Just a warning that their "medium" is massive and the "Cole Turkey" has way more stuff in it than anything you'll ever see at the local Subway.
Made to order fresh, wrapped up and ready to go.
Yes, it's a little more expensive (okay, a LOT more expensive) than other sub shops, but there is a feeling that you're getting much more in terms of value and quantity than the others. I would return here again for lunch!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Paul G.FL, FL0672Jun 22, 2016
It pains me to write this review because I LOVE Capriotti's. I often go to the location in Washington, DC (Georgetown Area) and I have been to the one in Newark, DE more times than I can count. I always get the same thing ... THE BOBBY.
This location was posted to be open until 5:30 pm. I arrived at 5:12 pm and the doors were shut, the lights were off, there was a worker sitting at a window table with what appeared to be a laptop or tablet type device. There were two of us that were trying to get in at that time (we were not together) and the man at the table didn't acknowledge us, but got up from the table and went into the back so he couldn't be seen. There was no sign on the door indicating some extenuating circumstances for an early closure and no attempt by the employee to apologize. It's a shame when a customer cannot count on a location to stay open for their posted hours.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jun 26, 2012
Even though I've worked downtown forever, I've not tried Capriotti's until this week (despite it being one block away from the office). I'm trying to get out of my lunch rut and try new things and co-workers seem to like it, so I thought "why not?"
The Pros:
*Real turkey - not loaf turkey. I really like that
*Friendly staff. There only seemed to be a few guys working when I stopped so it might get hectic when busy
*Big ass sandwich - the "small" is 9" - what?!?
*Overall, my sandwich "the Bobbie" was pretty good
The Cons:
*Nowhere to park. Honestly, I don't know why you'd ever go here if you didn't live or work within walking distance
*Expensive - $9 or so for a sandwich is craaaazy
*Big ass sandwiches. I don't need or want 9" of sandwich at lunch
*Bread is kind of mushy and soft
Overall, it was a decent sandwich - definitely better than Subway. But, it's too much food and too expensive for me so I wouldn't rush back.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Mandy C.Chicago, IL398527549Apr 28, 2016
Turkey. Cranberry. Stuffing. Wait, that's a sandwich?! The Bobbie. No need to try anything else, unless you don't like Thanksgiving in a sandwich.
I have heard the service is unfriendly and slow. I hardly noticed. It's a sandwich shop located in the busiest part of downtown. Yes, I'll wait 10-15 minutes for my sandwich. And, if I have to wait even 25 minutes, I'll do it. It happens. If you want fresh food, it takes longer to prepare. If you are late for work, you should have gone to Subway. Give them a break.
Hint: Do not order the cold subs and do not get delivery. Both are horrible. Also, do not walk in a quarter to close- just common courtesy.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jason B.Milwaukee, WI6437349Feb 20, 2015
Working in an office downtown, we tend to order in a lot. This happens even more in the cold winter months. We thought we had exhausted all of our options for sub delivery, and then I saw this and wanted to give it a try. I failed, miserably, and I failed for the people in my office.
I looked at their website and they have a handy, online ordering system. Well, for most places. Apparently that doesn't exist in Milwaukee. So, I waited until the store opened and tried calling. My first call rang about 20 times then went to a fax machine. I checked the number off the website, and called again a couple minutes later and it rang 20 times again, only to be answered by someone who sounded like it was their first day. I ordered the 4 subs, and asked how long it would take and she told me that her manager wasn't in yet, so she couldn't tell me how long it was going to take, she would call me back when they are on their way.
So, we waited....and waited....and waited......and waited. 45 minutes after the order was placed, she called to let me know that the delivery was expected to be here in 45 more minutes. An hour and a half for 4 subs? What the ever loving hell? Well, it gets worse. The 45 minutes came and went....and nothing. 20 minutes later, nearly TWO HOURS after my original call, the subs show up.
My cold sub? It was ok. I love the fact that they actually cook turkeys, and use real turkey meat instead of some processed crap from a bag....so I'll give them credit for that. My 3 co-workers had "hot subs" though, and they were luke warm at best. None of them were happy with the quality or the price, and it was all my fault.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Tony V.Milwaukee, WI99Feb 13, 2015
There's last straws and then there's final straws. I've been giving this place chance after chance, thinking that next time would be better but after today I'm done. Where else in Milwaukee or any other city for that matter are there 6 people making sandwiches for 3 people and it takes 25 minutes to get your order?
Unacceptable. It doesn't matter what time of day it is either. Sure sure / lunch rush might take a little longer at most places WHEN THERE'S A LINE. But I've waited longer than 25 minutes when it wasn't even close to the lunch rush. People looking confused in the back. Conversations about being out of bread or out of tomatoes - none of this affecting my order. Silly. Terrible service. I hope this place goes away soon.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Amanda M.Escondido, CA6078109Apr 3, 2017

Ran out on my lunch break to get a sandwich, couldn't have picked a worse sandwich shop.
The menu is nothing impressive, standard sandwiches.
Strike one:
Staff could care less about you being a customer or what you want. They had only one sandwich maker making sandwiches during downtown lunch rush hour, took 15 minutes to get a cold sub. I was forced to take it to go because of how much time I wasted standing around.
Strike two:
Chips or drink are not included with your order and a normal turkey sub cost me over $9 with no additional toppings or extras added.
Strike three:
When I finally got back to my office and unwrapped my sandwich, I had ingredients that I specifically requested I didn't want and ingredients that I did want, not on my order. Again, a clear sign of a staff who doesn't give a s***.
Strike 4:
The bread was stale and their fancy "homemade turkey" was dry and completely flavorless. You literally could walk into a gas station, buy a pre made cold sub sandwich, save $5-$6 on your food and be more happy with the sandwich from the gas station than the sandwich from Capriotti's.
Complete waste of time & money. I recommend you go up a few blocks and get a sandwich from Waterfront Deli.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jc H.Key West, FL33112357Jun 24, 2014
Pretty annoyed. Ordered a homemade turkey sub (12") and asked for everything on it. Apparently, I should have listed every item I wanted because I got about half of everything on it.
Lettuce, a few pieces of onion, four slices of tomato stretched across the top, cheese, and a good amount of meat. There was a little seasoning and a dribble of olive oil, from what I could tell.
Granted, the sub was a substantial size, which is why they get two stars instead of one, but the sub had very little flavor and was pretty dry. I didn't find out the ingredients were missing until I got home. I had to throw the insides of the sub into a bowl, add some pickles, onions, horseradish sauce, and balsamic to salvage it. Waste of time and money. This was my first and last time going to this place.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Jenni S.Milwaukee, WI6419077Jan 12, 2014
Mmmmm, these sammiches are SO good!
Warning: they're gigantic. A "medium" is at least 2 meals worth for most people! No joke, you get a lot for your money.
My favorite is the Chicken Cheese Steak & I like to add marinara sauce to it sometimes to mix it up a bit. SO good. So, so good.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0
