The primary reason behind Yelp Elite Events is to introduce the Elite Squad to businesses that they might not otherwise even know existed and in hopes that they will:
1) write a good review of the business
2) tell friends & family about the business
3) return to the business with friends in tow and
4) spread the word about the business & its neighborhood
Breathe Yoga & Cycling Studio is a business that I have probably passed dozens of times and never gave it a second glance. It is a small corner shop that doesn't shout at you; but when you get inside the warmth and spirit of the studio grips you body and soul. You know you have entered a realm of caring, fitness, and relaxation. You are in Yoga Land.
How many of us will return? I don't know. But what I do know is that we will tell others about the wonderful classes and serenity that this place provides to the neighborhood and community.
The event was small, but provided a great introduction to a local business. I also learned a new neighborhood that I will return to for a variety of businesses . . . including yoga & cycling.
Thanks Laura for yet another unique YEE evening!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Carly B.Asheville, NC398586105Jan 24, 2011
Wait, I get to drink great beer and I can get away with wearing yoga pants and I feel like I'm getting in my Friday night socializing? Count me in!
First of all, this is a lovely studio. I was particularly impressed by the big screen simulating an actual bike ride. The downstairs room for yoga was super-calm and soothing....unlike the fun and wacky partner poses we got to try out (or contemplate trying out, in some cases).
To top everything off, I won a case of beer! Not nearly as awesome as a Yelp shake-weight, but it was almost there. I also ended up with a drunken class package purchase. This seemed like a good idea at the time until I woke up and realized that I already have two yoga/spinyoga memberships (I actually thought of this while I was making the purchase, but it seemed perfectly rational at the time). Thank goodness they didn't have apparel for sale or the credit cards would have been in a world of hurt.
Good people too, and I saw and met lots of cool Yelpers. Thanks to Laura and the ladies at Breathe for such a cool and unique event!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Nicole W.Denver, CO2471851595Jan 23, 2011
Woohoo Laura! Awesome event!
Snacks from SAME were great!
Cupcakes were adorable
Wine, beer, fruit juice - yummies!
Location is cute, yoga room downstairs is virtually sound proof which is awesome!
Partner yoga was interesting, good thing i brought my own friend!
Staff was friendly, bubbly and adorable.
I would have loved more yoga, but i guess it was more of an intro to the location vs a yoga class!
Love the new yelp shirts available during the raffle - when can we but one??
Yeah me for winning bar bingo - need to set up a uye for that! :)

It's often difficult to combine two of my favorite things: beer and yoga. But somehow, our lovely CM Laura and Sarah of Breathe Yoga managed to do just that!
What a great event! Delicious, healthy snacks provided by SAME Cafe, accompanied by fluffy pastries and the cutest mini cupcakes. Let's not forget the great beer from Deschutes Brewery!
After mingling and catching up with fellow Yelpers, Sarah invited us to practice a few partner poses in the yoga studio. Boy it felt good to stretch out those hamstrings a bit! Sarah's got a great space here at Breathe Yoga; I'll be back to check out a class or two in no time.
This was a cool and unique event. I feel like I may be echoing every one of my previous Elite Event reviews, but my goodness, I'm impressed! Nicely done Laura, Yelp crew, and Breathe Yoga! You definitely did it again!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Maha K.Denver, CO49924611Jan 23, 2011
Yoga makes me mellow, and that was just how this event was. I needed the mellow, mostly because law school is hacking away like a corporate bulldozer at my tree pose.
Sarah's studio is beautiful, serene, and quiet. You'd never think it was possible on Colfax. But oh, it is!
The Yelp cupcakes were creamy, sweet, and the right touch of fluffy. The wine, delicious. I'm not sure I could remedy drinking beer in a yoga studio, but it seemed to be good enough that people wanted cases-full of it to truck out. SAME Cafe's snacks were the cherry on top.
Justin Keltch Photography was doing some pretty cool shit with the iPad, too. Whatever ad hoc wireless network they created between the camera and the tablet, it made Jesus look like an amateur.
I highly recommend finding your inner-yogi Breathe.
And while you're at it...find a buddy to secure a +1 from because Laura definitely rolls out the red carpet to Denverites.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Christopher B.Denver, CO337935Jan 25, 2011
So, I walked into a fitness/health themed event and immediately had a chocolate mousse cream puff, a cupcake, and a beer. A certain amount of cognitive dissonance followed, but I decided to ignore it and continue enjoying the evening.
I have to say that the event was successful for Breathe; even though I didn't purchase a package from them, I have spread the word about them amongst my friends.
If for nothing else than to tell them how I won a Yelp shake-weight.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Michael S.Denver, CO1802351Jan 23, 2011
I'm just a simple caveman Yelper. I don't know much about things like yoga or health. When I see a downward dog, I think 'Oh no! Are they praying or presenting themselves sexually?' I don't know. Because I'm a caveman -- that's the way we think.
But I do know how wonderful it is to gather with a great group of people, drink delicious beer, and eat mini cupcakes. If those three things aren't good for you, I don't ever want to be healthy.
Thanks to our lovely and talented CM and her incredible team for yet another smashing evening with this awesome Yelp community. You all rule. Also, thanks for introducing me to my new favorite Porter. That, most of all, was deeply appreciated.
Good people, great beer, yummy cupcakes. It was totally worth getting thawed out for this. My apologies to the estate of Phil Hartman.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Kendra L.Denver, CO23115523Jan 26, 2011
This might have to go down as my favorite event {so far} in {my} Yelp Elite history.
What a lovely evening of putting the calories on and burning them off! S.A.M.E Cafe provided some delicious snacks including some mocha cream filled pastry thing that I attempted to scarf inconspicuously. The lesson in this: powdered sugar and flaky pastry dough are not to be secretly eaten. Oh well. On to the beer that Deschutes Brewery so nicely provided (thanks!). And after beer, came Yoga. This was a little weird... like a sentence that begins with a question mark and ends with an exclamation point that says, "? ...actually, this is fun!" Not to mention the studio! I'd actually like to visit for a more serious Yoga session.
Our Community Manager, Laura really pulled off a fantastic event. (Thanks!) What a perfect evening for kicking off shoes and hoisting a stranger over your head (Thanks, Peter C!).Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
