Is there a dress code?
A:
I did not see any one in shorts, but neither jeans or upscale was out of place either. It has a feel of both comfort but really nice without having to try too hard. Food is delicious.

I'm met friends here for dinner and this was the first time for all of us. This spot is utterly charming! We were greeted warmly, and Pedro took good care of us throughout the evening. His service was efficient and excellent.
We started with salads, and the Beet Salad with goat cheese was very tasty and big enough to be a meal! The Sand Dab entree was delicious and generous. It was just as good the next day. We finished off the meal with profiteroles filled with coffee ice cream.
We will be sure to do this again next time we are in town!Helpful 3Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0 - Georgia N.Fairfield, CA445Dec 28, 2023
We ate here last night and in the middle of the meal we were like "this is basically just fancier Olive Garden."
The ambiance is incredible, the location great, and the service was lovely and attentive. But the food was just mediocre at best. Especially for the prices. They're trying to do too much (is it French? Spanish? Italian?) and not doing anything well as a result.
The tapas appetizer was a celery root salad, a little pate on tiny pieces of toasted bread, some suspicious and weird tasting mushrooms, smoked prosciutto, and a weird bell pepper cheese situation that we couldn't stomach. The French onion soup was good. The cannoli was fine. The scallops were delicious, everything they came with (pasta, veggies) could have been out of a freezer bag.
Juice not worth squeeze.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - John S.Stillwater, OK0261Apr 23, 2024
This place is not what it used to be. Unfortunately an absentee owner has seen a decline in the quality of food and service.
The beat salad had minimal beats, and this hand dabs were severely overcooked .

This is such an adorable restaurant. The service was amazing, the staff were attentive, kind, and knowledgeable. We were lucky to be able to walk in with no reservations. The food was delicious! From the bread/butter, wine to our dessert... everything was amazing

Their $15 capresse salad was awesome, would definitely consider coming back for that. Their $15 calamari appetizer is a breaded calamari steak. I like that it came precut and had a nice thickness to it to give it a good bite. The sauce it came with was also nice. That said, I think that while the calamari appetizer was good, it wasn't necessarily super memorable, so I don't think I would come back just to order it.
I think it was really cool that they also make fresh soufflés here, so if you have a soufflé craving this is a good spot to get a $15 soufflé.
I liked the bright lighting of the dining area and it is quiet enough to have a conversation with your table.
The service was excellent, with regular check ins and thoughtful suggestions.
I'd come back to try other items on the menu.Helpful 0Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0 - May 9, 2023
We came here for dinner and the place was quite good! From outside, the place looked really nice (and even a lot prettier at night, with the building lights aglow). We had reservations so we just went straight in. Our party was of seven people, so we were seated at a table for eight. The place was nicely decorated, low lights to provide the ambiance for dates probably...
The food was excellent. I had the calamari steak and it was really good! It was my first time to have it, so it was surprisingly different...I was expecting calamari rings, but this was nothing like that at all!
The service was outstanding. Our waiter was always around to see to our group. And no matter how many tables he saw to, he was never out of reach for refills or questions. And his knowledge of the menu was above board!
The price was in the middle ranges. But with the quality and the taste, it was well worth the price! If you are in the area and are looking for quality food at a reasonable price, Fandango is the place to be.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - 1943251531Apr 6, 2023
First time ... great selection breakfast - usually eggs, omelette, pancakes, waffles to lunch - sandwiches, burgers, soups and salads to Chinese and dinner with steaks, pot roast, salmon and many more.
Enjoyed their Denver steak soup and sloppy joe.

I have had dinner at this restaurant several times over the year and have never been disappointed. During the height of the COVID I had dinner in someone's backyard next to the restaurant. Even the ambiance, service and food was amazing...

We came here for New Year's Eve Dinner. It was a Fixed menu with lots of entrees to choose from. Service was wonderful. They're always checking on you.
The price per person is $125. Pretty steep and only worth it if you're going to order seafood and steak. Since I'm allergic to shellfish, my options were pretty limited.
For appetizer, we had the option between cream of tomato soup or the prawn cocktail. The prawns were huge! The soup was not creamy.
For salad, we had the option between Caesar or spinach mimosa. Nothing exciting.
For entrees, my son and husband ordered the filet Mignon with two lobster tails (totally worth the $125 each). My daughter ordered the prime rib and I ordered the salmon.
For dessert, they ran out of soufflé glacé for us so we ended up with profiteroles and chocolate mousse.
Overall the food was decent. If we ordered this off the menu, I don't think we would've spent anything close to $500 when with cocktails. But it's the holidays and I hope the staff was paid well to work on NYE. They deserve it!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0Aug 28, 2022Previous reviewBeautiful restaurant out here in Pacific Grove. Lovely ambience and a delicious menu. The service is great. Lots of staff walking by to check on you.
Order the soufflé ahead of time as it takes about 30 min to prepare.
They have a full bar but no cocktail menu. I like seeing choices because I don't like to think of what cocktail I feel like having. I ended ordered a cosmo. Our waiter asked me what vodka I preferred. They had many brands to choose from (Grey Goose, Ketel One, etc.) But I digress... My cosmo was pretty and definitely strong!
We weren't too terribly hungry so we ordered small:
Caprese Salad - Beautiful presentation, sweet heirloom tomatoes all stacked in between mozzarella slices.
Calamari appetizer - I was expecting the small crispy rings and tentacles. It is not. It was a small calamari steak breaded with an amazing lemon butter sauce. It was fantastic!
Osso Bucco - tender and full of flavor on a bed of saffron rice. The beef shank was melt in your mouth! The sauce was good but I felt that it needed more zing and less of it on the plate because the rice became mushy.
We also ordered a side of pasta with garlic and olive oil.
I have to give a shout out to the bread when we sat down. It was the BEST bread I've ever had at a restaurant!!! Good chew! Great flavor. Yummy!! And a side of olives.
For dessert, we had the soufflé which my husband LOVED!!!! I don't think I've ever had a soufflé and I found it too eggy.
We also got the profiteroles (free with Yelp check-in) and another plate of profiteroles for my birthday. They were really really good especially when they put delicious ice cream in between the profiteroles and drizzled them with chocolate sauce!
I'd give Fandango 5 stars but they kind of messed up my husband's request about my birthday. I believe for special occasions, the restaurant decorates your table with confetti and my hubby had to ask them for a candle on my dessert in front of me. That was a bummer. But it's okay. It was a nice dinner overall. - Aug 21, 2023
I guess I didn't know what to expect when I accompanied some friends to this restaurant while in a work trip. I'm very glad I went. The atmosphere is more on the formal side but not pretentious. The service was exceptional with every staff member we met going above and beyond four our party. I'm a bit of a balsamic junkie, so I ordered the caprese salad was very good, but the paella was the outstanding. I will absolutely go back next time I'm in the area.
