Stopped at Fatty's for a drink after a long day in the sun. This bar is upstairs on the second level above a pizza joint. We arrived just as happy hour was ending, so we were able to take advantage of the drink specials. My husband was craving a pina colada, but they don't have a blender to make frozen drinks. So, he ordered Pain Killers instead. The drink was good. This place is a dive bar, so keep that in mind. They had one pool table, some slot machines, Nintendo and Play Station, and the swinging ring toss game. We sat outside on the balcony and watched the scene below as people were out and about. They had colored Christmas lights on the balcony which was cool, and they had a really large mural of the islands. We only stayed for one drink.

I'm definitely a fan of Fatty's....one of the staples of Red Hook and for some reason whenever we are out we usually end up either starting here or ending here....either way its gonna be a good time! They are usually always part of pub crawls or other parties, and I have to say every time I'm here there is SOME form of entertainment, even if its just the people I came with!
Their drinks are good, and the bartenders at night are super friendly and nice...they play good music too so that's always a plus! Its always nice to come here and people watch around Red Hook since they have their open seating area, and a great place if your friends are smokers too since you are already outside! They have a good number of tables as well, and you can usually get either a table or a place at the bar fairly easily.
There's a pool table that gets a good amount of use, and the other night we came here and there was karaoke so that was definitely entertaining! It is a bit of a seedy place, and I really didn't like it when I first moved here, but now its grown on me and I have to say I'm a fan! Have had some great times here and now I'm attached to this place...it has a certain charm to it for sure!
Another thing is I actually DO like their food as well! My favorite thing to get here is their Cuban Quesadilla....its like a Cuban Sandwich only in a quesadilla instead....and its awesome! Served with sour cream, I get it almost every time I come here, yes its greasy, yes its pub food....but its GOOD!!! Definitely try it out, one of my favorites!Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Lana B.Orlando, FL58198225Aug 12, 2016
disgusting dirty bar.
Came in looking for some food for dinner and left promptly. No wonder no one talks about the food on here. I don't think they serve any. It was really loud and full of drunk annoying tourists. Pass!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Deb C.Tampa, FL0226Jul 30, 2017
Yes, it's a dive bar. But bartender was super friendly, and the boneless tenders were really good (not from a bag of frozen premade ones) but seemed freshly hand breaded but not overly breaded, which I prefer. Views of the street made for cool people watching. For what this place is (not a fancy place) it's pretty cool.

Is it raining outside?
Do you need a break from the USVI sun?
Or are you just in the mood for a little juvenile entertainment?
If you answered yes to any of the above questions, Fatboys is for you.
I'd recommend coming here during the day (evenings seem to be crazy and the bathroom becomes unbearable). The food isn't excellent (wings were good but the salsa that came with the chips tasted like weed) but you can drink some cheap beers, play pool, and just chill out.
The highlight of our trip to Fatboys was the "Icing" contraption the bartenders were building...basically a string, duct tape, and bindings created a sort of pulley that could be used to lower a bottle of Smirnoff into someone's general vicinity and BAM...You're Iced! Unfortunately for him (but hilarious for us), the bartender got smashed in the face with the bottle (black eye and all) while doing a test run . You can't make this stuff up.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - James H.Marina del Rey, CA257411Jan 28, 2017
Crystal is the sweetest, coolest broad on St. Thomas -- no question about it. Tip her HUGE! ; )

Overpriced!!!! We had burgers and drinks (2) each. Burgers $14 and $7 drinks. Food wasn't bad, just $$$ when the Still is right across the street and 1/2 price for the same quality. There was a new menu on the counter that we saw. It had burgers for $7. It also had breakfast 11-2. Once they implement the new menu, I think business will improve. The new menu offered 2 eggs, meat, hash browns and pancakes as a meal with Jack Daniel Whiskey Syrup. After seeing that, I reasaallly wanted pancakes. Nope! Not that day, anyhow. Even though I could see the Aunt Jemima mix from where we sat. Sigh!

Best happy hour in Red Hook, possibly on the entire east side of the island. It's 3-7, cheap drinks, beer buckets and half-price sandwiches and burgers, which is perfect for a post-beach late afternoon lunch. I had the shark bites (phenomenal) and the chipotle burger. Used the extra chipotle aioli from the shark bites on the burger, which was not a bad move.
Don't bother with the buffalo chicken sammich - it's just two tenders on a bun, which makes it super hard to eat.
Pro tip: there is ONE usable pool cue and this table has seen better days, after years of exposure to humidity and salty air. Requires a dead lift and hard drop on one end to jostle the balls if they get stuck.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Kevin A.Chicago, IL260772150Mar 9, 2009
MAYBE ONE OF THOSE SHARKS IN THEIR LOGO WILL EAT ME
And put me out of my misery, I thought as I suffered through my "meal" at Fat Boy's. First the food just isn't good from the burgers to the fries to the wings. I'm sure this place is fine if you just want to hang out and drink, but do yourself a favor and eat somewhere else first.
Making matters worse was the horrible service from our waitress. We were one of two tables she was serving and she could not have been less present or more indifferent. We would constantly try to get her attention for basics like utensils, refills, etc. but her shift was ending soon and she just didn't give a shit. Although she did stop by to ask us to cash out to collect her tip. What a peach.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 5Oh no 0
