It's like a theater for grown folks.

Love it!  Cozy, comfy feel of a theater with a meal.  I did not have any food, but there are other reviews for that.

I love the outdoor bar and seating; I think it would be perfect on a gorgeous night.  The landscaping is quite nice, and there are outside heaters for the chill.

Mmmmmm. . .can not wait to go again!

Quick stop Chinese.  It's nice, reasonable, and solid place to drop by if you're in a bind.  The food is simple and tasty, not overdone.  I especially like the vegetables because it's not covered with a lot of  . . . saucy stuff.

Simple, fresh. good.

At first I thought this place was a poshed up Waffle House--a place to get similar foods without feeling as if you need to immediately self disinfect upon exiting.   However my first visit proved Waffle Shop is in a totally different stratosphere than WH.

I opted for a Greek omelet with potatoes.  Oh wow, was it delicious!  I would love some right now, in fact.  Richly flavored, hot, very seasoned potatoes, almost to the point of being too salty, was so delicious.

My Greek omelet was hot with fresh spinach, tomatoes, and feta cheese.  And my toast--wheat, without even asking.

With so much disappointment with Orlando area restaurants, I'm thrilled to announce that I have found a wonderful breakfast spot!

First Class Dry Cleaners - CLOSED

Not that I have actually used this cleaners. . .I only wanted to have a dress hem taken up 2 inches and have a hook replaced on some pants.  After being read a scripted questionnaire about why I decided to visit (by a very less than enthusiastic employee I might add), I decided to leave.

She wanted to charge me $25 to take up a hem. . .seriously, the dress did not even cost that much. . .

Quickly made my escape over to Lee's Alterations. . .

Mmmmmmm. . .thank you !

Definitely my new favorite spot.  Cozy, intimate, trendy place that plays live jazz music. . .my favorite. . .

Serving sandwiches, soup, salads, cheese, fruit, wine. . .Press 101 speaks my language!  I enjoyed a serving of caprese salad but had to take most of it home because the serving was so huge.

I would only recommend the live music be lowered to facilitate personal conversations. Cannot WAIT to go back!!

Exactly what I expected--overpriced, just *okay* food that makes you scratch your head and ask, "I just paid what for what?"

Menu consists of typical American fare:  chicken fingers, sandwiches, some soups and there was a marathon pasta special the day I visited.

Ok so I ordered from the kiddie menu because, well, I wanted the grill cheese sandwich.  It was small and squished, just meh. However, the grapes were quite delicious and the meal came with a juice or milk, and a side of applesauce that has yet to be eaten.

If I should need to visit the sports complex again, I'll either pack a lunch or grab a bite before I go.

Bikram Yoga West Orlando

Such weirdness.  Me and bikram have the quintessential love hate relationship.  I decided to try this place, thanks to Celeste, and thought it was a no brainer to go for the $20 week special for new people.

Here's the thing.  The room is hot.  Like 104 degrees, and the class is 90 minutes.  There are postures that are repeated twice, in the same order for each and every class.  There is no music, and as the instructors will tell you, most of the poses are "supposed to hurt."

So after 90 minutes of sweating, dripping, struggling to breathe yoga moves, I decide to go back for more the next day!!  And while reaching halfway towards the end of class, a question pops in my mind, "Why am I doing this?"

And I asked myself this very same question repeatedly during the classes I attended this week, and still came back for more. It's  not something I enjoy really.  However, I feel so energized and alive, just tingling with energy by the end of class that, yep, I plan on going back.

The instructors are phenomenal!  Joe and Will both notice what you're doing even if you think they are not paying attention, and give you specific directions on how to have proper form.

So, you'll want to bring your yoga mat, a beach towel, and lots of water with you.  Lockers and cubby holes are available for your belongings.  I think everyone should try it once at least.

And then you'll develop your very own love hate relationship and keep coming back too!!

Seasons 52

 Update - 12/27/2009
I'm not super impressed with Orlando restaurants--it all seems to be average (at best) for more bucks.  However, Seasons 52 is an exception.  I love the sophisticated feel, the dim lights, and of seasonal theme.

Because I am a vegetarian I usually just order the seasonal vegetables which are mainly roasted and just brilliant!  One leaves with a great appreciation of vegetables after and just how wonderful they can be all by themselves when eating here!

If you order edamame, you will have to shell them yourselves. Just so you know.  Make sure to make reservations as it may be difficult to get a seat, take, your time, smile, and enjoy. . .

this is what eating should be!!

Simply put, this is the way food should be.  Love the trendy, campy feel of the place as well.  I ordered seasonal grilled vegetables with tofu and taboulleh--all of it wonderful and surprisingly filing.

The service was just OK, but enjoyed the live piano music with vocals on the speaker system.

I enjoyed my visit, the food was nicely done, and plan to return sometime soon.

It seemed so magical as a child!  As an adult it's lost some magic but the classic rides are still great.  Space mountain, the teacups, and my favorite, it's a small world after all--it seems like heaven to me!

Pack a lunch and water bottle, wear comfy shoes, and expect to spend a lot of money. . .naturally.

I think what amazed me the most on this visit was all the little girls made up as princesses with their hair colored, braided and what not. . .so cute!

The huge turkey legs were a shocker to me!!  Reminded me of the Flintstones people walking around chewing and gnawing on them like cavemen. . .

whew. . . ride the monorail over, it's quicker than the ferry.  Have fun!!

Gargi's Lakeside

You'll want to dress nice when you go. . .  Sadly, I was dressed for an ugly Christmas sweater party when I arrived.   In route to the restaurant,  we got the text message, "It's a really nice place, so leave your ugly sweater in the car."

Too late.

You know what, I could come here, not eat a thing, and be perfectly content.  Charming.  Intimate.  Cozy.   Romantic.  I love it!

The dim lights, the crown molding, artwork,  inside columns and candle lights makes for the perfect romantic evening meal.  Not to mention the beautiful lakeside view. ..

Oh, I love this place!!!

I only ordered a soup.  They were, unfortunately, out of minestrone, so I opted for a white bean soup with pasta.  It was ok, but what was more nourishing to me was the comforting ambiance.  This is definitely a place I want to visit again with my boyfriend. . .

my boyfriend that I do not yet have.  Yet one more thing to add to my new year's resolution list... get a super romantic, fabulous boyfriend to take me to Gargi's Lakeside. . .

I'm in love with 2010 already!!
