I went there last night, and I am not going there ever again.
The bartenders are very rude. One of them asked me to stop calling him.
Of course I had call him because he wouldn't come. He told me to put my hand off, and after he finally served me, I did not tip him because of the bar service.
The other bartender (an afro-american one) came form the other side of the bar, and threw me a one dollar bill on my face after he saw that I did not tip his "friend". I did not even know why he did that, and asked him if something was wrong, he started yelling at me asking to go outside and fight. I cooled down and did not pay attention to him...
Can you guys believe that? I thought I was the only one with such a bad experience but after talking to some people, many others told me that the service was horrible.
I dont know you, but I am not going ever again to this bar...Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Mark V.Las Vegas, NV27021528Jul 7, 2015
Went here after a Sox day game. It's five o clock and wanted to have a beer.
Sucks it is a cash bar. Hardly anyone carries cash anymore, so hope you brought some. Beers were okay. They probably tasted better since I had been drinking at the game all day.
Buzz was really harshed when probably an hour after we got in, they told us they were closing up. I didn't know that was a thing that a bar just closed up at six o clock on a Thursday. Apparently, it was because no one was in there and they do this whenever they think no one else is going to come in.
It's probably because everyone complains about this place being crappy that no one else wants to go. Reading the reviews, it seems like everyone had to make an excuse as to why they went there in the first place.
I love dive bars, but only the dive bars that don't close on you mid beer.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Tom G.Brookline, MA6943111Jan 29, 2011
Dirty, can be cramped, crappy draft selection, grumpy bartenders, expensive covers.
No reason to go here, in my opinion. I won't go back.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Ave D.Cambridge, MA324Feb 24, 2013
When my friend and I were told by the bouncer/doorman/whoever he was that our cover would be waived (because our instincts told us not to go in, especially for a cover, and our hesitation was obvious), it could have meant something very good or something very bad. It was the latter.
You put my beer in a plastic solo cup and the price is still outrageous? No.
Hardly any seating? No.
I don't think this stall door shuts...? No.
Cash-only after everything else also sucks? No.
After writing on Facebook that this place was horrendous, a handful of my friends "liked" my status. Seems agreed-upon and I won't be going back.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Suzanne S.Melrose, MA5514Mar 17, 2013
the people that work here are rude and shouldn't be bartenders. Part of being a bartender is interacting with the patrons and having a smile on your face.
Just go some place else. There are 100 other bars you can go to. Pick one and it will be a million times better.
I'm ashamed to admit I have even been here.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mindy L.Boston, MA164781315Feb 28, 2010
Big. Fat. Dive.
Holy crap.
The only saving grace is the back room with the basketball game. I enjoyed watching guys faces fall when the girl in the black dress and pearls plain whooped them (psst: that girl was me).Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Sarah G.Durham, NC1804169712Jul 6, 2010
Another bar pretty much like all of the others in the Fenway area, except that they have live bands play here and their drinks are a little cheaper. Other than that, really there isn't anything unique about this bar at all.
It is one of those standard wooden interior pub style bars, and personally I think a $10 cover to see a show here is a bit on the high side. My friend Dan played with his band here and barely any of the cover went to the band at all, and for a venue like that $10 is just too high. The acoustics need to be a little better than that for the price.
There are multiple stages here though, so if you come here to see a band, they may be playing upstairs or downstairs so beware of that. The drinks are only okay here too, probably because this bar is really just okay. I wouldn't come out of my way to come here, but we did have a good time in the small crowd space in front of the stage upstairs. So A-OK it is!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Katie B.San Diego, CA396208405Sep 19, 2014
Divey is the best way to describe this place. My friend and I went here to kill time and grab some beers before the Sox game. It's not a bad place, don't expect too much and you won't be disappointed.
I wasn't too excited about the fact that the bar is cash only, but for once in my life I actually had cash on me so it was ok. Decent beers on tap and TVs playing sports also made me pretty happy. Maybe try to wait to use the restroom until after you leave though....Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Brian K.Cranston, RI13670Nov 27, 2007
I saw my roommate's band here. They sounded good. Other than that, typical Fenway crowd. Moms and dads and new students. Borrrring.
The drinks are a ripoff. I paid $6 for a rum and coke and it wasn't even strong. The bartender was rude as well. No tip for you.
I'll probably never come here again. It felt too touristy and bland.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0
