If you're looking for a Cervelo, this is the place to visit (their carbon frames come with a lifetime warranty btw). They have every model in stock and I got a great deal on a new S2. The employees are bike enthusiasts too and I saw one of them that rides his Cervelo to work. What I like best is that the staff isn't snobby. I told the mechanic that I'm not a serious cyclist but I want a flashy looking vanity bike. He was totally cool about it and said, "Life is short so get what makes you happy."

Be prepared to drop a lot of coin if you plan to make a big purchase here. Their inventory mainly consists of road bikes and time trial bikes, but I saw a few track bikes off to the side. They primarily stock high end stuff for serious cyclists and gear heads. Think of it as a luxury car dealership but for bikes. You wouldn't go to an Audi dealership looking to buy a Toyota. The only downside for me is that they don't accept American Express, but that's not an issue for most people.

Huge thank you to Peter and Vance!

It had been at least ten years since I came here.. the first time it was when I was just starting college

I have been searching and searching for bicycle gloves that my brother wanted and I finally found them.

Daisy (the mascot) of the store is a total cutie!! (Dog)
Peter and Vance were totally nice both on the phone and in person as I was scoping through all the different gloves and accessories.

Yes, when you go into the bike shop, they are known for having many vintage classic bikes in the top rack. They have a lot of great eyecandy in this shop and are one of the mentioned dealers in Classic Rendezvous, but with the high end bikes, comes a stand off-ish, stuck up group of workers.

Recently, I've been thinking about building up a custom track frame. I went to them for a Waterford build. I'm a college student in my 4th year and I don't look like I have very much money perhaps, but when I tried to talk to them they wouldn't look me in the eye talking to me. In fact, when I started talking to one of the workers, he started walking off and I was practically chasing him down to try to talk to him while he kept walking. These guys are friendly if you look like you have money, otherwise they don't provide you any service.

Their prices are inflated compared to most bike shops by at least $50 or more. When it comes to rating a bike shop, it doesn't matter how nice your collection of bikes look in your store, but it's rather about the quality of the employees there.

If you're looking for vintage "classic rendezvous" frames, try visiting Stone's Cyclery in Alameda or Bicycle Odyssey in Sausalito. Pity the bike shop next door to my house is so difficult to deal with...

The prices here will have you look twice. The staff is the kind of snob's you expect to be riding Bianchi's with ZIPP's out on Foothill at 14 mph.

The classic bikes are nice to look at, but I just can't get over how snobby these guys are. Definitely a place to avoid for any run of the mill repairs.

Wow, a lot of haters here on yelp. Look, if you don't like fancy cookin', you don't go to the French Laundry, and if you're looking for a cruiser, maybe you don't need to go to Cupertino Bike Shop. For the rest of us, it's a fantastic place to buy drool-worthy race bikes with great service from the owner.

Here's an example: I drove 12 miles with a screaming infant to check out their Cervelo line-up. I got lost, called information, got their number, and called. The owner answered and I mentioned that I was trying to find his shop. He gave me directions, and when I arrived, ushered me in, fawned over my baby, answered all my questions, and was generally as pleasant as could be. I was only interesting buying a frame, not a full build, and his price was the same as the internet retailer of your choice. It wasn't until I pulled out that I saw the closed sign on the door. Yep, he was closed for business (it being a Monday) and never even mentioned it to me. In my book, that's service.

Seriously, real cyclists should not be turned off by these reviews. Give Vance a chance and let us know what you think!

Great selection of bikes and especially helmets! I picked up a Specialized Echelon here and with no regrets. And although I won't be picking up a Carbon DuraAce Di2 bike anytime soon, it's refreshing to see a bike shop with some NICEEE bikes hanging on the walls. Actually they had a really nice Felt TK3 for around 600 on sale! Yes, the expensive bikes were expensive, but they had a few good deals.

I feel like one really needs to understand that it's a mix of product, price, and service. And a 5 star from one person, could mean a 2 star for another. But more importantly, if you couldn't afford the bikes, it doesn't deserve ill-rating. Maybe you should give yourself 2 stars for not understanding that if your price range for a bicycle is $100-$200, you're going to be getting a piece of junk that the bike store can't pay the bills with by selling it to you.

A bike is not just a bike, in the same way that a Ferrari is not just a Kia. Or Hanes Beefy-T's is no Salvatore Ferragamo.

I for one, really like the inventory availability and will continue to come back here for most needs.

It is a nice shop with a whole bunch of nice high end road bikes. I've been in the market for a new bike, and walked in there and was completely ignored (there was me and one other person in the shop), after wandering around looking at stuff for about ten minutes I asked the guy in the shop if he could show me the cervelo stuff. He wasn't particularly helpful, and I think figured me for someone who wouldn't be spending money on a high end road bike. Unfortunately this is one of only a few cervelo dealers in the area. Go in and see for yourself how it is, and then go to another shop like calmar in santa clara or sun ( I have personally purchased mountain bikes from both) in Milpiitas, or even Mikes Bikes which is a gigantic shop with a trillion customers, and I think you'll be better treated.

Prices are slightly less than MSRP. PRetty competetive wit heveryone else. Incidentally on some of their items (accessories) the prices are more than MSRP.

I ended up buying an R3 at front of the pack in Palo Alto instead. I will say these guys do know their stuff, and I have taken my bike here for repairs (closer to where I work), and they have always done a good job, but customer service leaves a great deal to be desired.

I've walked into this shop two different times. Both times I wasn't acknowledged or greeted; waiting over 10 minutes before someone even said "hello". Each time I was was the one of two people in the shop. These experiences really turned me off to this bike shop; it's unfortunate because they have a nice selection of Cervelos.
As for the pricing of the bikes it seemed to be consistent with prices seen at other shops. They don't offer much as far as incentives to buy a bike from them. They offer free adjustments for a year.
Overall my review is they lack in customer service, but have a nice selection of higher-end bikes.

I just got $3,000 worth of stuff from Cupertino Bike Shop and I could not be more pleased! I'm going riding today for sure!

They are definitely a _road_ bike shop and they know their stuff. I spent about three days bugging them about my bike, parts, accessories, etc. and they took it in stride and showed me what was up and I learned a lot and came away happy. Vance was super nice and so were the other guys I met; Michael, Juan, Shannon(?). A lot of the clientele seemed snob nosed and rigid but these guys were patient with people. They ordered my bike for me after sizing me for a frame and stuff and I'm sure they rolled their eyes when I got all picky about the colors but they didn't let on which was sweet of them. They did a great job building it and I think these guys are awesome!

Thank you Cupertino Bike Shop! I have the sweetest ride in Santa Cruz!

This is an awesome bike shop, a great family business, with smart, cool guys that absolutely love bicycles. It's fun to come in, hang out and just watch the ToC or TdF with them!

I've gotten a bit of a cold shoulder from other bike shops, maybe for being a girl, not sure, but Vance and Peter and Matt and all the guys are very friendly with everyone and they carry a great selection of women's clothes, gloves and bikes too. They have quite a few women's Specialized bikes, and also carry Cervelo, Bianchi, Felt, Focus, and Santa Cruz mountain bikes.

Rickey and Juan are amazing mechanics and have both taken the time to make sure my bike is perfect and also help me understand what they're doing to it without talking down to me.

      These guys RULE.
