The food is the BEST, however the service was questionable. Only 3 girls working at noon on Sunday. No manager around. The line of people was 'out-the-door'.
The 'system' of taking care of the customers was extremely chaotic. I had to ask 4 times (and 15 minutes) for a cup so I could get WATER. I was with 4 other paying people who were caught in their web of bad service. The 3 girls working there seemed angry as they really needed about 3 more people working at that hour.
However the great food and pastries ALMOST made up for the BAD service.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jeff G.Sun City, AZ16100145Mar 25, 2024Updated review
Big update!!! Just picked up some frozen pizza dough and was about to pay for it. The brunette working the register may have been the most passive aggressive person I've met in the last 5 years. She asked what my number was and I didn't know we had to get a number. There was no one else in line! She continued to loudly berate me in front of the diners as to the importance of getting a number. Once again, there was no one in line. As I was
Paying, she grabbed 2 more signs and stated that there's a big sign on the door. A patron walked in and grabbed a number, the cashier loudly proclaimed, " thank you for grabbing a number!!! That is how you do it!".
While my initial review was 5-star, they are now a dismal 1-star for the worst treatment of a customer. I will let all of my network know this happened and sadly, service help will cost this owner thousands in revenue. They should take care of the problem asap!!! I'm in here to help small biz owners succeed. They need to train their staff as I will not return until some of their staff are retrained. Avoid unless you like to be treated like crap and be openly berated about missing the number machine. Getting flashbacks of the "Soup Nazi" on Seinfeld.Helpful 2Thanks 1Love this 2Oh no 1Mar 18, 2021Previous reviewI've only been here once, but have plans to go back soon. First of all, I was greeted with a smile and that's always a good start! Their selection is incredible and the quality, presentation in the boxing of the desserts makes it top class. It is the typical feel I have an Italian bakery and/or deli that you would see back east.I like that! I bought a selection of napoleons cannolis and other treats for my wife's birthday. Unfortunately we ate them before I could take any pictures. It's not easy to see, as it's tucked away in a small strip mall. Look forward Butcher Bobs and Tolivers flooring, off of Bell.

This place is a gem in the middle of the desert. In addition to the most delicious Italian sweets, they have a cafe and also sell pre-packed Italian dishes to go. This place is worth going out of your way to visit.
Service is excellent too. Remember to grab a line number on way in.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - 1822447637May 11, 2024Updated review2 check-ins
Unfortunately, I must leave my first two-star review and for a place I really love. I don't know what happened today. All customers must take a number when entering to get served. Our number, 72, was called and we excitedly stepped up to the counter to put in our order. There was one strawberry cream cake left and that's what we wanted for Mother's Day. We placed our sandwich order to eat in and then ordered the strawberry cream cake and two lattes. The young lady taking our order said "No, hold on. I need to hand the sandwich order over before I continue to take your order." She went over to the sandwich area for about five minutes. Hubs went over and got our server's attention and said, "We wanted the Strawberry Cream cake over there and there's only one left." Our server said, "I'll be right there." We stood there confused at the delay and then became frustrated and panicked as we watched another young lady behind the service counter sell our strawberry cream cake to two women who were two numbers behind us, number 74. As the other server reached for the box to pack it, our server returned and we vocalized our concerns and let her know that our cake was being boxed for someone else. She shrugged and said, "Would you like the strawberry tart? It's big." She stared blankly at us and offered no apology, acting instead like we were being strange to be upset.
We sat to eat our sandwiches and lattes. Hubs didn't enjoy his Meatball Parm Sandwich with stale bread and old meatballs. My daughter's All American Sandwich also had stale bread that tore up her mouth. It just wasn't the same. We left very dissatisfied, mostly with service. I suppose it matters who is staffed when customers arrive. I do not understand the point of the number system if it is absolutely meaningless when the customer is ordering. We will not be having dessert this Mother's Day. Sorry Mom.Helpful 7Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 5May 9, 2024Previous reviewDo you need any sweet treats, pastries, or fresh cakes for Mother's Day coming up? This Italian bakery and café, @my.daddys.italian.bakery has quite a selection. Most of the desserts and all of the cookies are baked in-house. I'm definitely tempted to eat dessert first, along with espresso from the café at the back of the establishment.
Today I ordered a sandwich and a soda. This sandwich is my idea of a perfection. I love the thinly sliced Italian meats and cheese with the shredded lettuce, tomato, and just the right amount of vinegar on a crusty fresh loaf. Even the loaf is a good size, not too big or small. I ordered:
- DANIELLA'S DELIGHT ITALIAN COLD SANDWICH (Ham, Salami, Cappy, Provolone), as it comes
- Can of Coca-Cola
Sandwich Toppings Offered: Lettuce, Tomato, Onion, Pickles, Pepperocini, Black Olives, Mayo, Mustard, Oil, Vinegar
Grab a number when you walk in and when it is called, put in your order. Also, notice the grab-and-go and take-and-bake items in the freezer and refrigerator cases along the outer wall. I love the casual corner Café feel here. - Mar 13, 20243 check-ins
We've been coming here a while. We've had everything from the fresh bakery items to the take home frozen pizza and everything in between. The sandwiches are fantastic, baked goods amazing and people are the best.
Take a number when you walk in and you'll want one of everything by the time you check out.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Mattfoodie Y.Little Italy, San Diego, CA03May 14, 2024

food was good. making us use a number when we were the only ones in the restaurant was silly. The owner was a jerk and doesn't listen to his patrons or his workers. Seriously couldn't get a box for pastry even when I tried to purchase it. There are better Italian pastry shops, I won't go back.

This is my second review for My Daddy's Bakery. We were having a dinner party with Italian theme. We ordered a tiramisu cake and , it was the best tiramisu we have ever had. One of our guest is a pastry chef and she could not say enough about it. She actually took home the left over cake. My Daddy's Bakery is the best.
We drive from Wickenburg Ranch for their pastries!!!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Muriel S.Central City, Phoenix, AZ2769Feb 2, 2024
