Rita's Italian Ice & Frozen Custard

The ice flights are amazing! Love that there are new flavors every day! I like being able to try multiple ice flavors at once! I always enjoy going to Rita's and this one was no disappointment!!

We frequently stop by Rita's throughout the season. I really love the mango Italian Ice. They have different flavors everyday. You can go on there website and see what flavors they have for the day, which is pretty cool. The prices aren't to bad either. The location isn't the greatest. It's on S Reading Rd which is always busy and the parking lot is super tiny so getting in and out is a pain.

Made a pit stop here after my Lancaster Brewery run. They didn't have my usual, go-to flavors of Coffee or Rootbeer so I was boxed into a corner on a Banana Gelato .

Damn was it good. Sometimes the best discoveries are made when you are put on the spot.

A banana and vanilla gelato is my new flavor of summer 2016! Staff was friendly and efficient , which is all you can ask for in the ice cream game.

They closed over an hour before they were scheduled to close. We went to two other locations and they were closed as well. At least advertise the actual closing time if they were planing on closing early.

Use to be really good. Great selection of flavors, could see them online, and great customer service. Went there twice now since they opened this season and have had horrible experiences. Ice was half melted when we got it and the misto we had was more frozen custard than ice. Not to mention the kids who helped us where not friendly at all.

We decided to stop at this Rita's and get some treats after dinner. I got a mint gelati and she got a melon gelati. Both were good, but seemed strangely small. The "regular" size in Lancaster seems bigger.. My girl also commented on the size. She goes to this Rita's regularly and says they seem smaller. Its possible they changed what regular is..

They do have some places to sit, unlike the Rita's on Columbia ave. They've got benches and some picnic tables out back.

Anyway, it was good. Mmm.

Why 2 stars for this Rita's? Because their flavors are limited-I could go on & on about this-but-simply put-they don't have old standbys like cherry on the menu daily-& they rotate the menu everyday-with limited selection.
