad a special effort to check out a place with a ton of history.  It was packed, as there was a Thursday NFL game on, but I managed to get beers with little difficulty.

Didn't try the food, but there seemed to be a bunch of folks enjoying standard American bar fare.

Try their breakfast burrito, and you will not go away hungry.  

They have a cool 'build your own' menu available, and nothing beats a breakfast made up of egg, cheese, multiple varieties of swine, etc, all wrapped up in a tortilla and smothered in green chili!

Meh.  Overpriced and overrated tourist trap.  

the Jacksonville location is conveniently located on the Atlantic where the soiled brown waters of the St. Johns rives pukes out a brown clown just to the north.

Still, it's on the beach, if that's your thing...

I really like Caveau.  It's size, atmosphere, menu and staff are all great.

I was introduced by a friend who knew of their Monday night Geeks Who Drink pub trivia, and we popped in for some friendly competition.

They had beer specials, and we took third.  All in all great place for a nibble and a glass of wine!

Hooters.  Wings, sandwiches, appetizers, beer...  and that other thing.  What am I forgetting?!  Oh yeah.  Boobies!

When I was at this location, they had my Broncos on a TV with volume.  Awesome.  Then one of the waitresses lost her cell phone, and the whole staff ganged up on a couple that they accused of stealing it.  Cops came and everything, but couldn't legally search the patron.  It was classic.  So catty!
