If you are travelling to or through this part of Pennsylvania and are looking for a place to spend the night, this Comfort Inn is to be avoided!
I have stayed in less than desirable hotels in many countries on several continents but this Comfort Inn makes questionable establishments in Central America and Africa look good by comparison.
After a long day of travelling and helping a family member move, I was looking forward to a hot bath and a good night's sleep. I checked in to this Comfort Inn and went in to the bathroom. What I found was beyond repulsive and disgusting. (See pic). Feces on the toilet, the previous guest's old soap and shampoo bottle in the shower and several missing towels showed pretty clearly that the bathroom had not been cleaned by housekeeping or checked by their obviously inept "Housekeeping Supervisor".
I went down to the front desk with pics in hand to complain and was told "I don't check the rooms" in a lovely "I could care less" attitude. No apology for the human excrement coating my toilet, no basic level of customer service whatever. The personality deficient front desk clerk did send a maintenance person up to my room to take care of the unacceptable mess. The maintenance guy (Jason) apologized several times and was really professionally first rate. Despite the fact that he cleaned the mess up, I still could not find the courage to use that toilet, shower without wearing socks or sleep in this repulsive room without being fully clothed in the bed. If the housekeeping department of this dump is willing to leave human feces on the toilet...what is in the bed that I am about to sleep in? (Forgive me while I go vomit)...
I contacted the manager who was apologetic and said that "it wouldn't happen again". That's all very nice but how about being proactive instead of reactive?
On the whole, I would advise any traveler to avoid this disgusting dump of a hotel. I must confess that I am not fully aware of what is available in terms of lodging in this area but in terms of this Comfort Inn, it would be better to spend the night sleeping in your car on the side of the road than to risk your health in this absolutely pit of a hotel.
Word to owners, management and Choice Hotels Corporate - you should all be ashamed of yourselves for operating such a dump under your branding.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Sean R.Wasilla, AK0114Sep 23, 2019
Not too bad, not too good.
The beds were super comfortable and very clean- I dismantled one looking for stains or bugs and didn't see anything like that. Good place to rest up.
The bathroom has plenty of towels and toiletries, all replaced daily. The shower is hot and hard, even on the 4th floor.
The staff I encountered were all friendly and seemed to enjoy being there. Nice people.
My room's door had obviously been kicked in at some point and no repairs had occurred. The lock functioned and all but if I could see someone being very nervous with that type of impression.
On the fourth floor where I stayed, I have to mention the odors. Just outside the elevator smelled like wet garbage or spoiled milk or something. Halfway down the hall it smelled like weed really bad. I thought at first it was just a bin that needed emptied and some kid was chiefing out in his room. But over 24 hours later and it's the same odor situation.
My room kinda smelled like pee.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Joshua V.Silver Spring, MD0123Aug 16, 2018
All the negative reviews are definitely warranted this hotel is filthy and customer service is just as repulsive.
Bed linens were used and dirty upon checking in and hair everywhere on the bed.
Recommend sleeping in your car or someone's home on Craigslist.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Ann S.Campbell, CA035Apr 27, 2017
If you are interested like me in maximizing your points, this is part of Choice Hotels.
This is really a 3 star hotel, but the staff make it a 5 star. We visit relatives every other year and always try to get reservations here. It is popular so book ahead. One year we had a family reunion at the hotel and the staff was helpful with the setup.
On this visit Diane (desk clerk) was a standout with her warm personality and her advice. Isaiah provided a well displayed breakfast along with his warm personality. We have spent the month traveling on the east coast and it is refreshing to be recognized as a person and not just another body that must be processedHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Michael K.Richmond Hill, NY107869Nov 13, 2017
Loved my stay here! We decided to stay here to go to the outlets the next day and we were not disappointed at all. The location is about a 10 minute drive from Philadelphia Premium Outlets which was helpful to us.
Okay, now back to my stay here! Check in and check out was a breeze. The hotel provides free continental breakfast which is typical. Nothing too extravagant which is to be expected. The breakfast consisted of make your own waffles or pancakes, tater tots, sausage, bagels, cereal, oatmeal, yogurt and eggs. The eggs looked fake and lacked taste. My favorite was making my own pancakes which I made blueberry ones. Of course, juice, coffee and, tea are available.
We had one incident where our tub got clogged. Within 5 minutes someone was up in our room fixing the issue. It took him about 2 minutes to solve the issue.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Not many choices in Pottstown. This hotel is ok. It is functional and serves its purpose.
Clean and large, and the staff is really friendly and helpful.
Breakfast is quite decent with an automatic oatmeal machine, waffle irons, and of course the cereal, toast and beverage options.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Gerry S.Westminster, MD320Feb 1, 2018
Very nice comfort inn, the breakfast was on point. The staff was friendly and helpful. Housekeeping was excellent, realizing we were a night shift crew and all had do not disturb signs up and left us clean towels and tp outside our doors without asking.

On the plus side, the room was clean, the bed was nice and the pillows were great, I had to take major exception with the housekeeping.
My co worker and I left some pocket change in the room. The housekeeper left us an annoyed note stating that we shouldn't do that unless we are tipping them. They also put his dirty laundry on the bed and claimed the bed couldn't be made since it was there.
The next day they gathered up the pocket change and put it in another spot in the room.
We were done with that place after that.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Violent 1.Vanderbilt, PA011Aug 14, 2017
This place is UNFREAKIN BELIEVABLY DIRTY! I have stayed in 3rd. World countries that are cleaner & smell better than this place. Small pieces of glass on the floor in the room. Mold on the under side of fixtures in bathroom. Stains on the pillowcase & lien. DUST EVERYWHERE. The room reeked of some type of concentrated oil...very unpleasant. I had to go out and buy disinfectant spray & wipes to re clean! The ladies up front were totally professional & pleasant to deal with.

This is my second stay here and this time was a bit of a disaster. Overall the rooms are decent with comfy beds and clean rooms. There is a TV with an hdmi port for my chromecast and decently fast Internet. Breakfast is free and there is an assortment of tea, coffee, cereal, pastries, and a waffle maker. It also includes egg paddies and sausages, but these look right out of a frozen package (gross).
This trip there was a fire alarm th at went off forcing my father (who has a bad hip) to use the stairs to get to the third floor. For some reason turning this off took over three hours causing him use the stairs multiple times.
Then during the night the power went out for over two hours and the TV antenna never came back on. When I called the front desk I got the typical "there is nothing we can do". This was made all the more ironic considering the lighting coming off the giant smoke stacks from the nuclear power plant was shining into my window.
I was also rather dissatisfied with the lack of water pressure. You can always tell it's back when the water arcs coming out of the shower head. I understand the need to conserve water but this was ridiculous.
All these problems made a stay at an already mediocre hotel rather annoying. Unfortunately this is probably the best hotel in Pottstown. At least there is a complimentary copy of USA today, that was a nice touch.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0
