    • Tacos

      Midtown East, New York

      Mar 13, 2024

This place is for real! A few highlights:
Mexican Coca-Cola is something else... might be "spicier" than its American counterpart.
I believe I saw bottled Sangria along with the Jamaica and the Horchata as other beverage options.
The service is pretty quick, kind of a well-oiled machine despite the long line on a Friday afternoon.
I had three adobado tacos and they were delicious. I chose the corn tortillas and I swear they make them in house because I still smelled the corn on my hands long after the tacos went in my belly!

I highly recommend this spot and will be back for the carne asada tacos! ¡Viva Mexico!

Great spot for ice cream, but done in a unique way:

      1. You choose a cup or milk shake or cookie sundae. They have three flavors: strawberry, chocolate and vanilla as your base.
      2. Choose your cereal to infuse. Some examples include Lucky Charms, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Cap'n Crunch, Reese's Puff, Cookie Crisps, Honey Nut Cheerios, Cocoa Puffs, the list goes on and on and I believe it varies.
      3. Choose that topping, for example, I chose Teddy Grahams because I'm old school.
      4. Choose a syrup if you'd like. I think I saw caramel and raspberry but I chose chocolate this time.

The service is friendly and inviting, the ambiance is pretty chill but it is reminiscent of a typical new establishment. They have bottled drinks in case you need to wash the ice cream down with something. Plus, they're year round with the ice cream, so there are no qualms about whether or not they're seasonal.

Also, they have these loaded and stuffed cookies for sale. They look big and I took home several. They have chocolate walnut, apple oatmeal, oatmeal raisin, Oreo cheesecake, marshmallow Rice Krispies, smore cookies, a Cookie Monster cookie, red velvet and more. I recommend trying out those cookies as well.

Overall, I highly recommend Milk n Cookies as a change of pace ice cream spot if you want some nostalgia infused in your dessert, or have a hankering for a large cookie or two!

Milk N Cookies is here in Westwood!

Momosan! One of Iron Chef MoriiMOTO's creations! (Yes, I wrote it how I say it!)

Here's the thing - this is real ramen - not the stuff from those deli restaurants all over NYC that taste the same or taste bland. This is the one! I've had all or most of their ramen dishes based on my mood. They're all delicious and kind of distinct from one another.

Another positive is their restaurant themselves - I have only been here to pick up lunch but it's definitely good enough to go eat that ramen by the window or by the bar with a friend or loved one, and have yourself some Saki or Sapporo to go along with that ramen. Someday I will eat inside because the ambiance seems great!

So a couple of things that bring down the rating. While understandable, their website needs to stay up for me to order ahead, and open up the ordering service at 11am, not 11:30! If I go with some other service the price appears to go up by like 4 or 5 bucks. Ordering ahead takes at least 45 mins for the food to be ready so opening up the ability to order online early would be great!

Otherwise, Momosan is where it's at for great ramen. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Potbelly! Honestly, it is like a Quiznos but better. The bread is toasty and delicious, the deli meats are also good, the variety of fixings are on point. Plus, the service is friendly and pretty quick. I also feel comfortable eating there as there is usually seating if you get there early enough for lunch. I understand that this is a franchise but it appears to be one of the better ones out there in NYC when it comes to Potbelly's.

I recommend this Potbelly's spot as a pretty good sandwich spot for lunch.

Naya is alright - I was on a shawarma kick for a time and I stumbled across this establishment. It appeared to be kind of expensive for the couple of times i ate their pita rolls. I will say though it is packed inside as it is indeed a popular lunch spot. For me, I am looking for something where the shawarma is bursting with flavor and this one is good for starters. I will likely try their food again to try one of their bowls as I see many people carrying bowls out of their restaurant. Perhaps then I will update this review. I know they are successful because a Naya is opening nearby where I frequent in NJ. Good luck!
