Welcome to the neighborhood.

Delicious coffee within walking distance. Love it, but hopefully it doesn't become a habit!

Dog-friendly too. :)

Yelp's Holiday Hangover 2.0 @ Big Daddy's

Such a cool space for post-holiday celebrations! We went on night number two and dressed up in our Mad Men themed attire.

I started out with a Butt King Taco from Le Truc while waiting in line for a massage with Suchada. Mmm, butt taco. Dobb's Ferry's meatball sandwich on a Hawaiian roll was fantastic and also at the other end of the venue. Getting from one end to the other involved weaving around some antiques, so I didn't do that very often. Luckily, the photo booth was right next to the Dobb's Ferry table, and I got in a few shots. LOVED the way the photos turned out.

Dabbled in some Mission Mini cupcakes, Barbary Brix Caramels and rice pudding [who was that?] to satiate the sweet tooth at the end.

Called it a night after a handful of drinks from Skyy Vodka prepared by Rye on the Road. I might have tried all but the Old Fashioned. Those Blue Hawaiians were coconut goodness. Strong, yet delicious.

Thanks for the great party, Yelp. A blast as always.

A muddy escape from the city right in the middle of it all.

Don't bother wearing clean clothes. The dog loves it here. After playing in the mud, she always manages to jump up and leave dirty paw prints on our clothing.

Our dog loves it here. Her tail starts wagging, and she whines in excitement every time I bring her to High Tail. I can tell the staff at High Tail love her too.

We recently attended their holiday party, and you could tell that they care about every single dog that walks through their doors. Your pup isn't just a number!

Basically, we bring our dog to High Tail, so she can play all day in a safe, eco-friendly environment. At the end of the day, she's pooped and ready to crash.

Prices went up on bath/nails, but the shiny coat she comes with is worth it.

I bought a Daily Candy deal awhile back and decided to use it for a holiday party. I arrived about twenty minutes after my appointment time due to traffic. They have a 15-minute no-show policy, but thankfully they let me have my appointment. *phew* It's a pretty simple menu, and you can always talk to your stylist about what you're thinking of.

Loved the way my hair turned out! :)

It would be helpful if the voice recording that the phone number gives you would tell you to just leave a message and it would be sent to the salon. It goes to their headquarters, and I wasn't sure if they would get my message about being late.

Thought the tipping guide was useful, but yeah, like others have suggested, it's nice at the register. No need for one at every station. Show owner comment »

I didn't even realize this was here prior to the event, but this part of the Mission is slowly making a name for itself. Another Monkey was a great spot to host a little wine tasting [Cahill] and food sampling get-together.

Loved being able to catch up with old faces and meet a few new ones while sipping and snacking!

Thanks to Jessica, Ruggy, Another Monkey, and Cahill!

Ask for more bread AFTER you've finished your meal. You'll want to sop up the sauce from your pasta plates!

My favorite of the evening - lamb raviolini w/ roasted cipollini & nettles. SO GOOD. Thankfully there was bread, or I think our dining companion might have picked up the plate for a licking.

The boyfriend's pick - farfalle with braised duck, currants & dino kale. Extremely flavorful, and there's no skimping on the duck.

We also ordered one other pasta and a pizza, but they weren't as good. Good, but these other two stood out. It was the right amount of food for three!

Yelp's Occupy Awesomeness Elite Event @ Level III

Always fun to explore new venues in the city. I could see myself coming back to Level III because hotel bar/restaurants do not make it on my calendar very often.

Looks to be a great space, though not well-utilized for the event. Logistically, not a fan as I don't like standing in one continuous wrap-around line only to pass by empty platters. However, anything we did sample was good.

We tried the following: Truffle Mac 'n Cheese, Chorizo Mac 'n Cheese, Pulled Pork Slider, Ice Cream Sandwich, and the Cabin Fever [Wild Turkey bourbon + apple cider].

Keep on playing, piano [I mean, keyboard] man!

Serious Biscuit

I'm an English muffin kind of a gal, but who knew that biscuits could be soooo delicious?! Well, topped with the finest ingredients, and you have a delectable breakfast. We ordered the following:

Fried green tomato, bacon, remoulade, egg [I don't even like mustard!]

Muffaletta: salami, workshop ham, olive tapenade, pimento puree, aged provolone

Flaky, flavorful, fresh. It's a quick fix when you're a little early for Serious Pie [they share a space], and the stomach is grumbling.

PS  - Free wifi!
