Great place to visit regarding introductory information on what to do in Yosemite and where to eat in the area. The ladies that helped me were such sweethearts and very helpful. Would definitely recommend stopping by to get to know the area better.

Went in hoping to get advice. I grabbed a map and a flyer. The lady at the desk asked if I need help. I explained to her I was looking for advice. Her reply was "welp, you got a map and a flyer right there.

Lovely. I just walked out. Least friendly, most cold experience. I'm so surprised.

Well some people, especially people equipped for the cell phone and the knowledge of how to search on Yelp or other databases often think but they might not need a visitor center. Well I'm here to tell you stopping at The Visitor Center is always fun. Fun you say? What is this guy trying to tell me you might think. That's okay drive on if you like. But for an expanded experience, a clean restroom, a a human being to interact with, a selection of brochures to view and put back in the rack, and maybe we're getting onto what a visitor center is. Often times there's coffee for you, sometimes food, and usually at least a story or two I give you a reason why you should be in this area. I always have a good time chatting with them in a visitor center and will continue to frequent them, first floor restroom. And then for information, and then for free goodies, and that local Outlook into the area. Give it a try you might have fun

Not totally sure what to do around here or all the places to go visit. Then stop here. The ladies are super helpful and have many brochures, packets and insight. They can help you plan your weekend and maximize your time out here.

I came here to pick up some information about Yosemite National Park. The place was consistently busy with people coming in and out for information. There was only one lady working the counter, but she was quite knowledgeable about Mariposa and Yosemite. She gave me lots of handouts about the park and everything else I'd need to know. She did a great job in juggling the people coming in for info along with the phone calls she received. This is a great place to come if you're a visitor and need to know current road conditions for Yosemite (since we came in winter).

The park ranger at the desk was so informative, we only had a few hours to visit and she gave us all the information we needed and more. She gave us the maps and highlighted them with places where we should stop. She let us prepay our entrance fee and good thing she gave us the brochures because we were pretty hungry once we got to Yosemite Valley, it had tons of dining and lodging information. We were offered the free candy but we already had a bunch of junk food. Lots of souvineers for purchase there too, books, glassware and free pamphlets.

My wife and I won a 2-night stay at any hotel along Hwy41 or Hwy49 and 2-free zip line tours. Yes people REALY do win those things! Well my wife and I decided to to spend our 21st Wedding Anniversary at the 5th Street Inn in your Beautiful little town. We had such a great time walking into all the little shops and meeting the nicest people who live there. And the food in any one of the diners, steak houses or happy burger joints OMG if we lived closer I would be the size of a house. We just want to say sorry it took us so long to visit your Beautiful little town and we plan to make it back to see everyone next year on our 22nd. Thanks again for making a special weekend even more special. Matt-n-Terra

This was a fantastic stop on our way to explore the park. We went during the off season in the fall, and one of the main roads was closed, so I thought we weren't going to be able to see any of the attractions, and that our trip was a complete waste. But no! The clerk was so informative and helpful and completely saved our trip! She told us of a route that would take us into the park and loop around so we could see all the landmarks, like waterfalls and half dome, and then conveniently come back around to our hotel on the other side of the park. She also suggested a couple of local museums that would give us a greater appreciation for the area. We were also looking to pan for gold, and she was able to give us advice, direct us to a place to buy supplies, and tell us a little local lore about people finding nuggets in the gutter! We also purchased maps and got some free literature about the park during the fall. Thank goodness for places like this! It not only helps the town thrive on tourism, but helps visitors appreciate all there is to do and see.
