There are a few members of the Cassis family scattered around the area and they are all pretty consistent in terms of service and food. This location is no exception.
The interior is set up nicely with room to spread out- the tables aren't all jammed in there. Decor is perfect- just enough pseudo Euro looking decor to give you the illusion you are elsewhere for a while.
The menu is pretty much the same at all locations - but the food is definitely good. I had a rack of lamb that was cooked exactly the way I asked . Steak au poiver was not only a good size piece of meat, but perfectly cooked as well.
The wine selection is decent with a little something for every price range.
There is live music on Thursdays in the bar area - but there wasn't a seat to be had there until later in the evening.
Parking on the street.
That is their motto and from the look of the menu items, they definitely have a lot of Italian specialties.
Formerly the site of Helene's, this diner has only been open a few weeks. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner and so far, so good.
Prices are pretty decent particularly when compared to other diners in the area.
The decor is nautical with a side order of nautical. Yup- big fake sharks and game fish adorn the walls and what isn't covered in plastic fish is home to nautically themed wall art. A little surprising is that the menu does not reflect all that nauticalness - unless they do a lot of seafood specials off the menu.
Secret double bonus: They deliver!
Parking is on the street and can be a chore during the day.
This is a great little online dealer of anything related to satellite radio gear. Radios, accessories and even clothing if you are totally obsessed with either XM or Sirius, they seemingly have it all.
Decent prices and super fast shipping- plus you can buy directly through them or other outlets online such as Amazon.
Merchandise arrives as advertised and actually works- unlike some other places I've tried!
Approved by me.
Ok- before you groan and send me nasty messages, that is their slogan - I didn't try to be witty...
This is a somewhat fast growing chain of Latin fried / grilled chicken places and they are actually pretty good at what they do.
The chicken is fried perfectly (I haven't tried the grilled yet) and has a really interesting citrus flavor with every bite. It is very addicting.
They have a variety of Latin-esque sides and deserts such as red beans, black beans and rice, sweet plantains, Dulce De leche and flan. There are other more traditional sides to appeal to the gringo customers such as the de rigueur mashed potatoes and gravy and coleslaw.
There are a variety of meals to choose from and all seem to be a decent value for the money. This location just opened so there are coupons all over the neighborhood to entice you to get in there.
I have taken my stuff to go but today I sat there and frankly, they can do much better with cleaning the place- the tables all looked like they needed a good cleaning and considering this is a rather new place, it should be spotless. The location could also use some decorating- it is very sterile looking - along the lines of a cafeteria.
All in all- very good and I'd go again.
Parking lot in front.
7-11 is really a great concept when you think of it- coffee / milk / soda / beer all in a flash. Sure, they've tried to upscale it a bit with "cafe" selections and sandwiches and so on but to me, it will always be a great coffee / beer run type of place.
The location is fine and everything you expect from a 7-11 establishment. Parking is usually harried due to the corner location - especially during the rush morning or evening hours- getting back out onto the turnpike can be a chore if you are not somewhat aggressive.
Prices are average.
When I'm not out at restaurants or watering holes, I'm actually doing something during the daylight hours to earn cash. A lot of my daily time is occupied by importing / exporting goods and to that end a great freight forwarder is essential.
I have been using this group of forwarders for a few years now and they are just fantastic. If any of you have ever had to import anything, you'll know that the paperwork can be daunting - U.S.Customs, master way bills, house way bills, container numbers, dutiable goods, duty drawback and so on and so forth.
Forwarders in the NY / NJ area are, literally, a dime a dozen. Separating the wheat from the chaff can be not only time consuming but a bad forwarder will get you in deep doo-doo with Customs in the form of fines and bond revocations.
Lamprecht is just awesome from start to finish - never a hassle from Customs, paperwork is always done correctly and they are fast and friendly on the phone.
Highly recommended.

Had a nice time - way better I think than the huge events - i was actually able to talk to people and remember names etc.
Great location- haven't been there in years.
Great job Cara and Lisa!
This place is interesting as it exists as a storefront on http://Amazon.com and possibly eBay.
Their prices are amazingly low - and for good reason. They are selling used junk.
I purchased a cassette adapter from them - a brand name item and it showed up jiffy quick. I plugged in into the iPod and the car player and - nothing. Usually these devices have a wheel that gets stuck so I took it home to look at it after dinner. After opening it up, I see that there is nothing inside *except* the wheel that turns when you put it in the cassette player.
The wire was attached to nothing- there was no mini-circuit board in there and the pickup device that transmits sound from the head to the cassette player was not soldered to anything either!
I picked up their invoice and in big letters it reads "Package opened for inspection and test - all works perfectly." How they managed to get it working is beyond me since there are NO INTERNAL PARTS.
Various attempts at contact have resulted in nothing.
So- AVOID is all I can tell you if you happen to hit them online.

Polish-American Market & Deli
Category: Delis
Oh man, the only bad thing about this place is that they run out of those stuffed cabbages.
The place is going strong and almost anything else I've ordered from there is damn good- some amazing beet salad is always available.
Friendly people there make lunch that much better.

Neighborhood Polish Market & deli.
Ever have a craving for something and just had to have it? This was the case with me and stuffed cabbages. I just wanted stuffed cabbage and didn't want to be bothered making a disaster in my kitchen just to satisfy the urge.
I know this Deli was here and the recently starting serving hot foods - so I had the ways and means to satisfy the Golabki urge.
The place is a good size market of sorts- they have all sorts of packaged food stuffs - and all of it is from Poland apparently. The guy behind the counter was super helpful and as he was preparing my to-go order I looked at all the yummy offerings.
They have a full deli section with all sorts of kielbasa, deli meats, hot dishes etc. I snagged a menu to take back to work with me.
They do not deliver and parking kind of sucks, but it is worth the trip.

I'm a fan of Pyrex / Corningware and the like. I think they just are great products no mater how you use them.
My original intent on hitting this place was to find something to roast a chicken in. That was the intent, the execution was somewhat different.
I popped in during lunch and much to my surprise the place was empty- fine with me. They have, as their name states, everything in the world of Corningware but also Pyrex (which is probably part of that company - who knows?) In any case, I found the chicken roaster thing I needed and then started browsing - which is always a bad move on my part.
Since I'm trying to get away from plastic containers overall, when I spied the Pyrex set on sale - well, that went into the pile of goods at the register too.
Also available are dishes and all sorts of kitchen gadgets. There really was too much for me to do and see in the short time I had so I took what I could carry and went back to work.
Pleasant sales guy is overly helpful too BTW.
Parking lot in front.
