While the place ain't bad, there isn't much to talk about, they have burgers... decent burgers.
A good product at the price of a great product. Nothing spectacular.
Rather plain fries, Horrible coleslaw, okay service.
I'll be back to try it again.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Feb 16, 2016
Popped in for a quick lunch on a rainy Tuesday. Place was virtually empty at 12:30 PM. Not a good sign. Establishment is called Burger shack, so I ordered their signature Shack Cheeseburger medium rare. All burgers come on toasted English muffin or burger bun. My muffin was toasted to the perfect level of crispness. My burger arrived medium, not medium rare, no hint of juiciness at all, in fact it was a little flat. There was no signature sauce, and no taste of any seasoning at all. Burger came with side of fries that were good not great. Was hankering for something else, maybe a nice cole slaw on the side. I don't know if I would go back. Probably worth a shot at Happy Hour..

This place is a lot of fun and the burgers are pretty good. The folks who seated and served us were very, very nice and helpful. No sign of impatience when we were not ready to order, our waitress just kept checking in on us, refilling drinks and keeping us happy.
The burgers are big, cooked close to order and the fries are great. We've been here a couple of times and have always left happy.
We'll stop again. Maybe we'll try something other than a burger one of these times...Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Marta-Marie L.Mastic Beach, NY1910May 26, 2017
Place very dated. The "usual crowd" sat at the bar being serenaded by an out of tune bartender.
The burger of the day, Philly cheese steak!
My husband sent back the pork belly salad, I ate some of my cheeseburger as it was tasteless and our grandson's Santa Fe burger tasted like boiled ground beef.
Not worth the money they charge at all. Will not return.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Michael G.West Sayville, NY773280May 16, 2017
Went here and ordered the Cubano (Cuban sandwich) and an order of fried pickles. The cubano was less than average. It was on a small white roll served with a rather small side of fries. For the price it was definitely not worth it. The pickles were alright. They are more of pickle spears breaded and fried. Has a nice crunch an mild flavor. Overall won't likely be going back.

Ok, so we gave blue goose a try. It's actually pretty good. They changed the decor but it was a good meal.

Advise to substitute a roll for the English muffin. UPDATE: Been back a couple of times already (June '15). Enjoyed the burger on an english muffin too!
UPDATE 9/27/18.
Sad to report the Burger Shack is no more. It's now the Blue Goose, a faux hipster "gastro pub." From the pics I'v seen so far it looks cold and uninviting. - May 16, 2016
Burger Shack had a very Laid back theme when you walk in. It is very well set up with a nice size bar by the entrance. We were seated by our waitress, Renee, who by the way was amazing! The tables are set up country style and it works well with the bamboo walls and surfer theme to make you feel like your on the West Coast. I can't stress it enough how great Renee was! She joked around as well as took some joke I had thrown at her. She also explained they have a 2nd floor for large parties that you can reserve, which is great for birthday parties. I would come back here again because of her alone, not the meatloaf. We started with a appetizer of pigs in a blanket that were great! I really liked them a lot. I got the meatloaf with mac & cheese that I'm sorry to report was not good at all. The meat didn't seem like it was made in house and they covered it in gravy (I hate gravy). The mac & cheese was to watery for me. The veggies were ok but I came for meat and was sad. The burger and fries I'm happy to report are great! It's a good idea to come for burgers here and not the dinner meals. I will visit again in the future, but only for burgers and wings. I had one bad meal, that's it. The atmosphere is good as well as the staff. I can let my bad meal experience slide (this one time) but not twice. They also have great promotions if you like to drink just ask about them when you go in.

Well Marta-Marie has a ridiculous review. THIS BURGER SHACK IS FREAKIN AWESOME!! If you listen to the opinion of the elderly women here they will surely give you the wrong opinion.
Eat some meat and fries here boys and gents. It'll put hair on your chest. 10/10 will always recommendHelpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Aug 18, 2013
Burgers! (And more)
We were doing the domestic thing and needed refueling so me and the girlie popped into burger shack for some lunch and to take a break.
Great place on Montauk Highway with a decent bar area to the right as you walk in and additional dining and dining room to the left.
We settled in and scored some nachos and burgers and chowed down.
Burger selection is outstanding and if that isn't your thing, there were plenty of other options to begin your feeding frenzy with. LArge selection of apps as well as salads and other stuff to keep you munching.
Place is decorated in a beachie - summer-ie motif and totally fits the area it sits in,
Very good prices for the large portions - we couldn't finish both of our meals - so we waddled back out to finish our day.
Definitely a must try if you are in this area.
Parking on the street and along the side (I think)Helpful 6Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - Andrew G.Patchogue, NY02Nov 10, 2017
Went here for lunch. The burger itself was decent but not amazing. I wasn't crazy about their burgers being on English Muffins instead of buns. Their ranch and BBQ sauce for dipping tasted horrible and fountain coke didn't taste right. I thought the toppings choices were lacking and the prices a little high for what you were getting. Ended up with a $17 check for a burger, fries, and a Coke.
The place lacked a little class overall. I probably will not go again.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
