I just booked a lesson on October 3rd and we showed up for our appointment today, October 16, the place is completely empty and the phone number (808) 845-7751 is disconnected. No one is responding to our text messages. No signs are posted, nothing. No notice, no phone call, nothing to let us know they went out of business.

Gary deserves 10 stars!!

This review is long overdue. I was recommended by a friend to see Gary and my voice has improved tremendously since.

I first came to Sen Music Studios for talent training for the Miss Chinatown pageant. I've never seen a singing coach and Gary was very accommodating and helped me develop my style and brought confidence to my voice when singing. He is a musical wizard and has some of the best equipment I've seen. Long story short, I trained and developed my voice with Gary for approximately 3-4 months and received the title of Miss Hawaii Chinese Princess in 2014. In case you were wondering, I sang Frank Sinatra's "Fly Me to the Moon." I've also seen him for two other competitions afterwards.

Prior to seeing Gary, I had extreme stage fright and my vocal chords always froze up in front of an audience. If you are looking for a professional to help you improve your voice, I recommend you give him a call.

Davelynn is the best! Luckily, a random day bored at home I thought it would be a good idea to learn to play my uke and found her on yelp. She is so patient and is an amazing teacher that simplifies everything so I can understand! I am not musically inclined but love my class: They so relaxing and rewarding. I loved it so much I bought my Mom a couple classes so she could play her uke too!

SEN Music Studios is located just one block over from Honolulu Community College. They offer vocal, guitar, ukulele, & piano/keyboard lessons as well as Karaoke & Music Theory workshops.
The staff are all SUPER friendly and genuinely care about the progress of each individual student. 'Music Is Food For The Soul' is a motto they all believe, and I've come to believe it as well.
I've been to other vocal studios/teachers before and have never felt that I was getting the full attention from my instructor and progress was really slow.
The staff really try to accommodate any schedule you have whether it's once a month to 3 times a week.
Through good and bad, SEN has been with me and I continue my journey 12 years later. Singing is a hobby I love and I've found the perfect place express that.

My son has been taking up ukulele for about six months and already I'm seeing results, from reading musical notes to holding and playing the ukulele! And it's all thanks to his music teacher, Ms. Davelyn. I would highly recommend taking ukulele or any other musical instrument from her because she's kind, patient and overall, she has a way of helping her students understand music by honing in on their strengths as well as their weakness.

The overall atmosphere is very calm and relaxing. Gary, the owner, greets us when ever he's there. Not to mention, prices are within my budget.

I got a GroupOn deal for here and decided to take vocal training. My teacher, Michelle, is a very sweet and happy person that she makes lessons encouraging. I enjoyed every lesson and hope to continue!

Yelp 365 Challenge #210/365

When my daughter came to take the trial class, she never wanted to leave. She absolutely loves taking singing and ukulele lessons here and Ms Dee is very patient with her.

Sen Music Studios recently offered some vouchers and my friend/colleague bought me two as my wintermas gift! She's really into giving "experiences" or doing activities together, rather than gifting.

She bought both of us the one for 2 30-minute instrument lessons and one for the 30 minute voice lesson.

We decided to do a joint combined lesson with Davelynn on a Tuesday evening for ukulele lessons! My friend wants to learn it because her favorite singer also plays the ukulele. I voted for that because it was that or the piano (from the choices). I had tried ukulele in my elementary school band class and I did a semester of basic piano in college so either would have worked for me. Davelynn is so nice and friendly. Very welcoming from the beginning and she set us up quickly with our borrowed ukes and our little instruction sheets with notes.

We learned a very basic bit of Imagine, which was fun and doable. We also did part of another song, Say Something, but that one was slightly more challenging. She did say most people don't get that song on the first lesson. She ran us through the basic chords needed for Imagine and was very patient with us both. Yay! At one point, Gary, who founded Sen, also popped his head in to say hi.

After the lesson, my friend had worked out something with Davelynn and we did an hour in the karaoke room, which was fun and challenging! The songs there were harder to search for because the hard copies are all in alphabetical order via song. There's an app on the phone but I found it hard to load at times.

I highly recommend Sen to those who are wanting music or voice lessons. However, I recommend calling or texting to figure out appointments. Emailing never really got me anywhere when I tried. I finally gave up and made my friend make the arrangements.

I bought my husband, Jay, Ukulele lessons and myself voice lessons via Living Social, and am SOOOO happy that I did! My husband has continued his weekly uke lessons with Josh, and I now take weekly voice lessons from Michelle. They are both fabulous teachers and more important genuinely love what they do. They encourage us tremendously and we really look forward to our 1/2 hour of "Just for me" time every week.

Jay is in the other room playing right now!! I am grateful for Sen Music and owner Gary who has made it affordable for us to actually pursue some fun and personal growth again!

I had a few lessons this week for guitar and music theory - absolutely awesome! The instructors are very pleasant to work with and aren't intimidating at all. They are engaging and do a wonderful job at making you feel comfortable in a great learning environment.

I only come here when I'm in town, and I truly wish I was around more often so I can come each week.

I would highly recommend this place to anyone who is interested in music lessons (voice, guitar, ukelele, etc.).
