Q:
Are there any non-meat based broths for the pho?
A:
Pho is a beef-based broth, so even the pho with tofu & vegetables uses pho broth. Huynh has several other soup/broth options, including chicken-based broth and a spicy broth with chilis and lemongrass, but they are not vegetarian either. There… more

Amazing food and service. I have celiac and am usually very hesitant to branch out when eating out. The staff made me feel so comfortable with teasing out gluten free options and my husband and I had an overall wonderful experience. We will be coming back...soon!

One of my favorite Viet spots. Great for to go as well. Customer service is amazing and the food is always fresh. I love the pork spring rolls and combination pho. The broth is soooo good. They have a parking lot. Closed between lunch and dinner so check the hours. Try the lemonade soda - it's addictingly good!

Truly located in the heart of downtown Houston so there's limited parking. It depends on the time of day you come because there could be a wait or you could get seated right away. They have a whole other section of the restaurant that is just for the waiting lobby which is odd since I figured they could've expanded to add more dining tables. It doesn't have the same vibe as a Vietnamese restaurant you would find in Chinatown but rest assured, everything is still authentic. I've tried multiple dishes overtime and I can't get enough of this place! My favorite would probably have to be the bowl of pho because you honestly can't go wrong with that. The soup is so savory it'll just warm your insides. The noodles are cooked to perfection and the meat always hits!

Best Vietnamese food I have had. Excellent. Limited vegetarian choices, but enough vegetarian choices that I found plenty I wanted to eat.

Excellent food, friendly, and speedy service! We had the Bo Luc Lac and it was phenomenal! It was cooked to perfection with the right amount seasoning and veggies that were so good. I can still taste them now... that good! The rice they served with it was not just plain rice but like a really good garlicky fried rice. The duck salad was very tasty. My friends grilled chicken was great too.

This was our first time and it came highly recommended by several people. We got the steak and eggs that everyone else raved about and they did not disappoint

One of my husband and I's FAVORITE spot!!! We love it here. Great owners and good solid Vietnamese food. Pretty close to as authentic as you'll get in the US.

We absolutely love this place! Great healthier option for dinner or lunch around eado. It's bring your own beer, but try their lemonade, it's so good. Everything on the menu is delicious if you like Vietnamese food. Restaurant is super cute and they opened a section for waiting inside. We go back all the time, I 100% recommend.

The coconut curry is the winner for this spot! Now that I've had it, it's hard to order anything else. I was on the fence about adding broccoli, but I don't think it added much to the dish. Medium was the perfect heat level for me.
The smoothies are a must-try!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 72134174Feb 27, 2024Updated review7 check-ins
Stopped by with a friend who has Celiac's. They were very accommodating letting us know everything that was gluten free as well as how they could make certain dishes gluten free if they were not. Therefore there were a lot of options for my friend making it a really nice experience, as well as options we could all share without fear of gluten. Other places we visited were not nearly as accommodating. I already love going here, but I thought I would mention this extra plus!
They have a large menu with a lot of options that remind me of my favorite Vietnamese restaurant back from my home near D.C.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 3Oh no 0Oct 25, 2023Previous reviewLarge menu with so many tasty Vietnamese dishes. The food comes out quickly, even when they are very busy (which is often). Lots of classic dishes as well as ones you may not have tried before.
The restaurant is comfortable with a lot of tables and a good ambiance. It is located close to other East Downtown/East End venues as well as close to downtown.Aug 7, 2023Previous reviewThe food was very tasty and better than other Vietnamese places I have been in the area. The selection of dishes is large and seems customizable. We only tried some noodle and soup dishes, the summer rolls, the smoothie and coffee, but I will be back to try more and give you all an update on the rest. They had very flavorful broth, which is a MUST for pho, as well as all the classic toppings. We got our food super fast even though the place was very busy, so that is always a plus.
