The Sellersville Theater is one of my favorite music venues. I've attended three shows here this year, Karla Bonoff, Chris Smither, and Bill Kirchen. The sound system is superb, and the seating comfortable. The first rows are cabaret tables with theater seating behind. The place is small enough to feel an intimacy with the performers. Ticket prices are very reasonable. The artists usually come out during the intermission and after the show to chat with fans and sign autographs. The acts I see skew towards an older crowd, so the audience is respectful (no talking, cell phones, etc.). The three show I mentioned were terrific.
The management also runs the landmark Washington House hotel and restaurant next door. The hotel is a renovated historical building with eleven guest rooms. The rooms are very comfortable with an interesting mix of antiques and modern amenities. Tthe staff is pleasant and helpful. It's pleasant to stay overnight after a late-ending show, as I live some distance away.
The first time I had dinner at the restaurant I thought it was excellent, the last time, still OK. I'll be going back to the hotel and the restaurant for the next show.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - Aug 21, 2023
What a local gem! After dinner at the Washington House next door we entertained our out-of-state guests with a show which featured the "Sharkskins" opening band to the well known legendary "Ventures". Both shows were just amazing in so many ways. Very entertaining and such talented members to each group. Very nostalgic. We had the best time ever. They have a great line up of entertainment but get your tickets early. You need to give it a try. A great night out.

Returning to Sellesville Theatre for the Ray Wyle Hubbard show was a treat. Glad to see the same friendly staff, beautiful small theatre, not a bad seat in the house! Opening artist, Lauren Calve from Washington, DC started the show with a short set of original songs and ending with a Loretta Lynn number " You Ain't Woman Enough To Take My Man" ( Loretta passed away earlier this week). Ray did a 99 minute set, just him accompanied by his son Lucas on electric guitar. An excellent night of live music at Sellersville!

The theatre is always a pleasure. Clean neat and a wonderful staff. Parking can be a challenge if you get there just before show time. Getting there early allows time to relax at the restaurant next door or just walk around a bit. The show was incredible! Starting with a short set by Joe Robinson, a guitar virtuoso from Australia. After a short intermission (drinks and snacks available in the lobby) Rodney's set begins - accompanied by Joe Robinson and fiddle player Eamon McLougllin playing a nice 90 minute set of songs from his 40 year career as on of Nashville's premiere songwriters and being Merle Haggard's Birthday/passing Day paid tribute with 2 songs of the Hag's. Great venue, great music!
Jul 20, 2018Previous reviewI can only get to Sellersville Theatre 3 or 4 times a year as I live 60 miles away, which is probably a good thing for my wallet.
Last night Ray Wylie Hubbard returned and performed a great select of his rockin' country blues. The theatre is comfortable, sight lines good and sound is fine. The staff is always friendly. Nice 20 minute intermission gave folks time for a smoke or beverage. Always have a pleasant experience at this venue.Aug 22, 2015Previous reviewWhat a great little 300 seat venue to see music. Living in NJ, it's a long haul to get there but I love this place. The employees are always friendly and accomodating. Tonight, Chris Hillman & Herb Pedersen - can't wait, saw there here once before. Nice air conditioning, too. I sprang for a table seat (check for availability 30 days prior to the show as they are held for members until that point).

Things run smoothly with the theater. Very pleased with staff and volunteers over the last 20 years. I love the performers.

Charming Theatre which means its old, small yet quaint. Don't think it seats more than 300 people with small bar in front very small bathrooms and a very long narrow view down to the stage.
We were literally on the stage 1st row so I can't judge the sound system as well as if I was sitting back a bit, but the center channel sounds of the singer were not strong enough in the front row.
Very Nice staff and real nice place to see a show but certainly and enjoyable venue.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jack P.Douglas, MA62741Aug 22, 2023

I went to see the fabulous and spirited Phil Vassar, he is a country music artist who has written some hit songs for Alan Jackson, Tim McGraw, Colin Raye and Jodee Messina. He is also one of the most under appreciated talents in country music. His songs are emotional, touching, spirited, fun and uplifting. Incredibly talented, humble, and I could go on and on. I've seen him perform once before at Penn's Peak.
Sellersville Theater is a very small intimate theater. The theater seats on 324 so it means nearly every seat is good. Understandably they cater to their subscribers so I felt fortunate to get decent seats to this event.
The staff at the venue was polite and helpful. I enjoyed the show immensely. I was pretty surprised that the theater allowed concert goers to be up out of their seats, towards the front of the stage, to watch the show in the aisles though. It was great for me though because I had the perfect view of handsome, hunky and buff Phil Vassar .
The venue has a small concession stand and sells cocktails and snacks. I was surprised to see alcohol and food permitted inside the theater too. As you can tell, I don't get out too much. When I've seen shows at other venues you enjoyed your refreshments before going in.
I loved the fact Phil offered a 6 pm show for early risers like myself and a 9PM show. I was a bit disappointed in the length of the show, I think it was an hour and 15 minutes. The opening performer, Kendal Conrad, was on for 30 minutes which seemed long to me for an opening. After everyone finally got situated for the opening act and immediately after Kendal's performance, there was an intermission that I didn't quite understand- my guess was to sell merchandise. I stayed put.
Although the show was shorter than I had hoped, I would still go back to Sellersville Theater. The price was right and I adore Phil Vassar. I looked at their upcoming shows and there are few I've even heard of, so maybe next year?Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0Business owner information

Thank you for your review, Jen H! We appreciate that you noticed our staff's presence and helpfulness, and the intimacy of our venue.
We usually have an intermission between sets. During that time, we may need to re arrange the stage equipment for the headliner, or give the main act a break if they are playing two sets. We also want to give patrons a chance to go to the restrooms, get another drink or buy the artist's merchandise, so there is less interruption during the performance. - Yvette K.East Brunswick, NJ9748Nov 27, 2022
First time at this tiny theater. I will definitely be back. Beatlemania Now was a fun show. The theater is small but nicely laid out. The sound was good too. Really enjoyed the show.

Friendly, small music venue that hosts a lot of good acts. I've seen Allen Toussaint, Roseann Cash, Fountains of Wayne, and tonight Richie Furay Band (of Poco fame).
It's small and narrow, only 14 seats wide. So pretty much every seat is good. Acoustics are fine. It's been beautifully restored with lovely wallpaper and low lighting. Seats reasonably comfortable.
There's draft beer, wine, snacks, and coffee and tea with free refills. They post the expected decibel level for the show and offer earplugs which is a thoughtful touch.
Plenty of street parking in the hood. And eating spots. It's just out of the way. I'd like to go more often. The staff is very cool. No hassles.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Nov 4, 2017
What a great place for a rock concert!
300 seat theater. All unobstructed views. "Cafe" up front for members who love their music up close, personal and full of sprayed sweat. Even we peons in Row O were just above the heads of the band and had perfect location for the sound and fury. Comfortable seats and room enough to stand and boogie when the proper riffs blew us out of our chairs.
Indigenous was fantastic! The opening act, Greg Soder Band played bluesy rock for 20 minutes and then gracefully moved aside for Mato Nanji and his mates to take off the roof. This Native American group from North Dakota has been rocking since the late 1990s. The members have changed, but the raw talent and energy has not. Mato is a complete original heavy guitarist. He sounds like a cross between Stevie Ray Vaughn, Jimi Hendrix and Carlos Santana with Warren Haynes thrown in. His own songs are very good, and when he segues into Voodoo Child, Little Wing and I'm a Man instrumental, he amplifies and projects a towering presence that just sends the house into orbit.
And, when all is sung and done, and they have played their last encore, they come to the lobby for a meet & greet. No rush. Just hanging with their fans, signing autographs and selling their latest CD. Friendly, grateful and totally engaged.
Sellersville Theater is a gift from the rock and blues gods. How I wish the folks running the old Newtown Theater would take a chance and run some hot music through it's stage.Helpful 21Thanks 0Love this 19Oh no 0
