The older lady there is very helpful. I purchased a dog water bottle since i lost mine at the beach over the weekend. There were cute t-shirts at the cashier and it's the right place to put them since I bought one of them!

A great neighborhood pet store, Animal Connection II in the Marina/Cow Hollow area is worth checking out if you're local.
Even though I live across town, I spend quite a bit of time in this area now, so I'll definitely stop in for our cat's next round of food! The prices are very reasonable and in most cases, cheaper than at any big name store.
There are mostly cat and dog supplies [a large selection of dog clothing!] and an entire back room of food + litter. On top of that, Susan has great stories to share, and she can probably give you the background on any item they have in stock.Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - Bryan B.Brooklyn, NY490396453Dec 22, 2007
This is such a great local pet store. Bentley was so excited that the owner let us in just after 5pm this evening (they close at 5pm on Saturdays). The service is amazing and the owner is very generous with the treats for your pet.
All of the produce here is top notch and I can imagine B dog thinking to himself "if only I could somehow be left alone in this store" :)
I love having such a great pet store within walking distance of my place.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Steven F.Marianna, FL13425075Jun 10, 2011
At last! Since arriving in San Francisco, we had not found any pet stores for dogs that impressed us until we went into this one. It is small, but packed with a wide variety of inventory and has great prices and friendly service!
Most of the "doggy boudoir shops" try entirely too hard to impress with superlative items and are extremely too high in prices, but not this one! The prices are very fair and competitive, You are not likely to find cheaper prices anywhere else, including the Internet.
And the best thing that this little ole service dog likes about this store: It is for dogs only, no cats, no fish or other smelly little varmints--just us dogs! And they have an excellent selection of toys, including some of my very favorites!
And that makes it tops in my book!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jay D.Vancouver Island, Canada359553158Jul 21, 2007
Great little pet store with a great selection of treats, toys, food, bedding, you name it. Doesn't carry all the "foofy" overpriced items - much more practical than I expected. The lady running the store was very friendly too, made pleasant small talk and all that. Ended up leaving with some cat grass, treats, and a toy for our spoiled cat.

5 stars for the store itself. It had just about everything I would need for a new dog, in terms of collar, harness, leash, toys, food, etc. But, on the day I was in, the person working behind the counter was extremely unhelpful. Yes, he did point me in the direction of the treats pouches, but he seemed to do so begrudgingly. And when I was struggling to put the harness I had just bought on my little girl, he either just stood there and stared at me or chose to walk away. Thanks so much for your help! Yeah, I could tell he was a bit sick, but I'm sorry, I've been at work when I've been sick (probably not the greatest idea), and I didn't let it affect my interactions with others.
The owner should look into how her employees perform so that they don't ruin the good name of this place.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Isaac L.San Jose, CA49248084Mar 2, 2010
For cats and dogs - you're all set.
For fish, you're out of luck. No frozen nor live feed(ers).Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Shelley K.San Francisco, CA138418119Jun 26, 2016
The sweetest owner will be more than happy to help you out, share stories, and make great conversation. This shop has a great selection of both dog and cat supplies - toys, treats, accessories, the whole shebang

Great neigbourhood store and friendly service. We visited two pet supply stores after adopting our new dog (the other in Hayes Valley which was a little larger).
If you bring your new doggy adoption papers, Susan will give you a 20% discount. This is a GREAT help when you want to get a lot of stuff!
Susan is really nice, she was a little busy when we went in so I don't think we got the same level of customer service as at the other (not affiliated) store, but she was helpful and we'll definately be back.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Emily F.San Francisco, CA621Jun 19, 2011
I buy my little buddy the "fancy" dog food, and I was so pleased to find a pet store in walking distance that carried Innova and wasn't one of those high-priced frou frou pet salons. The guy that works there seems a little disinterested, like he doesn't want to be there (-1 star), but the lady that works there is awesome and always gives Duke an extra treat when he accompanies me.
For a little store they have a huge selection of just about everything, but because they have about everything it's a little dingy and cramped. Don't bring your big dog in unless you want it's tail whacking down all the merchandise from the shelves.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
